Also rhythm games often use direction buttons as regular buttons, same as ABXY. For those playing on a joy-con with distinct buttons is better.

I don't think this change affects the image much. Just like people above, I have to spend time to find even a single one. Which means, as covers, those pictures work identically. And given it's Nintendo, I'm fine with them choosing the more covered one.

What matters is that there are no changes to the story in the game.

I hope not to forget about the game when it finally hits the european eShop!

One of the few games in that Direct that caught my attention and got into the wishlist. Alas 20 is too much (for me), will wait for a discount.

Does it support gyro controls? It'd be awesome to control the pad like the planes in Fly Together, or a trombone in Trombone Champ.

What is the point of having hands-on events after the launch? I'm betting on mid-June.

They don't have to put up same files for S1 and S2. I'm expecting more detailed textures, maybe better shaders and lower loading times on S2. That's achievable without code changes, and costs almost nothing.

I would love having Tetris 2 from ZX Spectrum in there, it had excellent levels and also good 2-player coop.

We did see some leaked european store listings with 350 € prices, so this seems legit.

Celeste was 60% soundtrack for me, which I keep listening to months after beating the game. It was certainly not the difficulty I came for.

I second @thatfuzzyb about Children of Morta. We are slowly playing through it with my 9yo kid, it's gorgeous, although a bit hard. We're doing 3-4 runs and then summarizing what had happened. Like, today we saved some villagers, unlocked runes, increased coin gain and attack. And finally got to the second level of that dungeon.

I wish it had an easy mode Or at least a mode when co-op doesn't get harder than single-player.

The problem with Nintendo launch prices is that they rarely go down.

So it's not a "launch price". It's just a price. And it matters not only for early adopters.

This is the teaser we were waiting for in October-November. And it should have teased February Direct. That it went out three months later is sad.

I'm pretty sure that:

1. Nintendo will announce the new console in the February Direct.
2. We will have seen the hardware and heard about final specs by then.

(to expand on that, I've bought a Lenovo AMD laptop, a dock, and a mouse this Summer, and every single piece of their tech was failing in some way or broke down. Their AMD tech is below Inter counterparts too.)

On reddit they are genuinely puzzled. The trailer looks AI, there is some NFT affiliation, it is backed by some venture capital, and creators cannot be found anywhere, pages just give 404.

Despelote looks wonderful, but its website says, "Coming 2025 to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC." I hope there's Switch release planned, but I don't see it rn.

I thought for a second that Satisfyer started making grips for Switch, but alas.

The "visual positioning system" is also not new: why do you think Apple and Google and Microsoft compete in collecting as much street-side imagery as possible? Navigation by picture I think has already been showcased at some tech events (apple's?). I believe Uber boasted they could improve positioning by analyzing a camera photo.

Wasn't this the entire point of Pokemon Go, like Ingress before it? It has been basically a gamification of real world data collection, and the point always has been to improve geospatial data. The means to do it have changed, but I'm 100% sure it has nothing to do with LLMs, it's a different kind of AI. The term got diluted, sadly.

Wow, this all sounds right up my alley! Not too hard, 3 hours of playtime, excellent atmosphere. Awesome.

One thing we know for sure is that Switch 2 won't be featured in a September Direct. Nintendo is probably waiting for most of the launch titles to be confirmed to announce the console. As I said before, it's games that make Nintendo consoles, not hardware.

Based on their answer, they already have a devkit, but are contractually obliged to deny the successor system's existence.

Frankly, hardware does not matter at this point. It's pretty safe to assume it will be on par with PS4, and that's all we need to know.

What matters are launch titles. I think there have been zero rumors about those, and games are what make Nintendo.

Wait, it's that the same AC bundle we got previous years? I have exactly the cyan one sitting in my drawer, waiting for my kids' birthday this weekend. Except I think it doesn't have 12-month NSO.

I bought the Sparks game after NSO trial, during which I spent all seven days playing. It is soo good. The game quality wasn't a factor in the sales failure, and we have discussed that here and on reddit plenty of times.
