Re: Community: Found A Great Switch Game We Didn't Review? We Want To Know

I'd also push Old School Musical. It's short, easy to get into, and an absolute blast of a rhythm game. You travel across various 90s games ommages, but do not play them: instead, you just press some buttons to the rhythm while characters are playing the game for you. Miss — and they get hit. Replayability is good: there's an infinite chicken world, and you can try beating the game at higher difficulty levels.

Also, Pico Park is a marvel of co-op multiplayer. It's one of the few (if not the only) games which you can play with 5+ players, and not against each other. Instead you collaborate on solving dozens of platforming puzzles. Each of you has to perform perfectly — which leads to lots of laughs in the process. And all characters are cats!

Finally, Sheepo is a simple and fun metroidvania which I had almost no trouble beating 105% (there's a bonus thing after 100%). It's inventive, doesn't have an attack button, doesn't have frustrating mechanics like wall-jumping in Ori. I liked the feeling of "just one more room before sleep", which bigger games didn't give me. And Sheepo is great for speed-running.

@FishyS, try Deemo! It has very easy levels, and you will progress. I too looked for one, and Deemo makes me feel I'm making music, but without being too hard. And there are like 300 songs in different genres. You have to be playing on the touch screen, of course. There's a demo for Deemo

For controllers, Olde School Musical is simple enough, has a story, and music is nice. It's often on sale.

Re: Review: Fall Guys - The World’s Most Chaotic Game Show Lands On Switch, Now F2P

@steventonysmith why would I read NL reviews if I watched gameplay videos and did my own research for every game? I'd spend few hours on the game itself without needing a review then. I play exclusively on Switch, so I naturally don't care for technical things compared to next-gen consoles and PC, and what has changed (? — the game was published just now).

This review is "by the numbers", meaning I can easily find all the facts mentioned elsewhere. What I expected is how it feels to be played on Switch — and there's virtually nothing on that.

For a person who only has seen some trailers and has no idea what the game is about, this review is very un-informative. I just wonder if I can have a good time logging in for twenty minutes, falling off a cliff a few times, and switching back to whatever I'm playing.

I've no idea what the modes mean, what do you spend in-game money on, and whether it's fun if I don't care about graphics and framerate.

Re: Video: We Haven't Had A Nintendo Direct Yet, But That's Fine

Zverik

So by the wikipedia, Nintendo had June directs each year since 2012, except for 2016 and 2020, where they made directs only for one line of games (Culdcept and Pokemon).

When they did have a single-game direct in June, it usually followed the regular direct, except once in 2019.

So yeah, it looks like we won't be getting our Direct. But that's fine.
