I'm just baffled that they didn't seem to even think about a Switch version, like this is the first time they even heard of the system. Rather they just say that it was planned for the higher end consoles only, even adding they thought about switch but decided to stick with the original (likely better) ports.
Now they sound kind of dumb and tone deaf to their fanbase.
@LXP8 I'm still waiting for Nintendo to let me know when the amiibo become available for pre order. First amiibo sets I haven't heard a peep from them about. Had email for Mythra / Pyra, and Splatoon ones.
None of my money ever goes to supporting those horrible abusers at Ubisoft, and this title will continue the same trend. Their recent public comments in regards to owning games doesn't help matters either.
Luckily Ubisoft make nothing that actually interests me either, including this one. This just looks like a full priced 'digital game' that a couple gens ago would likely been sold for a third the price (ala Valiant Hearts, Child of Light etc).
@tatanga I have tried the demo, and am sure there are some brilliant looking parts. But it made me feel unwell after about 20 minutes. Maybe it's something to do with how the colours blend or something but it really messes with my motion sickness. Use to have no problems like this in my youth, ah well.
Am I the only one that feels nauseous looking at the star ocean game? I really don't think the HD-2D and realistic backgrounds blended well at all. But then some of the aberration in Octopath Travellers (note not played II) HD-2D made me nauseous too. Perhaps the style in general isn't for me.
Metroid is definitely best looking game on this list for sure for me.
@Kirbo100 @Ooyah Skull Island: Rise of Kong has 8 critic reviews across all platforms on Metacritic. I assume because PC (most reviewed) only had 5 it didn't count, even though it does have more than the 7 total reviews stated above.
2 were for Xbox Series and 1 was for PS5, none for Nintendo Switch, PS4 or Xbox One.
If it did count it would be the worst game on the list at a score of 23.
@Qwiff @TJM I just wanted to add that Civ 6 does pretty well at hand holding you through said learning curve (much more so than it's older titles). You also get the soothing voice of Sean Bean along the way teaching you about the ways of historical life.
@FlyingDunsparce The lists are organised by sales. Higher sales = higher position. The hentei games have been dirt cheap for a good long while thus racked up them sales. The games featured in this festive sale will take a few days to reorganise the sales list.
@nhSnork Playing through Xenoblade games a second time completely in first person mode is a magical ride from start to finish. Definitely a severely underrated feature these have.
Is this the first paid DLC pack for power wash? The only one I remember coming was Lara's mansion and believe that was a free add (though certainly did not contain anywhere near this amount of content).
Back to the future is a good call and has my interest.
@Qwiff Couldn't we just grab it via setting up a US account? I've been tempted to get the game for ages and as Germany somehow control all of Europe we aren't ever going to see it over here digitally.
To add. @JimNorman can we (in my case UK) purchase US eshop cards off here and use that to buy from a US account?
@GalaxicGlobe The North American lists have always covered Wednesday-Tuesday in their 'week'. When Europe use to also put out these lists they would cover Monday-Sunday. Guessing it's something to do with Tuesday was the goto release day in America (Friday for Europe and Thursday for Japan), though who knows. Nowadays games just release whenever wherever, except if your NIS, we still have to wait a bunch of days for Europe.
I bought KOTOR 2 on Switch simply for KOTOR 2. The lying promise of future content was just icing on the cake back then.
However I would feel duped and annoyed if I purchased it specifically for this false advertised product. However big or small, consumers have a right to get the product they paid for. This content was part of the product that was paid for, so it was on Aspyr and co to deliver. It's getting to the point of bait and switch which very much should have legal actions taken upon.
It's doubtful this lawsuit will do anything like most class action lawsuits, but company's shouldn't just get a free ticket from bailing on what was advertised. Not offering a refund was just insulting honestly, forcing you to pick a product you have already purchased, don't have access to play or had no intention of buying in the first place is - while better than what some companies would offer - still bad practice.
With them having to mention the servers will be up for foreseeable future sounds like this is on its way out. No point investing and releasing a Switch version if they will pull the plug across the board in a year or so.
@BacklogBrad The game offers online play so it will have a link to purchase NSO. All Nintendo games that can be played with NSO are tagged with in-game purchase label. Likely just the same for this.
@raffivegas Two Worlds was a different developer (Reality Pump), but Pyranha Bytes made the Risen series and now currently the Elex series. The first Risen game was released on Switch not too long ago.
The voxel games are pretty awful, well at least the first was. Didn't feel like EDF at all as it's focused on getting characters instead of grinding up your class and upgraded weapons.
Wish we would just get a normal EDF, can't be hard as they keep releasing them in the west on PS4. Can't see why a Switch localisation would be much more taxing.
@Zuljaras All of them? Dang that's some impressively bad luck there.
I've had drift on my launch pair and drift on a salmon / green pair right out the box. Second gray pair are still fine, my replacement salmon / green pair is fine, my skyward sword pair is fine as is my oled white pair. Pro con is still going strong too.
I have bad luck elsewhere though with my launch ps5 controller suffering it and two PS4 cons suffering it.
I really hope the industry as a whole can get a slap in the face and actually use proper thumbsticks and not the same crap from the same awful manufacturer.
@Browny Interestingly, I too got back into FF14 this year and has been my new addiction. Had a break to try the mediocre FF16 and didn't really enjoy my time with Tears of the Kingdom so keep returning to this mammoth of content.
@LieutenantPete @MarioBrickLayer Yes microtransactions. If you check the store page for the game there is a ton of it for its own fake currency plastered near the bottom of the page. As usual no information on the store page itself what any of it is for or required for but yeah that put me right off. Especially with it being a full priced game to boot.
I was interested a little to see this but then closed off the eshop page as soon as I saw all the MTX currency for it. Glad it is so easy to pass on Ubisoft games these days.
@Ryu_Niiyama The last time I bought a Call of Duty game was Black Ops II for Wii U and that was by far the best version of the game. If Activision bothered to give Nintendo consoles a decent game with consistency these arguments would become even further moot.
I don't know if I like FF16 or not, but it must be doing something right as I keep coming back to play more. The story is kind of eh, though it's nice that it's violent tendencies that they did with Type 0 have made a come back. Most of the attempts at emotional scenes impact are completely destroyed with poor or mis-ordered story pieces however. As well as so much of the story hidden behind walls of text much akin to FF13.
I'm leaning towards it being a pretty decent game but a rather bad Final Fantasy game. It comes off as a Baby's first Devil May Cry with some sprinkle of FF theming (considering the amount of animations straight taken from DMC4 and from same key developers it makes sense.) Game for the most part looks exceptionally good graphically, which is what majority of current players only care about these days.
@Ryu_Niiyama I have the game on both PC and PS4. It's probably my favourite out of the trio released on modern consoles so far (Ascension and Taishi), but maybe Awakening will change that.
@Ryu_Niiyama Very much so. Was disappointed we didn't get Nobunaga's Ambition Sphere of Influence port on Switch (and the import is still so pricey!!), but glad we got the latest Romance of the Three Kingdoms. These games run and work surprisingly well in a console environment.
@YoshiF2 8 and a half years so not as dreadfully aged, but we still getting old
This game looks really good, which concerns me greatly as this is modern day Square Enix. Chocobo GP looked really good too, and we know how SE's greed destroyed that. While the premium edition is ridiculous money (and who am I kidding that'll be my sucker order), if that is the sole means of monetisation that'd be okay. Fingers crossed SE just let their creatives make and release a good game.
@LimitedPower If they're partnering with Embracer Group for this Tomb Raider stuff it would be nice to see more of their IP incorporated. Embracer hold the rights to (far too) many IPs of great stature. Cleaning middle earth mayhaps, someone has to keep those Two Towers spotless for Sauron, he has an eye for that kind of thing.
@WallyWest @MajorTom Digimon World Next Order is a PS Vita game that was upscaled for PS4. Possibly @ModdedInkling is referring to that.
As for my own thoughts on this, I liked it on PS4, but do not think this game is worth the increased price point with nothing(of worth?) new being brought to the table.
@Sisilly_G I think what's more disingenuous is that the Nintendo titles don't include any digital sales, so the charts are full of misinformation from that alone. It's surprising to see so many Nintendo titles so high on a list comparing with titles that also have digital sales data (which far out weighs physical sales nowadays). Imagine what the charts would look like if we had access to the digital numbers for Nintendo games also.
The lady Link has intercourse with to regain his vigor looks awfully young there. Besides that a minish cap style remake could work. Shame we never got a sequel to it (a proper Zelda 3) or any other 2D games (except those A-M-A-Z-I-N-G CD-I games).
Not wanting to defend the scumbag execs at KT that thought this was acceptable, but the DLC prices these YouTubers reported were false.
They just went and checked the Steam page for what all the DLC available would cost, which if they did the tiniest bit of further research would notice they are buying the same DLC twice with the Season Passes and buying it all individually.
£500 is still screwed up though and if you wanted the characters you had to commit to crappy outfits that somehow are worth more than the game itself.

@AmplifyMJ Not sure if the first one is on sale (already own it) but de Blob 2 is. So I would think the first likely is too. Just a heads up.

@EriXz Yup I bought it off the sale as it felt a bit more reasonable to what they initially wanted for the title.
Re: Nintendo Launches 'Festive Offers' Switch eShop Sale, Discounts On Over 3,000 Games (Europe)
@AmplifyMJ You can buy it off of the website store I believe. Then it should be attached to the account and not downloaded to the console.
