@russell-marlow Probably the wrong two games to mention for outstanding AAA games. Popular sure, but imo RDR2 was ruined by going over the top with animations and bad pacing, so was always a chore to do or get anything done.

FF7 Remake was just a bland boring 'action' RPG take on a story that is already a convoluted mess, more so now with the changes they took. Suffers from modern SE thinking that everything has to be stylish but forget the substance (KH3 is the same).

Nioh 2 is likely the most recent AAA game I have enjoyed and that arguably isn't AAA. Hoping Nier Replicant will be one too but still awaiting the physical.

Emily Rogers is wrong 99% of the time so take whatever she says with a grain of salt. Too many 'insiders' get credit for just being 'guessers'.

Not particularly interested in anything SE has announced except Project Triangle. Maybe we will get to hear about some new games instead of the rehash of 7s or remasters.

Also please no more failed live service pedaling.

@Tasuki Sony currently seem to want nothing to do with Japan. They are effectively a full on American company now with their HQ being in America, them being registered as an American entity now and owned and ran by Americans. They'd likely cut all the JRPGs and just shill out whatever Eidos teams can do. Or force SE proper to make stuff right out of their wheelhouse. Not that Sony can afford such an acquisition however.

@Wexter Yes it would be a shame for any current ongoing 'part' projects and PC if these companies get involved. I'm leaning towards MS as the lesser evil as they are on the losing team, so they actually care to make an effort, just like Sony changed their tune with putting effort to get PS4 back on track over the PS3's middling success early on. But alas it is only a matter of time MS will get complacent again so really wouldn't want to see them acquire a company as a permanent result.

I agree SE should be left alone. If anything they just need to streamline their game engine costs (which they seem to be working quite well towards) then I can't imagine they will have any financial issues to cause such a needed buyout to occur.

@PoopScoop I thought Disney and SE had major falling outs over KH3 and with Disney pretty much forcing them to make the game a certain way.

Plus Disney have a new gaming division now, LucasFilm Games. Aptly named of course.

I wonder is SE in any situation for a hostile takeover like Ubi was back in the day? If that is the case it's possible SE won't even have a say in the matter. If it's a simple buyout situation, money goes on Microsoft if it isn't some random left field like Activision. I can't see Nintendo doubling down on such a purchase and neither see Sony being able to afford such a purchase.

Microsoft on the other hand has billions to burn with no shortage of dosh in sight. Either way will be sad to see, even though most of their modern FF games have been pants to me, they still let some of their talented folk out to play with Bravely series and the like.

@mattesdude Final Fantasy XIV was announced for Switch (or NX at the time) when they also announced Dragon Quest XI. Would be nice to finally get it though SE themselves have said zip all about it since, or very little (honestly not kept up on it).

I would like to see III and IV ports from the DS with just an upres if they want to be lazy. Keep the Steam/Mobile versions far away.

@MrGawain @JR150 Maybe for most interested in games but a celebrity face attached to something will make it stand out in a crowd and attract more people, even at the expense of what we would want.

Take Cyberpunk and Keanu Reeves for example. That thing blew way more up and the Xbox event became the talk of everywhere and still memed to this day due to his appearance.

To a lesser note can take Vin Diesel and Rodriguez appearing at the Game Awards, though the end results were the far opposite, it still got that trash cash in Fast and Furious game a lot of eyes upon it.

Makes sense as this is a much more linier style game compared to main Monster Hunter that reuses it's own (lovely) assets a lot in a more sandbox collection of areas. This'll likely need more especially if it's going to be a long adventure.

Be curious to know if we will be having much of a voice track as well? That all adds up especially if they do dual audio.

@Chlocean Thanks for the tip. Still need to get round to fixing my broken gamepad for that thing (broken left joystick, common problem but am inept with solders haha).

I'll be sure to nab it, especially seems no news on a fresh one for Switch.

On topic, sucks do much is being removed and people still say all digital should be the future. Least with the Mario stuff the millions upon millions of its physical release for 3D all-stars will likely mean it'll never go rare.

Some get enjoyment from physical goodies and material things, others get it from non material things. Neither is better than the other as long as it leads to a fruitful happy life for the individual.

Really didn't know Bamco Europe stuff sold so poorly and slow. Good on Little Nightmares but seems more concerning for their European output more than anything..

@EVIL-C @nessisonett They also launched Diablo 3 with the same support as all other systems (for seasons etc) and actual collaborative cosmetics with Nintendo.

The only main outlier from them is Call of Duty, which is still quite baffling as the mobile game would fit right at home on Switch.

@HeadPirate I have played the way of shooting too. Getting 5+ costless shooting cards every turn is devastating especially if you have the card that grants you force for each overheat activated.

I normally do a mix of both shooty and radioactivity in the extra modes (forget it's name but you do 20 battles). Can be a deadly mix especially with the trophy item that grants radioactivity on all enemies per attack card used.

I have put in countless hours to this game (really should check my profile for the tally). Didn't really find anything difficult in understanding the title, but maybe as I had been playing other deck builders recently.

Technical hitches do suck though, and while the frame rate and resolution didn't matter to much to me, can see it being off putting for others. Also to note I have only exclusively played it handheld, no clue how it holds up docked. You are normally too focused on the cards than the turn based animations.

To end, go radioactivity build and you'll destroy everything sadistically.

@atomicjuicer Steep was cancelled ages ago. They couldn't get their always online and mtx store stuff working properly so they scrapped it.

Prime 4 will be another few years yet. It just started completely from scratch not too long ago.

The style seems pretty good, but looks like we are set for quite a few of these point and click games this year.

@Lord Gal*Gun Returns is a remaster of the 2011 original title that never came to the West. Gal*Gun Double Peace and Gal*Gun 2 are their own separate sequels.

@Darkyoshi98 Captain Toad's Wii U release really spoilt em on hopes. That was £19 odd on most retail over here at launch (and we got it before Xmas even though Nintendo delayed it to mid January a few days before launch).

But alas. People need to realise a game that constantly sells has no reason to drop in price or retail lower, regardless of our personal wishes.

@crimsontadpoles Shopto and Base.com are normally around the £42 mark for new Nintendo games (besides Breath of the Wild which is still 50 odd). Currys also have been doing some really odd decent deals on Nintendo first party stuff including new releases.

Though having said that, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon DX has remained in the mid 40's which is a shame. Liked the demo but not 40+ liked.

@anoyonmus I would assume that relates to Samurai Warriors 5 that they have been teasing the past 2 years. Though knowing them it'll be mobile ports or Japanese only releases.

Would love to see something done with the Zero franchise but 5 bombed so badly everywhere (especially Japan) I don't see Nintendo footing the bill for anything for a while.

The last two times I recall a developer saying development is going very well we're:

1) Cyberpunk 2077.
2) Project Cars development going very well on Wii U.

So either the game is a garbage fire or it was never in development to begin with.

Kind of back firing if their plan was to try and sucker people to double dip on this with Switch being announced after the other versions launch. But then companies need to stop being Richards.

Never really got into Sands of Time. Didn't own the original and the HD collection version was an abomination.

Surprised the PS5 isn't higher but I heard Sony did them dirty with supply which may be why. Home consoles not really being a thing there doesn't help matters either. Does make Xbox numbers look sexier though.

Picked up Fire Emblem and the Taiko no Tatsujin adventure packs (not listed here?).

Other than that nothing else for now. Immortals is tempting but supporting Ubisoft gets more and more difficult as time goes on. Plus the paid for in-game currency is a no no support (regardless how intrusive or lack of).

@TimboSlice I've spent a lot of time in Bloons TD 5, Dungeon Warfare, Pixeljunk Monsters 2 and Defense Grid 2. Played a few other TD games as well but weren't nearly as enjoyable. May be worth checking them out if you haven't already.

More the merrier when it comes to Tower Defense games. Love them on Switch.

Am hoping we will eventually see Dungeon Warfare 2 as well. First was extremely addictive and cheap to boot.

Star Fox Guard port would be nice too.

Mine unfortunately would be more recent. Dragon Age Inquisition for PS4. Would of been tempted with the ME Trilogy if EA didn't can the Switch ver. But even then at a deep discount or used. Shame they have things like the Star Wars license. Far better devs out there that could do the universe justice.

@link3710 I may be misremembering (God knows 2014 feels like decades ago), but I believe most of the costumes were only free depending where you pre-ordered. You then could purchase them (in fairness very cheaply) after the second or third DLC drop. KT were only ruining Dead or Alive back then though. Now it's infested everywhere! (Seriously 75-100 quid Season Passes for mostly a handful of costumes).

@link3710 In today's 'Warriors' climate they would be severely overpriced DLC. The bois at KT love selling their costumes at a high premium.

Switch is the only current gen console I will have for a while. Happy with last gen's PS4 and XB1 still for other consoles. Everything is still coming to them for the most part.

Maybe next model of PS5 in a couple years time when games of interest arrive. Took me two years to jump on PS4 as well due to lack of interested games.
