@SwitchForce There are more fixes coming through for the Switch version which should nip hopefully most of the technical issues - if that is your only real bug bear.
The way content is played out however, probably a marmite situation. I quite enjoyed my time with the game, but there is a lot to dislike (along with a lot of different things to like).
@Fujimoto-San There is no multiplayer at all in 9 Empires. It's a shame but makes sense due to just how bad the core code frame work is for the game. It really put pressure on the main Dynasty Warriors 9 game when they added it in.
As for Samurai Warriors 5, have you played any of the earlier Samurai Warriors titles? (I actually have a review done for it on my KT site - can find in my profile, don't think community rules would allow shilling my stuff). I quite enjoyed it, but it is a much different take compared to the 4th entry, and focusing on Oda clans more so than the entire Warring States. SW5 has co-op however you have to progress through the first 4 or so battles in Musou mode to unlock it.
Just thought I would pop in and add (as just reviewed the PS5 version of the game), the PS5 version also suffers with all the same quality issues, along with frame rate drops and resolution tanking.
It seems to be more of an across the board problem then just Switch (though am sure the Switch suffers further).
@PJOReilly Did the day one Switch patch fix anything at all?
@jowe_gw Yes, any game that can link you to a purchasable item (in this likely case NSO subscription) will be categorised as such. Anything that lets the user spend actual money pretty much.
@Woodyshoe EA don't even know what a Switch is, let alone cloud versions.
Didn't like Fallen Order and haven't liked any Star Wars EA touched since Pandemics Battlefront 2, so nothing of value lost for this switch owner. Glad they don't monopolise the IP anymore.
I had issues using the eShop during the afternoon on Christmas Day (UK servers), similar time also couldn't log into PSN. Xbox was fine but didn't really do much on there outside picking up Planet Coaster.
Everything online sucks over Christmas. Don't invest so much emotion into these things working during these times and you'll never be disappointed.
Shame it won't be coming to Switch. I remember this bloke also said A Way Out couldn't come to Switch because the controllers didn't have enough buttons.. don't trust what he says as reasons for this one not coming to Switch.
The real reason is because EA, and EA loves being EA.
Not to say Joseff's games are bad at all, they have all been pretty decent. Just he spouts a lot of PR nonsense instead of just saying EA doesn't want it on Switch or they just don't want to put resources into a port.
As for the TGA show itself. What a load of guff. Pretty sure Keanu took both red and blue pills in his video appearance. He definitely had something in the system.
@JaxonH @GrailUK I wonder does PushSquare deduct points from their reviews because they can't take their PS5 to play on the toilet? The same logic applies...
The game does look really pretty on Switch, and will eventually pick it up. The £50 price tag is a bit stiff to pull off right now though so stuck with Loop Hero this week instead!
@Euler Jeff was full on the Switch Pro train wagon, and everytime it never got revealed he would always backtrack and say he meant something different than what he actually said.
The 'insiders' NLife keep calling on aren't insiders, just people making educated guesses and hoping something lands. They don't actually have any insider knowledge or access. But these articles always get a ton of clicks so sites won't stop spouting that belief.
@Dudikowski You should email it to NL or tag @Damo about it.
The site in question uses an active feature of wordpress / similar hosts that allow you to directly copy a news post. It's meant to be a way for smaller places to get the word out more for things more important than gaming and such. It's a stupid mechanic and always open to abuse.
@Liam_Doolan Thank you for clearly stating it's a Limited Run physical release it is much appreciated to go into these articles knowing it's not a general physical release (or getting hopes up for such).
@Longondo I recall a lot of vocal outcry in hopes of there being Genesis/Megadrive, Turbografix and other consoles to come to the online service during its early tenure. Nintendo likely have just recently started to read those requests as they are stuck a good 5 years or so behind the rest of the world.
Emily Rogers.. so not actual information. She can be trusted as far as I can flip my shoe. She makes educated guesses, does not make them insider. Take any info from her with a grain of salt.
@Meteoroid @Zuljaras @RandomNerds As a player from back in the day who had this consume his life for way too many lonely years (and also recently still played on my work laptop), the controls do feel right at home.
As mentioned, the inventory system can take a little getting use to, but everything is mapped to buttons so when you get use to what does what you can handle everything quickly and efficiently. The remaster also helps a lot with being able to map more than two different attacks / skills at once, also to just a simple button prompt.
The only issue I have found with the controller (and I could be just blind not seeing a better way here) is sorting inventory to your stash. From what I can tell you have to move everything individually one section at a time. So it is quite a bit more time consuming than with mouse as well as more annoying if you need to organise your stash to fit items optimally. Do let me know though if there is a more efficient way to micro manage specifically to your stash, would be very helpful.
@farrgazer Yeah, anything will do really. The amount of times this place has said a game is getting a western physical release only to realise once clicked on the article it's a very limited release generally in America only unless you want to pay way over the top postage.. it's a real downer.
Also heard about the input issues. Hopefully they can resolve it from their current investigations. These type of games really need precise controls.
Strictly Limited? Very small number of already limited copies? So the game isn't actually getting a physical release as the update states. There needs to be a new term or stated better when these scum limited companies come in and screw with things so we can be properly informed of actual physical releases, and not be disappointed with backhand clickbait.
@Joeynator3000 There's also Ubisoft, Paradox, In fact too many to really just focus on one. So I understand the easy confusion in remembering solely Activision's scumbaggery. The industry reeks of it everywhere.
Maybe now we will see Yakuza games come to switch as he was adamant Switch owners couldn't appreciate the series? It sucks he's gone but if it enables some Switch love that's a nice bonus.
@Crono1973 So because it's less common but still the same fault, it's fine? And yes I have known people complain about drift and returning and replacing Dualsenses.
I don't even know why people can even argue this. They all should be dealt with not just one part of it targeted. And the source should be in question. It shouldn't just be Nintendo because it's fault is more publicly spoken about (on a Nintendo focused site at that) and allow every other company that may to a lesser extent still get away with it. Nintendo shouldn't get a pass. Sony shouldn't get a pass. The terrible manufacturers that are allowed to produce these broken parts should not get a pass.
@armondo36 I have had more faults with Dualshock 4's than Switch. It's all about what you hear from who and who screams the loudest. Switch and Nintendo are top of the list due to the sheer unpredicted popularity of the Switch.
Again though, Nintendo are at fault, but so are Sony, and whoever else sells us crap from that manufacturer.
@BloodNinja It certainly seems to be a more common thing since the Wii U / PS4 / Xbox One gen. Couldn't say what may or may not of changed, but thumbstick quality has gone down the pooper it seems across the board.
@WallyWest So it is fine for Sony and other controller sellers to do it? They are all equally at fault and should all be put under fire. Not just pick and choose, that won't solve anything.
@Pokester99 Yeah I understand that it's awful all round. Until we can get a proper consensus on what actually triggers the drift issue it's hard to discern why the Joycons have a more public failure rate. Maybe it's due to its smaller shell? I've yet to have any problems with Pro cons but have heard they are not free from the issue either.
@armondo36 Dualshock 4 and Dualsense have a high drift failure rate. They use the same manufacturer and suffer the same problems over time.
The crux of the matter is finding what actually triggers the issues in the first place as everyone seems to regard the issues differently to them personally.
@Pokester99 You can say the same for others in this comment section who haven't experienced Joycon drift. Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft all use the same thumbstick manufacturer and all are susceptible to the drift problem. Nintendo are the primary target but all we do is shake our fingers at them and don't do anything else about it. This also let's every other company off the hook as it's easy to just say it's solely Nintendo's fault or a Nintendo issue.
Don't get me wrong though. Nintendo is not in a position to be defended over this. Just in my mind only targeting them won't solve the grand picture of the issue. All the companies need to be hit for working with the shoddy manufacturer and they all need to stop getting away with it as it ends up screwing every end user at some point.
In regards to my personal drift issues. My day 1 PS4 controller runs fine. My newer blue dualshock 4 lasted 13 months, just enough to get past warranty. My day 1 switch joycon (gray pair on launch day) doesn't suffer drift. I bought the Splatoon set (salmon and green) and that arrived out of the box with drift. Returned them and the replacement (knock on wood) function fine after two years. My skyward sword joycon also have yet to have any issues.
Not had any specific issues with Xbox one controllers so far, but they get used a lot less than PS4 and Switch. Oh also had bad drift with the Wii U gamepad.
@Pokester99 It is also a major issue with Sony's controllers as well. Targeting just Nintendo still isn't fixing the core issues. My PS4 controllers have had more drift issues than my joycons, and the dualsense is often getting drift issues as well.
Every company for some reason is ordering these 'broken parts' along with continuing to give the shabby manufacturer business.
They should be calling out the thumbstick manufacturer more so than Nintendo. It's popular to just pick out Ninty in this when all platforms suffer from the same crap thumbsticks.
Nothing seems to ever get fixed just pointing fingers. Strike at the heart of the matter.
@Broosh The switch can handle them. The games run on the same engine used for Final Fantasy X HD. It's just an easy cop out situation as they are bringing KH3 as well.

@chipia This game was brought to Switch and the West due to Bandai Namco, not due to Level 5. Pretty much if Level 5 get a big publisher job it may come out in the West, but all of Level 5's solo titles won't be anymore. Ie Yokai Watch, Inuzuma Eleven etc.

Unless all of the games she 'leaked' actually get released or mentioned again to recoup all the non credibility she has. Such as Pokémon Stars, mother 3 on the Wii u, and plenty of other no shows. I also don't understand how acknowledging a report from Bloomberg makes them the one who leaked the information..
It is also common knowledge that Nintendo would have to pay increased license fees for consoles and games they do not own. That's how licensing works.
