Re: Nintendo To Merge Its European Subsidiaries Into One Big Organisation

XenoShaun

@DarthFoxMcCloud @Sinton All of the resident evil games were physical in America and not in Europe also. In fact most Capcom games get shafted in Europe on physical for Switch.

As for the topic at hand. Not sure I like Germany having more dictatorship over Europe, where their laws disregard other countries laws cough still block Dying Light release cough.

Re: Nintendo Shares "Sneak Peek" At Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future DLC Waves

XenoShaun

Having completed everything to do with Ino in roughy 45 minutes or so, I'm not too excited for the next wave as looks it'll offer much of the same. It's a shame as Xenoblade 2 added a lot more variety in content with it's DLC, several blades with their own quests and side-stories.

I haven't checked out the challenge battles yet, which if that is a lot more fleshed out content wise then maybe the meat of it is there.

Re: Video: 9 Exciting New Games Coming To Nintendo Switch In October 2022

XenoShaun

Nier has been pre installed and Bayo3 has been purchased with an NSO ticket (Splatoon 3 being her partner purchase). I'll be picking up Star Ocean on the dusty ol' PS5 as well.

As for the other games. I don't touch anything Ubisoft. Persona is bit too expensive coming out the gate (will be on sale fairly quick like 5 strikers and smt3 am sure). No man's sky is tempting, maybe will pick that one in December which seems pretty bare bones month for me. Don't know what Lego Bricktales and Them's fightin' herds entail so not been on my radar. Don't care for the 'humour' of borderlands and while the Dragonball game looks pretty neat, I am just not into online only games (in need of friends for those kind of things).

Re: NPD Results Show PlayStation 5 Outsold Switch In August (North America)

XenoShaun

I got a PS5 January of this year (Miles Morales bundle from GAME), and the only worthwhile venture has been Elden Ring which could of been played fine on my old PS4. It seems people just want what they can't have (lack of availability) or just new shiney things.

Hopefully we get some good games soon that requires the PS5. I didn't like Returnal and not tried Ratchet & Clank (not worth £70). Also not interested in Naughty Dog's output and the other Sony studios copying them (RIP unique games from Studio Japan ).

Outside of Elden Ring, I have enjoyed playing some enhanced versions of PS4 games (such as the Ni-Oh complete collections), but it really hasn't been anywhere near worth the cost of entry so far. I have played the console once in the past two months and that was to try out the Wo Long demo (was mediocre, but lot of potential to improve).

Feel sorry for all those Saints Row buyers though. Got burned pretty hard by that, at the price they want for it as well.

EDIT: An additional, after reading the sales lists more properly. It isn't very fair when majority of the sales for most of the titles aren't included - but the top spots are full sales included. Would be curious to see what the true numbers are if it was available to get digital sales numbers for Switch and some Xbox stuff.

Re: Video: NieR:Automata For Nintendo Switch Gets A New Trailer

XenoShaun

@SeantheDon29 KH3 in theory should have little to no trouble running on the Nintendo Switch as it uses the Unreal Engine which is native to the console. The KH releases were done in such a disasterous way only because SE didn't want to put the time and money into doing a proper port job, which all titles could of achieved.

It seems also that it may of been an extremely hastey decision due to the 'celebration' of Sora's inclusion in Smash Brothers, may of even been a behind the scenes agreement that KH needed to come to Switch for Sora to happen. Would explain the hack job they did, even the Cloud versions don't run very well (outside of the Internet dependant issues).

Re: Critically-Acclaimed Co-Op Game 'It Takes Two' Confirmed For Switch

XenoShaun

Nice to know the Nintendo Switch now magically has enough buttons to play these games.

Sarcasm aside. Heard good things about this so will likely grab at some point. Just a massive shame that some of the money will be going to EA.

@anoyonmus The excuse for this and A Way Out use to be the Nintendo Switch didn't have enough controller buttons to play these games which literally makes zero sense. But that was just a load to bullcrap Joseff has to spout for EA not wanting to support Nintendo releases at the time.

Re: Game Journalist Doubles Down On Zelda News At Upcoming Nintendo Direct

XenoShaun

@dartmonkey Just a quick note and should be mentioned. That list misses a TON of things he has been wrong about. Majority of the Goldeneye leaks, Switch pro, and more. While he has gotten certain things right it is by no means swayed in his favour when it's picked and chosen what is stated he has gotten wrong.

Personally I am not against articles like this. Lets you guys pay the bills, and lets us randomly speculate on what-ifs. We all know deep down most of this rumour crumpets are just educated guesses overinflated by ego.

Re: Game Journalist Doubles Down On Zelda News At Upcoming Nintendo Direct

XenoShaun

@Grackler If the rumour comes from Jeff Grubb, Emily Rogers or Laura Kate Dale then you can guarantee its guff they have made up. None are reputable but NLife speak as if they only state facts.

The only reason we keep getting these articles is because they know pretending those hacks have anything worth to say on these matters gets a lot of clicks and engagement. This place is first and foremost a business and requires to pay it's staff - credibility or integrity be damned in most cases.

@gcunit - More and more true as the days go on.

As usual it's Jeff so it's nothing true. Logically we should be looking at TP / WW ports, be it one or both this year as we have yet to have the Zelda IP used, as mentioned a good few years back by Aonuma he wants a Zelda title released yearly.

Re: Pac-Man World Original Staff Not Credited In Switch Remake

XenoShaun

This seems to be quite common practice nowadays. Wasn't too long ago there was the scandal of people who left during development of a game would get their name removed from the credits even if the game still used that person's hard work.

It's simple everyone. If someone contributed to the game, be it new content, content referenced or content copied - CREDIT THE DANG PERSON.

Re: Japanese Charts: SD Gundam Battle Alliance Is Switch's Top-Seller In Strong Week For Sony

XenoShaun

@Grim It's quite varied but mostly countries in Europe and Asia are being hit quite a bit more. It is more the principal of the price increase than the actual amount, plus all of the other bone headed moves that pratt Jim Ryan has been pulling. It's just yet another anti consumer move by Playstation.

It's also in context to scalper prices will likely raise even more on the product due to the price increase. But that's a whole different can of worms to be opened.

In regards to the chart itself. Glad to see my EDF brethren are strutting their stuff. If only Switch got more of those titles besides the mediocre voxel port. I'd even take the poor man's Bamco rip off Tank Tank Tank / sequel at this point.

Re: So, What Does Embracer Group Actually Own The Rights To?

XenoShaun

All those titles without hyperlinks really show you guys need to open up a PC site, Board Game site, and Movie / Media site. Chop chop Hookshot!

Seriously though. They sure have their fingers in a lot of pies. I'm glad at the least they seem to be doing something with most of those IPs. Am not glad that their money is directly funding Square-Enix's spiral into NFT hell.

Re: Mini Review: MADiSON - Jump Scares Aplenty In This Effective, If Unoriginal, Horror

XenoShaun

@JasmineDragon That's pretty much all the game is. You walk around, barely anything happens, you take a picture with your camera and something slightly changes in the polaroid then move to next scene.

7/10 is extremely generous for what is pretty much your typical bargain based Steam horror game.

@Shambo - any comparison of this to Project Zero is a massive insult to that series.

Re: Adventure Academia: The Fractured Continent Locks In A Western Release

XenoShaun

To those above, this is a pretty decent looking Strategy RPG coming from a fairly well reputable developer. The creators of the almighty Tenchu need more acclaim then they get.

It's a game actually coming to Nintendo Switch which makes it infinitely more related than a lot of other recent articles on this site (cough Steam only JRPGs).

Re: Poll: Digimon Survive Is Finally Available, Will You Be Getting It?

XenoShaun

I am interested to pick this up at a later date. Xenoblade comes first and I do want to prioritise time for Live a Live afterwards. Unfortunately this seems like the type of game if you don't buy early the physical will go super rare so may need to dish out some money early.

Don't know if I will enjoy it more than the Cyber Sleuth double pack however.

Re: Review: Omori - An Emotional, EarthBound-Inspired RPG That's Not Afraid To Shock

XenoShaun

@PessitheMystic Honestly never had a game effect my mental state in any bad way (fictional media in general doesn't have that hold on me personally). Sure it can make me feel up or down, but the themes (be it overtly cheery or seriously depressing) have never really taken hold of me in that regards. I am perfectly fine without needing any warnings of this kind, but can see that if this kind of thing does effect others it is worth having due to mental illness and the like being more understood. Just the same with seizure warnings and such. If this game has content that could trigger (really hate that word but in this case..) an episodic attack the customer should be well informed in advance.

As for something more mundane like a Jumpscare warning or what you would typically associate with horror, people should go in with those expectations and shouldn't need a big warning to cater to it. Though I am sure if someone is well and truly effected by jumpscares they could make a solid argument as to why it should.

Certain serious things need warnings but giving it to every basic thing severely takes away from the warnings people should / need to have.

Specifically to this game. I was aware that the game dealt with certain dark themes and deeper meanings. I didn't know enough for any spoilers to occur, but I had done some basic research (or perhaps it was thrown at me back when it was viral a year or so ago). Much akin to Doki Doki Literature Club.

Re: Review: Omori - An Emotional, EarthBound-Inspired RPG That's Not Afraid To Shock

XenoShaun

@PessitheMystic Re: Warnings of content.

Welcome to the universe ran by Twitter. When a place of absolute nobodies can ruin your life, career and a whole lot more overnight, you gotta tip all the toes.

Regards the game: As someone who suffers a lot of mental health issues (including self harm etc), this game personally just didn't click with me. I liked Earthbound, and thought Undertale had some charm to it (but not that great of a game - don't @ me fanbase). This.. I don't know? Feels like it's trying too hard maybe? I could just need to give the game more of a chance and could of easily gone in with the wrong mindset (happens more often than you'd think), but to me this just seemed like a pretty typical RPG that is 'special' only due to the themes it conveys, be it for genuine reasons or just shock value. I have only dropped a few hours into it however so maybe something deeper breaks the current mental block?

Re: FIFA 23 Legacy Edition Will Have Women's Football, But No New Features

XenoShaun

People forget the only reason we have a FIFA release is because the license agreement with FIFA forces them to port it on all modern consoles. I would be more curious to see if we see anything next year when they drop the FIFA title. EA have no loyalties to Nintendo... anything, and without a forced contract pushing for a release I doubt we will get another.

But then who knows Android Wilson was so excited by Activision being bought out maybe they will be bought out by then and someone actually business savvy will make use of what terrible IP they have left in the bank.
