Re: Retro's Hiring Spree Continues As It Recruits Veteran GTA Producer

XenoShaun

Don't think people appreciate what starting development from scratch actually entails. It hasn't even been 2 years yet, and 2020 being a complete write off it's probably barely been a year.

Most of the work has probably been focused on getting the basic structure programming down. Realistically this shouldn't be ready for another few years if that.

Re: Round Up: Tokyo Game Show 2020 - Here Are The Nintendo Switch Highlights

XenoShaun

Ya'll still missing Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV plus its expansion pack coming to Switch this Winter alongside Ryza. @Liam_Doolan

The game is one of the best Grand Strategy franchises out there. First time we finally getting it on Switch in the West (with quite a few already out in Japan only.. boo KT for their many Japan only Switch ports).

Re: Hey Dood, NSO Members Can Now Download A Disgaea 5 Game Trial

XenoShaun

@Cosats It shouldn't be downloaded but its thumnail should appear on your home screen. Same has happened with Arms, Celeste and Pokken to my knowledge.

When you click on the thumbnail it'll request to download. Can easily remove it from the home screen too with start and delete.

As for the game. Its good timing considering 6 just got announced. I love the idea of Disgaea but not really got into any other than 3 (which I was addicted to, level cap of 9999 was insane!). Definitely worth a go.

Re: Talking Point: Could Monster Hunter Rise Hint At New Switch Hardware On The Horizon?

XenoShaun

Don't think we will be seeing this almighty powerful Switch or docked only Switch people keep pulling out of thin air. Of course would love to be proven wrong but it doesn't sound very Nintendo like to release a very expensive version of a Switch as there is no way they will sell the console at a loss.

Also the "verticality" stuff with the arm grabby thing (I have the best terminology!) was taken from Toukiden, not any inspiration from Botw I would think. We could use some Toukiden ports while we are at it.

Re: Could We See Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity At Tokyo Game Show This Year?

XenoShaun

The 'second half' is dedicated to an unannounced project (before HW's reveal). That project is highly likely Hyrule Warriors as KT have full publishing rights in Japan just like Zelda musou.

Surprised its a worldwide release though. KT normally prioritises Japan over everyone else for at least a month or two.

There's a small chance it could be Samurai Warriors 5 which was also meant to be revealed this year. It is a little counter-productive as it would steal the spotlight from their Dynasty Warriors anniversary.

Re: Rumour: A New Ninja Gaiden Trilogy Could Be Coming To Switch Next Year

XenoShaun

@Miyamotosan Yeah the Sigma releases were made a fair bit easier (especially 2), so you played the good version for that at least haha. First on XBOX was the real hard one, then Black released which was a little easier but added a whole lot of content to make up for it.

3 / Razors Edge was always generally easier as it had no involvement from Itagaki-san, also why it was more your run of the mill action game.

Re: Switch Control Options Supposedly Uncovered In Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 Warehouse Demo

XenoShaun

@westman98 @mallen001 The screenshots don't portray the L and R buttons properly, but rather show them as LB and RB for two (switch handheld and pro con) and L1 and R1 for another (joycon grip). That's rather suspect but could be an error on the developers part.

Edit: L2 and R2 are also used instead of ZL and ZR for the joycon grip. Looks like its probably fake with poor oversight from the photoshopper. @Liam_Doolan

Re: Nintendo Switch Sales Surpass 61 Million, Equalling The Mighty NES

XenoShaun

@korosanbo Project Zero 5 was on a whole new level of low sales compared to the normal lesser sales of general Wii U titles. It was barely making four digit salss.

From what I've been looking up though seems the producer of the series wants to make a new game but Nintendo doesn't (as of April 2020). I love the series so do hope it gets given another shot.

Re: Nintendo Switch Sales Surpass 61 Million, Equalling The Mighty NES

XenoShaun

@korosanbo @varkster Nintendo purchased the IP rights back in the late 2000s, with their first title being the remaster/enhanced port of Project Zero 2 for the Wii along with the 4th entry. Soon followed by Camera Obscura for the 3DS and lastly Project Zero 5 on Wii U. It's in the same boat as say Bayonetta, where KT still have the rights to the PS2 releases (which is why they are still up on the US PS3 store), but can't produce new titles without Nintendo involved or their permission to do so elsewhere (like Wonderful 101 and Platinum Games).

They do use the Project Zero engine for other titles however, such as that VR Sense horror game a while back.

EDIT: With how terribly poor 5 sold though I doubt we will see a port or new title from the IP anytime soon.
