Re: Yes, Switch OLED Works With Your Old Dock

XenoShaun

@Silly_G I was certainly being hyperbolic on the price point, but the idea still stands. Even £30 or something off would be great. Same with now opening options for people to just get the dock for the Lan comparability. It would be great to have these revisions also spur interest in current owners more as well, especially when Furukawa-san (or Kimishima?) wanted there to be many switches in people's households.

I am glad at least that we aren't getting shafted badly with the UK price. Most was talking to earlier today were dreading it would be £330-£350.

Re: Nintendo UK Celebrates Summer With A 30-Day Switch Accessory Competition

XenoShaun

@moodycat I was going to say. Someone needs to let the weather gods know it's summer already. Though the constant showers has been quite nice - especially as all my work is done from home !

It's nice to see something from Nintendo that isn't for the States or Japan though. But 64gb (retailed at 19.99? yikes you can get double that for less practically anywhere online) just doesn't cut it.

Re: Review: Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection - Ryu Hayabusa Deserves Better Than This

XenoShaun

@Whitestrider @Bizzyb @yuwarite I just want to point out that this review is likely fully based on the review code without the day one patch. As for video reviews and footage, they have to be of footage after the update. (Cough embargo stipulations cough)

Playing the games a few weeks ago, I can affirm the frame rates were no where near like they are with the day one patch. With it crawling and freezing in places along with causing input delays across all three games. This review should rectify things as it states at the end of the review regarding the patch could resolve more issues, which seems like it has.

Sigma 2 definitely feels a lot better since the patch at least.

Re: Review: Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection - Ryu Hayabusa Deserves Better Than This

XenoShaun

@EmirParkreiner To make it a little clearer. The 'gore' patch just enable head decapitations to be visible in the game. Previously you would still chop the head off but visually the head would be unharmed.

There seems to be something specific with head decapitations in Japan that is more gory than limb dismemberment. The gore patch does not bring in the gore from Ninja Gaiden Black or Ninja Gaiden 2 Xbox releases.

Re: Review: Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection - Ryu Hayabusa Deserves Better Than This

XenoShaun

@Whitestrider I would say the games are worth it still. It is also possible that there was a performance uptick from the day 1 patch also.

Through my review copy I had input delays and frame rates crawling to a halt (mainly on 3). I have yet to check them again after the update so will be interesting to see.

My main disappointment though is the cut modes and cut online. My poor unknown ninja doesn't have a chance to shine in this collection

*Note I played exclusively handheld for all three.

Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For June And July 2021

XenoShaun

@the_beaver Hm yes you have a point. I didn't notice they tagged on various releases after July at the bottom.

Perhaps No more heroes 3 doesn't have a physical? Or perhaps most likely the physical hasn't appeared on a store this place does the affiliate program with. Believe it is still planned for end of August (24th or something?)

Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For June And July 2021

XenoShaun

@BloodNinja Yeah there are difficulty settings, but if I recall for the Sigma games they don't make the AI smarter but just amplify their damage and give you less healing opportunities.

Ideally you want to play all three on Master Ninja difficulty (that even puts the hardest of souls games to shame haha), but believe you need to complete the game on all subsequent difficulties before it.

Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For June And July 2021

XenoShaun

@BloodNinja The sigma games are watered down ports of Ninja Gaiden Black (Xbox) and Ninja Gaiden 2 (360). Though Sigma 1 isn't too bad, mainly just easier and some poorly paced missions for side character Rachel. Sigma 2 is quite the crime however that removes all gore, dumbs the AI right down, cuts the amount of enemies you fight down and adds very poor missions for 15 year old Ayane. I mention her age as the big selling point of Sigma 2 was being able to swing her bewbs around with the sixaxis controller. Sigma 2 did however add co op trial missions which were contained arena fights, but believe the collection has removed all online functions. Likely still in the game hopefully rebalanced for single player only.

3 Razors Edge is a good all round fun Fest so no worries there. Just uh get over the story, pacing and characters and enjoy the extremely fun combat. Gore and all.

Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For June And July 2021

XenoShaun

@BloodNinja They are the Sigma games to boot. Make sure the good ol' Ninja council takes that into consideration before sending out those approval stamps!

As for me, disappointing to see all the lack of physical versions for Europe/UK and the dollar/pound horrific comparison. Too much coming out July, I remember the days when the Summer months were considered dead weight to the publishers, oh how times have changed.

Re: Overwatch 2 Is Removing The Second Tank Slot From PVP Teams

XenoShaun

"We feel like this is the next step in the way Overwatch ought to be played.”

Shouldn't that be down to how the playerbase plays? I don't know that statement rubs me the wrong way weirdly. Comes off as one person wanting it to be one way while the players enjoying the game another way is wrong.

Re: Poll: The Famicom Detective Club Games Are Out Today On Switch, Are You Getting Them?

XenoShaun

Bought them yesterday and started the first game around 1am. Picked it up with the NSO ticket thingy and pre ordered Mario Golf with the other.

Curious what's with the dual release in America? Seems weird to be vastly different to us over in the UK.

Been enjoying the game a lot, though a missed opportunity with only being Japanese audio, mainly as I recently played through 999 again. But then there is a LOT of dialog and everything is voiced (least first few hours has been).

Re: The Iconic Action-RPG Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance Is Out Today On Nintendo Switch

XenoShaun

@Dracavius I would say that most valid complaints come from everywhere outside of the US are paying a lot more for it. They pulling an EA thinking every currency is identical. I would jump at this personally if it had online, but unfortunately doesn't look likely, and a shame if 2 ever comes will be without online too.

Still got 2 on my PS2, though I recall it hogs so much of the memory card.

Re: Toys For Bob Is Now A Support Developer For Call Of Duty: Warzone

XenoShaun

So question, what needs supporting still with Crash 4? Does it have an active online mode or something? A buggy mess needing continued patches?

Or more likely situation, a way to add in more mtx as it's been enough time since release to dodge review blasting and esrb/Pegi warnings?

I genuinely am curious though to what they would mean by that. I've not played Crash 4 though so forgive my ignorance if it's something simple.

Re: Ni No Kuni II Might Be Coming To Switch

XenoShaun

Would be nice to see but personally thought this sequel was a massive step backwards compared to the first. Plus without the Studio Ghibli involvement it falls flat on design and story.

Shame we won't likely see anything new in the series unless Bamco get a new studio involved, and even then without Studio Ghibli it won't match any of its potential.

Re: E3 Announces Its Digital Event Hosts For 2021

XenoShaun

@Anti-Matter I agree. I find the most fun and often well designed games come from developers with a limited budget, so they actually have to put effort into making the games fun or interesting. AAA due to its needless high budget nature always play things safe which pretty much makes them all feel like the same average poop.
