A Saturn Mini would be prohibitively expensive to produce due to the complexities of emulating the system architecture.
The Dreamcast is more realistic due to requiring far less processing power and being the final home SEGA console, will most likely resonate with more potential buyers.
Regardless of whether the next iteration is a pro model or a true successor, full backwards compatibility with the entire Switch back catalogue is a must.
Nintendo have to follow Steam, PSN etc. and create a platform which outlasts more than 1 console generation.
I think he wants to say that the Switch is too underpowered to easily port their games over and can’t be arsed to put the work in to make scaled down versions.
@KingMike Wondermega Collection is a sample disc bundled with Japanese Wondermega consoles. It contains four CD+G karaoke songs and four games. Three of them are enhanced versions of Sega Game Toshokan service games that are Paddle Fighter, Flicky and Pyramid Magic. The remaining one is Quiz Scramble, which would later be released separately as Quiz Scramble Special.
@thinkhector Your original argument mentioned the system being a failure due to a lack of good games but the list I made included many which were the best versions available at that time.
Nobody held back buying Final Fight CD because a better version would be available nearly 30 years later on the Switch.
I think the main reason for the Mega/Sega CD failing was due to being too late to market. The PC Engine/Turbografx CD add on had far greater success but released in 1988 and time to mature before the next generation 32bit systems arrived.
You're very wide of the mark as far as quality Mega/Sega CD games are concerned. To only mention a single game is crazy. Just off the top of my head these are at least 8/10 titles...........

If interested, check out the Japanese direct as there was far more to see on that stream. I’m sure some of the players were wearing masks. I saw either Mimi or Nyami from Pop’n Music and Goemon.
Just downloaded it on the Steamdeck (around 170mb) and it is an absolute steal for a tenner. Beautifully presented, lots of innovative bosses and gameplay elements.
I prefer it over Andro Dunos II and fingers crossed it heads to Switch although it may be a tough port as things get very busy on screen with some giant well animated bosses.
@eltomo was that not Player Manager by Anco? The SNES version was endorsed by KK himself complete with naff title screen.
If so, just give me the Amiga version. I loved that game..........let’s lobby N for an Amiga subscription complete with joystick, keyboard, mouse and Rockstar Ate My Hamster as a pack in.
I have it on Steam and find it underdeveloped and barebones. Impressive considering its 1 man development but why would you bother when Virtua Racing is such a beautiful port on the Switch.
@Specter_of-the_OLED agreed, emulation latency is key. If these have the same input lag as their previous Saturn emulated titles these will be unplayable.
Ps. Really hoping for low lag levels on Layer Section. The Saturn version is one of my all time fave shooters.
@Tom-Massey Fair point, however it does share assets with the aforementioned game and is unmistakably a Picorinne Soft title which is no bad thing. In fairness, the original Andro Dunos was a poor shooter on the Neo Geo and PS are a great team (I think they’re brothers) to breathe new life into the sequel.
I really hope this succeeds and they can push to release Infinos GAIDEN / EXA on the Switch.
@AllieKitsune infinos gaiden goes from average to awesome once you reach level 3. It feels like a whole different game. I hope it receives a Switch port.

Re: Sonic Frontiers Leaks Surface Online Ahead Of Next Week's Launch
Early reports seem to be negative and the Switch version unsurprisingly has major frame rate and draw distance issues.
Review embargoes usually only mean one thing........let’s hope we don’t have another Balan Wonderworld on our hands.

Re: Chill Out With This Soothing Puzzler, 'Reky', Coming To Switch This Week
Was getting Rhythm Heaven vibes from the image on the home page.
Still can’t believe Nintendo haven’t brought us a new instalment despite Tsunku being keen to make a new one.
Re: Random: Valve's Latest Steam Deck Trailer Briefly Shows A Switch Emulator
@OrtadragoonX @Royalblues There is currently no waiting list, so you should receive a deck in 1-2 weeks.

Such a missed opportunity.
Natsume would have been an ideal dev to make a pixel based new instalment.
Re: Konami Is Bringing Suikoden I & II Back With HD Remasters On Switch Next Year
I hope the first game is based on the Saturn version as it had new locations, new enemies and more cutscenes.

Re: Square Enix Announces PowerWash Simulator For Nintendo Switch
Square Enix are releasing far more games for the Switch than Nintendo.
I reckon this one will sell well and really clean up.
Re: Konami Teases New Game In Beloved Series For Tokyo Game Show
Gradius V please. It’s never been released for a portable system.
Re: Sunsoft Hosting New Digital Event To Announce Upcoming Titles
My favourites had to be Batman on MD and GB, Super Fantasy Zone on MD and they did an amazing port of Lemmings for the SFC.

Re: Back Page: Making The Perfect Nintendo Frankenconsole
@dew12333
Why the keyboard warrior sarcasm?
Steam are hoping that production will improve shortly and it is priced at a similar cost to the Switch OLED.
Nintendo's pricing model for the Switch is embarrassing. Essentially 7 year old mobile tech at full retail 5 years on.
Great for Nintendo, Not so great for developers and end users.
Re: Back Page: Making The Perfect Nintendo Frankenconsole
Buy a steam deck. It ticks most boxes and plays every generation of Nintendo games.
Re: Microsoft Renews Trademark For Rare's Classic N64 Game Blast Corps
The game is on Rare Replay along with Viva Piñata so is probably just related to that.

The PS3/PC release would be ideal for Switch

Re: We're Really Hoping Team Ladybug's New Shmup 'DRANIUS' Comes To Switch

Re: Namco's Yokai Dochuki, Renamed 'Shadowland', Is The Next Arcade Archives Game On Switch
This game used to be known in the west as Tales of the Monster Path on the FC/PCE. It's worth a try.
Re: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Scores A Physical Switch Release, Pre-Orders Open Later This Week
People were complaining because of all the WiiU ports, god knows how dipping further into the Wii back catalogue is going to go down.
Re: New Trailer For Capcom Fighting Collection Released, Switch eShop Pre-Orders Go Live
It looks like a preorder will also add the bonus of a free download of 3 Wonders on the new Arcade Stadium collection.
Definitely worth checking out if you haven't played them before.
Re: Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium Announced For Switch, Will Include 32 Classic Games
Wonder 3/3 Wonders is a great Capcom game(s). It’s also a £200 import only title so the chance to play on Switch would be amazing.

@HammerGalladeBro but it won’t be your accomplishment as you used the SP ROM to see the ending leaving it as a bit of a hollow victory.

@OorWullie it’s basically a reskin of their previous game Infinos Gaiden. Unfortunately, it’s a PC/Steam exclusive but it is highly recommended.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Sonic The Hedgehog 2
Empire online have given it 2 stars. They say it’s a half term cash in with only Jim Carrey almost saving it.
They often mark movies on the low side So it may just be a case of being overly hypercritical.
