LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is off to a fantastic start in the UK, sitting atop the top ten boxed charts and knocking Kirby and the Forgotten Land down into second place.
It's no surprise either; excitement for the revamped LEGO game covering all nine mainline Star Wars films was sky-high, and we thought it was an excellent take on the franchise, awarding it a 9/10 in our review.
LEGO Harry Potter Collection also received a nice boost, coming in at number fifteen. It sold gangbusters on the Switch, taking in 63% of sales on Nintendo's console, whereas the PS4 took 21%, and the Xbox One took 16%.
Otherwise, it's business as usual, with the likes of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Minecraft, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons all enjoying strong sales and retaining visibility within the top ten.

Fifa 11? How the f*** has that got 3rd 😂
Not bad for a playstation 3 game
@UltimateOtaku91 That was a test! Well done, you passed.
I have skywalker saga but haven’t started it yet. My little girl and I are going thru lego Jurassic park first. I also picked up dc villains, Harry Potter, lego marvel 1 & 2, and lego city just recently on switch. So far I’ve enjoyed what I’ve played, I’d like to try lego Batman 3 as well.
I think you’ll find it covers all nine mainline Star Wars movies, not 6 as mentioned in your article.
LEGO Star Wars has the high ground! Don't try it Kirby. Another great week for Switch software, represented in 6 spots (I think.) Although, I do have to say, I'm starting to want the next Switch now...please...
@Nightcrawler71 There were only 6 films made, I thought.
Anyone know if a purchase made on a Sunday morning would be included in the sales figures making up this chart? I finally took the plunge on Kirby yesterday and I'm curious to know if my sale contributed this week or next.
Kirby did well for second place on week number three in UK.
i couldnt be less interested in LEGO games. I'm shocked by how popular they apparently are.
if it were exactly the same game but just the movie license and not LEGO, im pretty sure it wouldnt get a 9.
Kirbys still selling well 3 weeks in. Although I've completed it, I'm going back to all the levels to get the rest of the Waddle Dees, it has plenty of replay value. Best title of the year so far..
Kirby >>> any Lego game.
At least Kirby is above Fifa, everything is fine by me.
Kirby holding strong at #2 after serious competition is a great sign.
Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga is the fastest-selling Lego game of all time at UK retail and the 2nd fastest-selling retail game of the year (only behind Pokemon Legends Arceus).
Kirby staying top 2 for 3 weeks is still pretty great.
Hopefully no Horizon Forbidden West is a sign the normal consumer doesn't want £70 games.
Both the reasonably priced Elden Ring and Legends Arceus still enjoying massive sales.
not surprising the Skywalker Sage is so good
Personally skywalker saga is around fifth place for me. Behind city, dc villains, lego marvel 1, and lego marvel 2.
It suffers from the same problem Mario odyssey did for me. Too many kyber bricks making them feel less impactful. I swear every other brick was just sitting in a random corner with no puzzle to do. Still an amazing game though.
The Lego Star Wars game deserves every sale it gets, and it would be interesting to see how well the Switch version has sold, as it's looks pretty good, and Lego games seem to be at home on Nintendo's consoles.
Playing the Series X version myself, and the games Star Wars locations are top tier.
The image used looks a bit on the hi res glossy side to be a switch screenshot.
Very tempted by the new Lego game, but I know how quickly they get discounted/updated with dlc, so waiting really is the sensible choice.
@TYRANACLES As someone who's played many Lego games, I must warn you, Lego Batman 3 is meh. It's a fine game but that's about it. If you're going to play Lego Batman the other Batman games are much better.
Great to see Skywalker Saga sell quite well on Switch. Also great to see Kirby still hanging on #2.
Mario Kart and Animal Crossing are such beasts in these sales charts.
Darn. Was hoping Kirby would stay on there but I forget how big Lego toys are and Star Wars is. Just not what I think of when I think gaming tho. I'm just that way with licensed games.
Still Kirby has sold well so far and can't wait to see US numbers as well
I never like LEGO Star Wars since I really don't like most Western franchises such as Star Wars, Marvel, Harry Potter, Jurassic, etc but I only like LEGO CITY UNDERCOVER since the theme was Normal peoples job like police, firefighters, farmer, cons worker, astronaut, etc.
I played LEGO CITY UNDERCOVER for three times (Wii U, Switch & PS4 + 3DS ) and still like the game.
@uptownsoul ,
Thanks for that, would expect the Switch version to do better, considering the user base.
Impressive.
Most impressive. 😈
I don't like lego games because I have found the combat simple, and flawed and also the building gameplay loop is just boring for me. Does the skywalker saga change the gameplay up enough for it actually to be fun?
Elden Ring dropped to 6th? We had a good month of think pieces like "how Elden Ring helped me understand Chopin" and "this guy beat Elden Ring on a paintbrush" I mean, y'all just going to pretend that Elden Ring didn't teach you to love again or learn to accept your driving skills? Do you think LEGO Star Wars or Kirby is going to help you achieve the same level of deep introspection?
I can't even play the Lego game because of the crashes/freezes and bugs...how is it topping Kirby? :/
Poor Kirby. Everybody keeps picking on Kirby.
@GrailUK No, there were only 3 movies.
@Nightcrawler71 Only 6 Star Wars films exist.
@johnvboy Sony is more popular with the UK audience than Nintendo. Usually when it comes to third party multiplat games, the Nintendo version is usually the last one people will pick up not because of the audience but because its the worst version and the more expensive one. People in poor country don't want to spend more and get bareboned value which is why most aim for the cheapest version knowing it would at least run good.
@Olliemar28
That was a nice save if ever I've seen one.
@Nightcrawler71 There are only 6 films.
@Nightcrawler71 I agree with everyone else. There’s only 6. The sequels have been struck from the canon in my head. They were atrocious. Monstrosities. I’ve read fan fiction that’s better. Hell, my fan fiction was better (when I actually wrote some back in the 90’s). I’ve seen coloring books with better stories. They should have hired the writers from Teletubbies. That would have been better. Some episodes from the Golden Girls played out better than the sequels. Should I keep going? Yeah, the prequels had its bad moments but at least it was true to the lore and the characters. It fit in and felt like a connecting trilogy. Anyway I digress.
The best parts of Lego Skywalker Saga are episodes 4,5, 7,8,9. I really like the prequel movies more, but this Lego game makes the last 3 more tolerable. They even poke fun at the atrocious 8th movie in a great way. Kylo Ren was a great character wasted in ho hum movies.
@Purgatorium Kirby yes, Lego no
It's over, Kirby, I have the high ground!
You literally shared lego Harry Potter sales numbers because skywalker saga sold more on ps5 didn't you? Wow. What a joke.
Why is everyone saying there are only 6 SW films? Whether you like the prequels/sequels or not, this game is based on all 9 movies And just out of interest, which trilogy are people ignoring? The prequel trilogy got a lot of hate back in the day, but people are now ok with it? Who’s to say they won’t feel the same way about the sequel trilogy in 20 years time.
@uptownsoul Wow, astounded that the PS5 version was the best selling one. Well done PS5!
