If you're a fan of the Kunio-kun fighting series and its spin-off River City Girls, then you might want to keep an eye on The Legend of the Dragonflame High School Collection from publisher Ratalaika Games.
Due for release today on the Switch for $4.99 / £4.99, the collection features two games' worth of classic beat-em-up gameplay. You'll be learning various special attacks, utilising items as weapons, and purchasing food to recover health and buff up your character.
Here's a list of features from Ratalaika Games:
- 2D Beat 'Em Up game inspired by arcade classics
- Both The Legend of the Dragonflame Highschool 1 & 2 included
- Character development elements including experience and skills
If you're after more modernised takes on the beat-em-up genre, be sure to check out our reviews of River City Girls and Streets of Rage 4, both of which we enjoyed immensely.

TBH this Looks like shovelware that wants to target accidental purchase by people that think this is the kunio kun/river city ransom collection.
Just looks ridiculously bad. Imagine dropping £500 on a PS5 to play this.
This doesn't look good in the slightest, makes me wanna go for ransom!
Would not play this even if I got paid for it. What a waste of time.
More like Kunio-Kun from Wish.com
This looks awful.
Something unfortunately feels really off...
I'm not loving the westernised kunio-kun ripoff artwork either.
The ”No, we already have … at home” meme comes to mind.
Only here to see if all the commenters from the zelda inspired games who claim, "they shouldn't be allowed to release because they copied so much," are here... I guess not (yet anyways). I imagine only specific games get that type of energy, regardless.
I don't know Kunio well enough to say this is pretty much plagiarism, but it happens to have soccer, too. 🤔 Some games are too low profile to sue over I suppose.
