I’m still amazed it took years for a Darkstalkers game to finally come out on a Nintendo console. I don’t think it has happened before, unless there’s some Game Boy version out there that I don’t know of.
I never expected to play these games again, especially Red Earth and Gem Fighters! As soon as I can I'll preorder. Now if only Capcom made a deal with Marvel to release all the fighting games they made, now that would be amazing.
It looks like a preorder will also add the bonus of a free download of 3 Wonders on the new Arcade Stadium collection.
Definitely worth checking out if you haven't played them before.
Preordered mine with Gamestop. I'll support anything Darkstalkers. One of my top 3 fighting franchises alongside Samurai Showdown and Killer Instinct. Thank you Capcom!!
so, so excited to play puzzle fighter ii turbo on the switch. no more of that unpleasant nicalis knock-off
Ten must have classic, 60fps gameplay, rollback netcode online play, local multiplayer, unlockable extras, and all games on the cartridge. This is what a true collection should be like, all companies needs to do this.
Knowing how these days companies can completely screw even such a simple thing as a rom collection release, I will hold on until reviews.
Wouldn't mind a Marvel collection at some point:
X-Men: Children of the Atom
Marvel Super Heroes
X-Men vs. Street Fighter
Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter
Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes
Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes
@shonenjump86 It just wasn't that popular compare to Street Fighter and every Darkstalkers home ports weren't selling that well which is why Capcom is hesitant to bring it back or make anymore ports or sequels. Sony and Sega weren't really doing a good job of helping Capcom marketing the games either so only a slight few gamers knew about the series. Darkstalkers did kinda had a bit of shine when in crossover titles like in Pocket Fighter, Super Puzzle Fighters II Turbo, Namco X Capcom, Marvel vs. Capcom, Cross Edge, and Project X Zone but other than that the series was pretty much unknown within the gaming community.
@Scapetti That Marvel collection would be more awesome if they add the two Super NES games as well, notice how there is a trend there whereas the first game involve the X-Men, the second one always involve MARVEL. The first Super NES Capcom Marvel game is X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse, the second is Marvel Super Heroes in War of the Gems, then in the arcade the first is X-Men: Children of the Atom and then the second is Marvel Super Heroes again and then when they do the crossover it's the X-Men that fought the Street Fighter first and then it's Marvel Super Heroes fighting the Street Fighter next. The trend then stop when they just make Marvel vs. Capcom.
X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse
Marvel Super Heroes in War of the Gems
X-Men: Children of the Atom
Marvel Super Heroes
X-Men vs. Street Fighter
Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter
Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes
Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes

As soon Disney Marvel give them a go I can see this coming sooner then we expect.
You have to Love license politics… wait until cloud gaming comes. 🙈
While Nintendo online support as well as not having a decent fightpad keeps the Switch from being a legit console for fighting games, I still have tons of fun with Street Fighter collection and was just baffled how I can enjoy all the classic I grew up while on the train to work and back. Looking very much forward to this collection as well, I'd probably even dive into the pre-order (though it's set for end of June, why already announce a pre-order now??) .
I only want it for Super Puzzle Fighter with online play so I don't know if it's worth it :-/ Never played any of the others games so not sure if I'd like them
I would have to be crazy not too get this, I have been wanting to play darkstalkers for a good wile, and now I can!
Looks good , but lol at pre-ordering digital goods, which have no production limit and no way to refund if bad. I'll wait for reviews, thanks.
I'll get it day one not just because of nostalgia but because all these games have stood up the test of time and are awesome games to be played anytime. I'm really hyped for this collection!
I really don't want to pay $40 to Oplay Puzzle Fighter. But I might.
My arcade stick is ready! Mayflash F500
Pre-ordered a physical copy last night. Really looking forward to playing all the games in this collection. Just in time for summer!
@SmaggTheSmug normally I’d agree with your apprehension but it’s Digital Eclipse behind the wheel. Their track record is pristine. It’s gonna be 👌
Physical copy in Europe? Or America and Japan only?
Now they need to release a collection of their arcade side scrolling beat em ups, like alien vs predator, the punisher, Cadillac vs dinosaurs etc. now that would be amazing and an instant buy for me
Just to clearify, the pre-order bonus is for the digital?
@RobotReptile That makes me a little sad. their implementation of GGPO on the SF collection is terrible.
I need to see reviews first
