Konami.......just hand over the reigns to the likes of M2 or Treasure and allow them to make some Sequels to your classic franchises. Goemon, Gradius, Sparkster, Contra, Castlevania, Axelay etc etc.
And in the meantime, can’t we have a port of Gradius V for the Switch?
At least they have donated nearly $200,000,000 to good causes over the last decade. I’ve supported them for years and have had more than good value out of my return. F1 2020 and Shenmue III are included this month.
As for 15% not being adequate, overheads must have become problematic for them. If everyone slides the charity slider as far over as they can how could they survive?
Check out the small print for some of the charities who send clothing bags to your home and see how much of the proceeds make it back. It’s often as little as 2.5%.
Really don’t understand how there can be too much of a good thing? If I lacked adequate knowledge of the genre I certainly would withhold From making uneducated comments.
There are literally hundreds of shooting titles which would be welcome on the platform but will be unlikely to see a release, so every one which does get a release is a real treat. It’s not as if it robs us of releases in other genres.
I’ve played it on xbox series x and despite having the same shortcomings, the smoother Frame rate, more detailed graphics and higher res improve things enough to make it a little more palatable.
"It looks just like a switch"..........no it doesn't. The Switch looks like dozens of android based gaming tablets with controls that have been churned out of China for the last decade.
@Anti-Matter GMD/Bemani ‘games’ have always had limited appeal outside of Asia and cannot be classed as part of Konami’s Glory Days as far home releases are concerned. Many people will argue they had a rapid decline in ‘overall’ quality after their transition from 16 to 32 bit systems. They struggled to get to grips with polygon based games when they excelled in the unfashionable 2D sprite based titles. In the early days of Ps1/N64 and Saturn their best titles were still 2D and they were few and far between.
I’m their heyday Konami were a major force with masses of dev teams across multiple home computer, console and arcade platforms but that is sadly a distant memory.
@nimnio shonky online, performance problems and the issues mentioned with the new additional game (his words not mine) would suggest there is plenty of room for improvement with this release. That being the case, surely a 10 doesn't correlate with his review.

Re: Konami Won't Be Attending E3 2021 But Still Has A Number Of Projects To Reveal
Konami jumped the shark when they released the Otomedius games. They were obviously a shell of their previous selves.
Re: Feature: Every Mega Man Game Ranked
Rockman and Forte/Megaman and Bass seems very low. I’d have used the SFC version ahead of the GBA one as it’s far superior.
It also uses many assets from the Saturn/PS1 Rockman 8.

Re: Talking Point: Why Did Nintendo Give Up On Its 'Classic Edition' Concept So Soon?
@stinky_t it’s called the Switch Lite.

Re: Cotton Guardian Force Saturn Tribute Announced For Nintendo Switch
@NotoriousWhiz they're all in English. They are shoot em ups so it's all action and no text. Even the option menus are English on these 3 games.
Re: Cotton Guardian Force Saturn Tribute Announced For Nintendo Switch
I see Deathsmiles 1&2 is coming to Switch as well. Really excited to see more 32/64 bit games making their way onto Switch.
Re: Cotton Guardian Force Saturn Tribute Announced For Nintendo Switch
3 of my favourite Saturn shooters. I'll definitely pre order an import copy.
Re: Video: Why Do We Buy And Collect Retro Video Games?
Because the magic of early 90's konami/capcom/nintendo/treasure/sega games has never been replicated consistently since then.
Re: VIZ Media Reveals Cover Art For Pokémon: Sword & Shield, Vol. 1 Manga
When I saw the headline, I was hoping for the much anticipated Roger Mellie Odyssey.
Re: The Balan Wonderworld Demo Is Being Taken Down Today
It’s a sad thing day when you realise Naka-San is washed up and bereft of good ideas.
Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge Confirmed For Switch, New Trailer
Just hope they can capture that Magic early 90’s Konami feel.
My only gripe is that it looks a little too pixelated. Still a day one purchase regardless.
Re: Nintendo Actually Responded To A Fan Request Asking For Rayman In Smash
@HamatoYoshi @Ooyah have you played Horace? For me, it's the best recreation of a UK bedroom coded game I've ever played.
'Member Jet Set Willy?' Yeah, I member!
Re: Nintendo Actually Responded To A Fan Request Asking For Rayman In Smash
@HamatoYoshi screw MS, lets get a Gremlin X Nintendo colab in the works.
Re: Soapbox: It's Time For Nintendo's Sonic Mania Moment
A great Nintendo system launch title was Wave Race, I would love to see it make a comeback on a revised Switch.
In the meantime, try the GameCube version on Dolphin and upscale as far as your setup will allow. It looks amazing.
Re: Feature: Best NES Games
Not sure how shooters like the original pop ‘n twin bee can be on the list but there are no sign of almost SNES quality titles such as Crisis Force.
Re: Balan Wonderworld Is Getting A Suspicious Amount Of 10/10 Metacritic User Reviews
I’ve played it on xbox series x and despite having the same shortcomings, the smoother Frame rate, more detailed graphics and higher res improve things enough to make it a little more palatable.
I’d mark it a 6 on Xbox and 4 on Switch.
Re: Tencent Has Patented Its Own Handheld Console, And It Looks A Lot Like A Nintendo Switch

Re: Review: WRC 9 The Official Game - The Best Rally Game On Switch, But That's Not Saying Much
@NorseGamerTommy probably because the PS3 was in its day graphically far more capable than the Switch.
Switch needs its own games, not poorly programmed ports of games made for more powerful systems first (PS4/5, Xbone etc)
Re: Rustler Is A Medieval GTA Coming To Switch This Year
I'd love to see a new Chinatown Wars too. It was a great mix of the old and new style GTA's
Re: Rustler Is A Medieval GTA Coming To Switch This Year
@Mountain_Man never mind that, we still need GTA V. I find it hard to believe Rockstar haven’t managed to expand their online user base on Switch.
Hopefully they may announce something alongside the PS5 and Series S/X ports.
Re: Rustler Is A Medieval GTA Coming To Switch This Year
Hope it's better than the microwave burgers they make
Re: Reminder: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Leaves The eShop On March 31st
@Muh-ario Backwards compatibility has absolutely nothing to do with sharing the same media format from one console to another.
It is achieved by system architecture similarities (hardware BC) from one generation to the next or is written into the system kernel (software BC).
Re: Reminder: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Leaves The eShop On March 31st
The ports were bare bones and half arsed.
A years old Shield TV Galaxy port and SM64 which was bettered by the Switch Homebrew Comminity left me cold.
Here’s to the re-release/remasters in 2025.
Re: Balan Wonderworld Is Getting A Day-One Patch To Address Demo Feedback
Yes it was disappointing, but I still enjoyed myself despite the lack of challenge. Will go for the Series X port to see it in its ‘best’ light.
Re: Samsung To "Aggressively Position" OLED Tech Across Promising Market Sectors Including "Gaming Console Segments"
@Thoughts only LG make panels for the home tv market, Samsung make them in smaller sizes for phone, laptop and tablet brands etc.
Re: Monster Jam Steel Titans 2 Speeds Onto Nintendo Switch Today
@sixrings not as high as the screenshots in this article
Re: Video: We Take A Look At The Hidden Mario Golf Game That Didn't Star Mario
Only 1 golf game is needed on Switch and we already have it.....Neo Turf Masters.
Re: Panzer Dragoon II Zwei: Remake Takes Flight This Year
Such a shame that M2 didn’t handle these ports.
Forever Entrainment leave me with little to no confidence.

@abdias or sounded angry in the Japanese DC games
Re: Rumour: 'Switch Pro' Console Still Aiming For 2021 Launch, According To Known Insider
@sanderev let’s hope NVIDIA power management on these new chipsets continues the trend seen in the revised X1 switch.
I forgot to add we need a borderless display when we’re at it too.
Re: Rumour: 'Switch Pro' Console Still Aiming For 2021 Launch, According To Known Insider
Definitely love the sound of a 4K docked, 1080p Handheld upgrade.
Let’s call it the Nintendo Super Switch and launch it with BOTW2
Re: Momotaro Dentetsu's 11-Week Run Atop The Japanese Charts Sets A 20-Year Record
@DjinnFighter in the 80's it was Konami and the MSX, the 90's were all about Konami and the Super Famicom.
For me, they were every bit as good a developer as Nintendo.
Re: Momotaro Dentetsu's 11-Week Run Atop The Japanese Charts Sets A 20-Year Record
@Anti-Matter I'm sure the 90's were Konami's glory days. By 2000 they had already started to strip down the home console dev teams.
I doubt they could make a game these days without outsourcing.
Re: Arika Announces Fighting EX Layer: Another Dash For Nintendo Switch
This is better than ANY announcement from the direct.
Day 1 for me and it should be for anyone who loves 1 on 1 fighters.
Re: Two Of Capcom's Legendary Street Fighters Drop Into Fortnite
@Snatcher I’d say it does.
They have stripped the characters of their defining features and gave them a more neutral western look.
Chun-Li no longer looks Chinese nor does Ryu look Japanese.
Re: Two Of Capcom's Legendary Street Fighters Drop Into Fortnite
@Clyde_Radcliffe not so much in colour but in their facial features.
They look far less Asian and more like Westerners.
Re: Zelda Remake Specialist Grezzo Appears To Have Helped Out With Miitopia's Nintendo Switch Port
The most interesting part of the Miitopia reveal for me was seeing a 3DS port on Switch.
Surely this opens up the library for more releases.
Re: Two Of Capcom's Legendary Street Fighters Drop Into Fortnite
They both look whitewashed.
Why??
Re: Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Hits Switch This July Alongside Themed Joy-Con

Re: Review: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury - A Superb Mario Adventure With A Bowser Bonus
Chris cannot seem to grasp the reason for the negative overall reaction to his review score.
So many small and some larger issues must surely equate to something below a maximum score.
It obviously doesn't sit well compared to the overall tone of the review.
Re: Sonic's Voice Actor From Sonic Adventure Has Already Contacted Sega About A Possible Return
Who’s this Bob Hopkins character?
Re: Japanese Charts: Switch Games Make Up The Entire Top 20
The PS5 stock situation is the same in Japan as in the west so the figures are more indicative of huge supply issues.
Japanese auction site prices are achieving double the retail price.
Re: The First Review For Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Is Now In
@SilentHunter382 you’ll be waiting a long time. BOTW (a wii u game) still cannot achieve a stable 30fps on switch after nearly 4 years.
