If you get joy out of washing and cleaning with hoses, you might want to keep an eye out for PowerWash Simulator. At the Tokyo Game Show today earlier today, Square Enix announced FuturLab Limited would be bringing the game to Switch at some point in the near future. This independant studio originally teamed up with SE last May as part of a Square Enix Collective collab.
As you can see in the amusing promotional video above, your job is to clean everything in sight with lots of water as you build your own power-washing business. This leads to new tools and upgrades to make the task easier. There's also a career mode - where you complete an assortment of "dirty jobs", and there's online co-op, too.
Here's a full rundown (via Xbox.com), along with a look:
Release the Pressure with PowerWash Simulator! Wash away your worries with the soothing sounds of high-pressure water. Fire up your power washer and blast away every speck of dirt and grime you can find. Build your own power-washing business and unlock new tools, upgrades and more – all with the simple satisfaction of power-washing to a sparkling finish.
TIME TO CLEAN UP THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
Build up your business in Career Mode and complete a variety of dirty jobs across the dusty town of Muckingham. There's no right or wrong; no time pressure or final score, just you and the tools you need to soak away your stress. Want a clean start? Chill out and replay your favourite jobs in Free Play.
POWERWASH AND CHILL
Relax, unwind, and play with friends in Online Co-Op! Lend a helping hand to your closest pal in Career Mode, or up to 6 friends can splash around in Free Play, tackling any job the host has already completed.
KEEP IT CLEAN
For those looking for a little more pressure, beat your best scores in Challenge Mode! Fight grime in different scenarios; wash against the clock in Time Challenge or test your accuracy by using as little water as possible in Water Challenge.
GOOD CLEAN FUN
Graffiti, grime, moss, and mould, no dirt is too tough for your range of washers, nozzles, cleaners, and extensions. Different dirt types have different levels of toughness, so make sure you're getting tactical with your equipment. Feeling fancy? Then customise your look with washer skins and gloves!

This, this is vary random lol.
Square Enix are releasing far more games for the Switch than Nintendo.
I reckon this one will sell well and really clean up.
Surprised it's not another farming rpg.
Obvious cross-over promotion? Have an ink-filled Splatoon level there for the cleaning in place of the [redacted in case of game spoilers] level.
This would have been a great April Fool's joke.
One of my favorite games this year is actually lawn mowing simulator and I wish that it was on the switch… with that said if it’s the same type of game… this could be pretty pointlessly fun.
Splatoon Cleaning Service edition.
This game is genuinely very good. It's like a whole game of the Mario Sunshine levels in which you have to clean up the gloopy mess.
If any game would benefit from HD rumble, it would be this.
I bet There’s gonna be dlc where you play as cloud and sephiroth
Is that Stingray from Cobra Kai?
"Dirty jobs"? Like, you have to hose down a murder scene to wash away the evidence?
This is the second most random Switch port I've read about in the last five minutes, after Rose and Camellia:

Played this on my Series X thru Game Pass, it's fun and relaxing. I might pick up the Switch version if it has a physical release and gyro aiming.
Square Enix choosing the games to invest into wisely, I see.
Good use of gyro and HD rumble and this could be great fun.
Played this on game pass it’s very relaxing not sure I would actually buy it though
Will never understand how someone could find that "game" enjoyable at all.
I have been playing it on Game Pass and it is strangely addictive. Can zone out, listen to some music and just crack on. In shortish bursts its quite fun but I do fall into the I'll clean it to 50% then stop and invariably carry on. Of course its not everyones cup of tea...
Is this a joke? Thought April was over.
Give me gyro or give me death.
@AlexOlney Only for when the camera is locked — gryo camera controls (looking at you, Splatoon 2) gives me major motion sickness
It's been a huge hit and it's a surprisingly relaxing experience. I've had a Steam Deck for a few months and this is second only to Vampire Survivors as my most played games on the thing.
Super Mario sunshine did it first lol
This is published by Square Enix?!
This is so bizarre LOL I love it. It's nice to see them make something other than a Jrpg.
Yes I know they have made games from other genres before. just saying.
I've been playing this game and is really good. In fact, i can't believe how addicting it is. I saw my hours put into it and it has been 8 hours and i've just done 6 cleans. The last one i did was park for kids and damn... Those kids are extreme pigs, i can't believe what a mess they did to the park with all that dirtyness.
This game is amazing. I've been playing it for months on Game Pass.
It sounds really dull on paper but it's honestly one of the most relaxing and cathartic experiences ever! Multiplayer is fun too
I've heard it's an amazingly chill game, but physical release or pass for me.
I'm buying day 1.
@Mioaionios is this not Final Fantasy 17?
Why wasnt this in the direct???
@Zulzar Square didn't make this, they just published it. It was made by FuturLab, and I think it's safe to say this game was their first big hit https://futurlab.co.uk/games/
@Kermit1
Lolz, perhaps it is.
@TMNHertl You got a short window of time before it's day 2
I already finished this on my Deck and my XBOX. Now I will get to finish it a 3rd time. It’s that good.
I admit I just assumed this was already on Switch.
I also never realized this game was associated with Square Enix-what the heck? I suppose it can join the 7 Square Enix games from the recent Nintendo Direct.
I want Viscera Cleanup Detail instead of this simulator...
@Anti-Matter That should be an activity while waiting for a full lobby, or a new match to start, in Splatoon. Or even just a simple 2d loading screen game. But I seem to remember that loading screen games are copyrighted, and that's why we can't have fun.
I haven't played this, but in general Futurlab is an amazing studio. Velocity 2X is my all time top five games.
Got it on Games Pass. Very calming game.
It sounds weird, but I've been hooked on games like this lately. House Flipper, Train Station Renovation, Gas Station Simulator, PC Building Simulator... I don't know if I want a new job, or if I just like simulating doing something actually productive.
Up… and dooooown!
Cleaners better than dirty. And ditty’s meaner than clean! 😂 Another “exciting” announcement. 😏
Played the hell out of this on GP, will happily purchase it for Switch.
Replace these two live action characters with Cloud and Zack and you will see the game flying off store shelves. Do it Square Enix.
Went and found the trailer in english, and it's just not the same. The japanese lazily slapped on top really adds to the experience.
@Savage_Joe
True
Say whatever you want about Square Enix (they certainly have their faults), but their volume and frequency of game output is awesome.
... Wun can only hope.
Tried this out on Game Pass, and there’s a reason this game is probably the best Zen game of the year. So relaxing and mind numbing, very very easy to get lost in for a couple hours at a time. And what’s more, in career mode, you get that nice little dopamine kick at the end of a job by getting paid so you’re able to upgrade your kit to handle bigger jobs faster. SE basically turned an ASMR YouTube vid into a game.
@NinjaNicky Where is Labo when you need it?
Missed opportunity with the recent hose pipe ban but seriously simulator games really are decent id like to see games like Road traffic accident simulator where you got to look at it all and work it out with a breathalyzer mini game or breast enlargement simulator it would be like pulling Mario's face on the 64 see possibilitys endless
There really are some f*****d up games.
