Father's day is this weekend so I'm gonna spend a lot of time with my dad! I finished up my final projects for my classes so I may have more time to play games next week . I'm hoping to finally finish Tales of Arise. I'm about 31 hours into that game and I just defeated the fifth lord. I'm also about 21 hours into 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. I have been trying to beat both of these games since April 😅
To this day I still have not played this game. Part of me wants to try it because RPGs are my favorite genre and this game is so heavily praised. Yet for some reason it just doesn't look interesting to me.
I will be playing my favorite game called homework! Normally I'd try and finish my work before the weekend but this week my professor took a really long time to respond to my emails 😅. It's only one assignment though so maybe I'll have Sunday free.
I kind of wish there would be one because I'm starting to get that itch for a new Nintendo Direct lol. But hey I've had so little time to play games lately so it isn't the end of the world if there isn't one.
Still working on the same games: Tales of Arise and 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. I've been trying to beat these games for a while but I swear life has just been so busy lately 😅
I'm still going through 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim and Tales of Arise. Although I am going to hangout with some of my coworkers this weekend so I may not get that much time.
I might try and play 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim or Tales of Arise but I have no clue how much time I'll have this weekend 😅. I'm about 13 hours into both of them.
On Monday this week I actually finished Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed to 100% completion. I absolutely enjoyed the game and I actually wanted it to be a little longer because I was having so much fun lol. Now I'm tempted to replay the entire series through ng+ lol.
This weekend I might jump back into Tales of Arise or 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. I'm about 8 hours into both of them.
I ended up temporarily dropping everything else to play Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed. I'm currently on chapter 4 and I am addicted! So many questions are being answered! I made a big push to finish my all my work before the weekend just so I can spend the weekend playing this 😂
Currently on chapter 3 and I am loving it! This is one of those games where I'm even thinking about it at work 😂 I'm deliberately trying to finish up all my work early so I can spend my weekend playing it lol.
@larryisaman I'd definitely recommend playing the first 2 games before this. XC3 on its own didn't really reference much from the other games but this expansion is full of references so far!
I 100% agree. I know many DLCs provide new stories but man the way Torna revamped the battle mechanics (and frankly everything else) was amazing! I do remember disliking how side quests were mandatory, but when I did my completion playthrough last year I actually read the dialogue and found that most of the side quests were pretty fun! I genuinely cannot wait for Future Redeemed
Edit: I also think the battle with Malos at the end is perhaps the greatest boss fight in the series so far.
I'm actually in Kansas right now for a friend's wedding so I might not play much but on the way home maybe I'll play a little bit of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim I'm about 7 hours in now.
I also finally started Tales of Arise earlier this week. So far I'm really liking the combat and characters!
FF7 for me! I'm actually a relatively newer Final Fantasy fan though. I only played FF7 (the original) for the first time back in 2020. I mainly picked it up because it seemed like the most popular one and I knew Cloud from Smash Bros 😅
I was wondering when the review for these was coming! I'm definitely going to pick these up when they go on sale. I know the other final fantasy games on Switch go on sale multiple times throughout the year so I'm hoping that happens with these as well!
I finished Final Fantasy XIII this week and I can safely say that I don't think the game is as bad as most people make it out to be. The ending was a little confusing but I thought the game was good overall. I'm probably going to grab the sequels some time in the future.
I've recently started 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. I've heard so many wonderful things about this games story, so I'm really curious to see where it goes. Right now I'm only about 3 hours in and I don't really know what's going on. I guess that's because I'm still at the beginning of the game 😅.
I'll be playing Final Fantasy XIII again this weekend! I'm about 25 hours in and just reached Taejins tower! I'm also going to be seeing the Mario movie today so I'm pretty excited about that!
@MitchaK Turning off random encounters is also a thing in the ports of final fantasy 7, 8, and 9. I normally turned them off whenever I wanted to go exploring and then I turned them back on whenever I wanted to level up. I'd imagine it would be similar to how it works in those games
Last Saturday I finally finished Persona 5 Royal after about 120 hours. I think the game is solid overall but unfortunately, I ran into this annoying bug where after you beat the third phase of the final boss it gets stuck on a loading screen. I looked into it more and I guess it was linked to the fact that I had network functions turned on. So I had to force close the game and redo the fight all over again. It really soured my experience towards the end of the game and by time the credits rolled I was still annoyed lol.
Anyway I'm likely going to be playing Final Fantasy XIII over the weekend. I'm currently about 21 hours in and I just started chapter 11. So far I've been enjoying this game quite a lot. Sure the game is linear but it hasn't bothered me so far. I guess after playing so many games with big worlds to explore I don't mind playing something a bit more linear.
I'm 110 hours into Persona 5 Royal and this game still isn't done. I really thought I was close to the end last week but I guess not lol. I'm not a stranger to long games and I enjoyed Persona 5 enough to keep playing...At this point though, I really feel like this game is too long.
The demo from Dragon Quest XI was pretty much the reason why I got the game. It was simply amazing! Theatrhythm and Triangle Strategy also have great demos
The demo from Sonic frontiers sucked though. I couldn't even tell if I liked the game or not 😅
I am now 90 hours into Persona 5 Royal and I'm towards the end of the 7th palace! I just found out that Shido is Akechis father! I really wasn't expecting that. Anyway, the Akechi fight was really something crazy. Towards the end I saw the cognitive version of Akechi and he has the creepiest faces in the game so far 😅 Idk how close I am to the end but I think I might try and finish the game this weekend if possible!
I'm also 12 hours into Final Fantasy XIII and this game really isn't as bad as I've heard everyone say imo. Sure it's a bit linear but it hasn't bothered me and I've been loving the combat system!
I loved this area solely because of how uncomfortable it made me 😂 it's very strange because I normally hate horror games or jump scares in general. I don't think I'll ever forget the first time I ran into Nosk omg...I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't that!
I'm now 83 hours into Persona 5 Royal and a lot has happened story wise! I can't say I'm super surprised that Akechi was a bad guy. I think I got a pretty big hunch when he told joker how much he hated him lol. I've gotta say though every time a characters portrait changes to something I haven't seen it low-key freaks me out and I love it 😂. I'm also quite amazed at some of the hints they gave early on in the game. Like the conversation about pancakes went right over my head until they did a flashback to it! I'm now at the beginning of the 7th palace but admittedly, I think I'm starting to get burnt out a bit so I'm going to take another break.
I ended up starting Final Fantasy XIII on steam a few days ago. I'm only 3 hours in (chapter 2 I believe) but I don't hate it so far. I've also enjoyed the combat system up to this point and I'm pretty excited to keep playing!
I also finished Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars earlier this week. I think it was solid overall but I'm not super eager to dive into one of the other games in the series yet. I might get another if it goes on a steep enough sale. I'm a little bit disappointed that this game ended up having multiple endings because it really felt like it didn't need it.
I am now 72 hours into Persona 5 Royal and the story has really started to kick it up a notch. Towards the end of the 5th palace I got a little annoyed with the last airlock puzzle and it actually took me a few attempts to beat the boss. The story that happened afterwards though really shocked me. I'm about to start the 6th palace and I'm eager to see where the story goes!
I know 2017 will probably get the most votes but for me personally, the only games I loved were Xenoblade 2, Splatoon 2, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (I enjoyed botw and odyssey but not to the same level).
2019 might be my pick. Dragon Quest XI, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Luigi's Mansion 3, The Witcher 3, Astral Chain, Mario Maker 2, and a boatload of final fantasy games (haven't played any of them until they came to switch).
2022 would be a close second with Xenoblade 3, Splatoon 3, Kirby and the Forgotten land, and Triangle Strategy being my favorites. Plus this year finally brought us the persona games! (Still going through persona 5 lol).
Overall I don't think I hated any year from the switch. In fact, every year has produced a favorite switch game of mine.
I am now 60 hours into Persona 5 Royal and I'm just about to start the 5th palace. I'm going to try and make some progress there.
I've also hopped back into Final Fantasy 14 for a little. I'm about 22 hours into ARR and I gotta say... outside of a few cool moments...it's still overall kind of boring 😅
I am 50 hours into Persona 5 Royal now and I've just finished up the fourth palace. So I'll likely make more progress there.
Also I've returned to Xenoblade Chronicles 3 after the third wave of DLC dropped. I've gotta say the new character is insane. Crit based healing? If I build the character right I'll probably never have to heal again 😂
I'm also still playing RuneScape. It's been so long since I was last hooked on the game like this 😂

I seriously have no clue what to expect from this Direct. I think we'll see the Persona 3 remake but that's the only thing I'm expecting lol.

Re: Two Switch Games Will "No Longer Be Available" On The eShop
Man, idk what is happening with NISA. They already take ages to localize games and I feel like half of their ports haven't been that great either.

47 hours into Persona 5 Royal now (lol I can't believe how long this game is). I left off on the fourth palace so I'll probably do that!
