I am currently 12 hours into my first playthrough of Xenogears! It's really fun so far! It's quite funny because normally I would say I hate wild encounters but Xenogears is probably one of the exceptions that I'd make. I love doing the combos and so far the battles haven't been too long!
Earlier this week I finished Final Fantasy VIII. I know this one is a bit divisive and I did have a few complaints here and there but honestly, I enjoyed it! I really loved using the junction system and playing the card mini game 😂.
Now I've decided to start a game that I've wanted to play for a very long time and that is Xenogears! I have only heard good things about this game and I'm quite curious to see what the hype is about! Hoping I can finish this one before Xenoblade 3 comes out!
The new interlink system looks freaking amazing!! I'm REALLY looking forward to getting my hands on it! It looks like you can Daze enemies like in Xenoblade 1 AND Launch them like in Xenoblade 2!
@AndyC_MK111 Atlus themselves also stated that they were satisfied with the sales of SMT V back when it hit 800k so I really don't know why these other guys are acting like it was a flop.
So I'm continuing through Final Fantasy VIII and I'm currently on Disc 3! So far so good! Funny story though I was looking up some guides on the GFs (Guardian Forces) and I guess Google doesn't understand what "GF" means so the related questions will come up as stuff like
I don't care for this game, i dunno why they insist on releasing more of these games, the entire franchise has sold less than 5m copies. 4 games with less than 5m sales between them isn't good.
This isn't true. Yes it's a smaller seller but the Xenoblade franchise actually has broke 5 million within 3 games (there's isn't 4 games unless you count Torna but there's no official numbers for that).
Xenoblade 1 lifetime sales: 3 million
Xenoblade 2 lifetime sales: 2.05 million
Xenoblade X lifetime sales: 840k
I've seen people say they don't know why this series continues but it's pretty simple. Even though it isn't the best selling series from Nintendo, it's the best selling franchise from Monolith Soft so they continue to make games for it. It's the same reason why Kirby gets more games despite being a modest seller like Xenoblade.
I know you said they should make a new IP but Nintendo has shot down most of Monolith Softs ideas which make them even more likely to just focus on this series for the time being. (They wanted to make an M rated title a few years back).
@Lizuka I have a dumb theory that they do this to show which ones are connected story wise. Maybe if Xenoblade X gets a sequel it'll look closer to the Xenoblade X cover? 🤔
I seriously cannot wait for this game omg! Xenoblade 1 and 2 are both some of my favorite RPGs of all time. Seeing how Xenoblade 3 ties the futures of the two previous games together means that this could definitely end up being my favorite Xenoblade game and it excites me to no end 😂
I've been continuing Final Fantasy VIII and I just made it to the end of disc 1 on Thursday. I have to be honest, so far I'm very thoroughly enjoying it and I don't quite understand why it's so divisive. Personally, I really enjoy the junction system and the card minigame. Not to mention stealing the train with the Forest Owls, and trying to assassinate the sorceress was super fun. I guess I'll find out why as I continue but so far I love it.
Last night I came home and I was planning on continuing FF8 but I had a new idea for a build in Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition so I told myself I would only test it out for 30 minutes. Well, I ended up playing it for like 3 hours lol. I'm telling you even after 100% completion I always get sucked back into it!
It's really funny seeing everyone talk about how bad E3 was last year. When I think of last years E3 the first thing that comes to my mind is Nintendos Direct and the Metroid Dread announcement so I remember it being pretty good. I completely forgot about all the other companies that presented and how disappointing they were lol😅
Last night I actually finished two games. I finished Fossil Fighters which was a fantastic game. I can't believe I haven't heard of it until now. Idk if it'll happen but I would like to see a Fossil Fighters game on switch sometime! I might try Fossil Fighters: Champions later in the future!
The other game I finished was God of War: Chains of Olympus. This was my first God of War game and it was alright. It was shorter than I thought it would be and nothing really stood out to me.
During the weekend I'm likely going to continue Final Fantasy VIII. I can't lie though...I've had this big craving to play Xenogears lately as well but I don't want to play multiple JRPGs at the same time 😅
I'm currently playing through Final Fantasy VIII (seriously the card mini game is so fun 😂) and I've heard a lot of hype behind Triangle Strategy so I also started the demo for that game! Really enjoying both so far!
Last night I managed to finish Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna The Golden Country to 100% completion! I did this on ng+ so I maxed out everyone's new affinity charts as well! Honestly in my first playthrough I remember being very annoyed that they made side quests mandatory so I kinda just mashed through the text on most of them. However on my second playthrough I gave each side quest my full focus and I realized a majority of these side quests are actually pretty enjoyable and better written than usual Xenoblade side quests imo (outside of Xenoblade X ofc). The food contest side quest in particular was absolutely hilarious to me 😂
I've always considered a game beaten when the credits roll. Thankfully I don't ever feel the need to complete a game to 100% completion to consider it "finished". Some games are just nightmares for completionists. I myself can't imagine trying to find all the Korok seeds 😂
I have to admit...I wish Pokemon would slow down on the releases. I haven't beaten Pokemon Legends Arceus yet and that game would've given me my Pokemon fix for the next few years.
I'm trying to continue playing Indivisible but man this game really isn't doing it for me. I initially bought it because I thought the combat was cool and I loved the art style but nothing is really grabbing me.
Other than that I am on chapter 4 of fossil fighters and I am really enjoying that game! I'm still surprised I haven't heard of it until recently.
Alongside that I decided I would do a 100% completion playthrough of Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna The Golden Country. So far, I am having an absolute blast. I forgot how funny some of the post battle conversations are in this one 😂.
Haha, my Wii U was truly a smash bros & Netflix machine at the time:
I wasn't old enough back then to buy my own games so I always had to wait for birthdays or christmas 😅
This might forever be the most disappointing release on switch for me personally. I don't think anything else has ever made me so happy and then instantly disappointed like this release when it was announced
Honestly, I haven't played too much this past week unfortunately. I'm still playing Fossil Fighters here and there but that's about it. I might try and replay Xenoblade 1 and 2 just to hold myself over until Xenoblade 3 comes out.
I don't understand how people have a problem with the accents. Like I understood people didn't like Xenoblade 2s english voice acting because there wasn't good voice direction, but I never had a problem with the accents themselves. I thought shulks voice actor did a fantastic job, and honestly, I can't imagine him without a British accent lol.
@Edwirichuu Honestly, I have no idea what Xenoblade 3 would be like if it's announced. (Spoilers for Xenoblade 1 and 2) I think it would be cool if we got to play as Klaus during the events before he recreated the universe like a prequel, but of course, that's unlikely to happen lol. I wouldn't say no to seeing the Xenoblade 2 characters again in a future game though.
@Primarina This is just my opinion but 4 player raids weren't really good imo. It took away the thing that I loved about Pokemon which is strategy. Idk if anything has changed since I haven't played SwSh in 2 years but from what I remember you can't apply any status affects or buffs because they just get removed instantly. So raid battles just turned into using your super effective move and then wait for your next turn. Since there's 4 players this process drags on way too long.
Also you said "Every Pokemon game before SwSh only had PvP" which isn't true. Gen 3 and Pokemon Platinum for example allowed players to do things like co-op battle tower together along with other multiplayer features in battle frontier. I also want to add that the wild area isn't really special anymore since Pokemon Legends Arceus came out and does it better.
The only thing that makes SwSh special compared to the other games would be curry and Dynamax but I don't really care about either of those personally.
I finished up Shin Megami Tensei V last week and it was a total blast! It started to drag slightly towards the end but I'll definitely be doing a new game plus playthrough. I heard that if you do a "reborn" ng+ playthrough it only takes 3-4 hours to get to the final boss.
Anyway my friend recommended me this game called Fossil Fighters. I've never heard of it before but I started it a few days ago. So far I'm really digging it! (No pun intended 😜)
Just like everyone else I started Pokemon Legends: Arceus. It's a bit slow at the start but I'm only like 2 hours into the game. I decided that before I continue to get deeper in the game I'm going to finish Shin Megami Tensei V first! I'm towards the end of that game!

Re: Random: Of Course Someone Has Already Smashed Their TV Playing Switch Sports
I never understood how people play games like this without the wrist straps lol. Even on the Wii, it used to bother me if I didn't put it on.
