Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Unleashes A Beautiful New Track From Its Original Score

@Yosher Oh wow, that is a big difference in terms of progress! Can't wait to hear your thoughts as you continue!

The XC2 DLC is a pretty interesting case. You essentially have 3 different ways to get it...

  • You can buy it physically as a stand-alone game (If you buy it this way it'll show as a completely different game on your switch menu).
  • You can buy it through the expansion pass on the eShop (this is the cheapest method. If you have XC2 save data then the price for this drops to $30). Doing this won't make the game show up separately on the switch menu. Instead, you'll be able to access it on the main menu of XC2
  • You can buy it digitally as a stand-alone. Doing this is pretty much the same thing as the physical release...except digital lol.

@Yosher It always makes me happy seeing new people get into the series! (It's one of my personal favorites! ) But yeah, the voice acting from the smash reveal trailer is pretty in line with the XC2 voice acting for the most part. I don't really think the acting itself was bad it just had poor voice direction at times. Rex sort of falls flat on some of the intense scenes early game (especially compared to shulk) but I think he does improve a bit as the game goes on. But of course, you can be the judge whenever you get XC2.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 11th)

I made it to Disc 2 in Xenogears (50 hours in now) and holy crap so much happened! The end of disc 1 was really wild...between the truth about the Soylent system, Citan revealing his true intentions, Hammer betraying the party and killing Elly's mother (I REALLY didn't think he was going to do it), and finding out that Fei was actually Id the entire time...man I have no words and that wasn't even everything! I'm currently on the second dungeon in Disc 2 and you know this Disc isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. At this point in the game I'm really eager to have to rest of my questions answered. Hopefully I can finish the game this weekend!

I've been slowly making my way through Xenogears I haven't made too much progress but I think I'm currently 39 hours in. I'm quite eager to get to disk 2 because I always hear such mixed opinions about it lol.

Earlier this week I also started CrossCode I was really enjoying it for the first few hours. I was doing a whole bunch of side quests and having a great time. However, I just got to the first main dungeon, and man...it's pretty long. It isn't exactly a turn-off but I'm not normally a fan of super long dungeons πŸ˜…

I'm 35 hours into Xenogears and I'm currently at the raid of Shevat . I've gotta be honest here I think I'm starting to get a little bit tired of the gameplay. The combat was pretty fun up to this point but admittedly it's starting to get a bit tedious now that I've got just about all the deathblows πŸ˜…

I'll push through to keep up with the story though!

I am now roughly 30 hours into Xenogears. I was playing a lot on Thursday night and oh my God I just couldn't stop playing πŸ˜‚ I was up until like 2 AM. I just finished the part where Billy and the party get back to the Ethos HQ where we find everyone has been killed. I'm very eager to get back into it this weekend, the only reason I stopped was because I needed to sleep at least a little bit πŸ˜‚

Earlier this week I finished Final Fantasy VIII. I know this one is a bit divisive and I did have a few complaints here and there but honestly, I enjoyed it! I really loved using the junction system and playing the card mini game πŸ˜‚.

Now I've decided to start a game that I've wanted to play for a very long time and that is Xenogears! I have only heard good things about this game and I'm quite curious to see what the hype is about! Hoping I can finish this one before Xenoblade 3 comes out!

So I'm continuing through Final Fantasy VIII and I'm currently on Disc 3! So far so good! Funny story though I was looking up some guides on the GFs (Guardian Forces) and I guess Google doesn't understand what "GF" means so the related questions will come up as stuff like

"What is the strongest girlfriend in FF8?"

"Which magic should I junction to my girlfriend?"

"How do I boost my girlfriend in FF8?"

"How many girlfriends are in FF8?"

Re: Nintendo Updates Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Game Page With Stunning New Artwork

@Gamer_Zeus

I don't care for this game, i dunno why they insist on releasing more of these games, the entire franchise has sold less than 5m copies. 4 games with less than 5m sales between them isn't good.

This isn't true. Yes it's a smaller seller but the Xenoblade franchise actually has broke 5 million within 3 games (there's isn't 4 games unless you count Torna but there's no official numbers for that).

Xenoblade 1 lifetime sales: 3 million
Xenoblade 2 lifetime sales: 2.05 million
Xenoblade X lifetime sales: 840k

I've seen people say they don't know why this series continues but it's pretty simple. Even though it isn't the best selling series from Nintendo, it's the best selling franchise from Monolith Soft so they continue to make games for it. It's the same reason why Kirby gets more games despite being a modest seller like Xenoblade.

I know you said they should make a new IP but Nintendo has shot down most of Monolith Softs ideas which make them even more likely to just focus on this series for the time being. (They wanted to make an M rated title a few years back).

I've been continuing Final Fantasy VIII and I just made it to the end of disc 1 on Thursday. I have to be honest, so far I'm very thoroughly enjoying it and I don't quite understand why it's so divisive. Personally, I really enjoy the junction system and the card minigame. Not to mention stealing the train with the Forest Owls, and trying to assassinate the sorceress was super fun. I guess I'll find out why as I continue but so far I love it.

Last night I came home and I was planning on continuing FF8 but I had a new idea for a build in Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition so I told myself I would only test it out for 30 minutes. Well, I ended up playing it for like 3 hours lol. I'm telling you even after 100% completion I always get sucked back into it!

Re: Looks Like E3 2022 Is Officially Cancelled

Vortexeo

It's really funny seeing everyone talk about how bad E3 was last year. When I think of last years E3 the first thing that comes to my mind is Nintendos Direct and the Metroid Dread announcement so I remember it being pretty good. I completely forgot about all the other companies that presented and how disappointing they were lolπŸ˜…

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 26th)

Last night I actually finished two games. I finished Fossil Fighters which was a fantastic game. I can't believe I haven't heard of it until now. Idk if it'll happen but I would like to see a Fossil Fighters game on switch sometime! I might try Fossil Fighters: Champions later in the future!

The other game I finished was God of War: Chains of Olympus. This was my first God of War game and it was alright. It was shorter than I thought it would be and nothing really stood out to me.

During the weekend I'm likely going to continue Final Fantasy VIII. I can't lie though...I've had this big craving to play Xenogears lately as well but I don't want to play multiple JRPGs at the same time πŸ˜…

Last night I managed to finish Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna The Golden Country to 100% completion! I did this on ng+ so I maxed out everyone's new affinity charts as well! Honestly in my first playthrough I remember being very annoyed that they made side quests mandatory so I kinda just mashed through the text on most of them. However on my second playthrough I gave each side quest my full focus and I realized a majority of these side quests are actually pretty enjoyable and better written than usual Xenoblade side quests imo (outside of Xenoblade X ofc). The food contest side quest in particular was absolutely hilarious to me πŸ˜‚
