@Mandalore they denied it somewhere, but I am pretty sure it will be the case.
Which would be shame as I want a couple of specialized developers in each platform for trying to get the most out of it, and there has rarely, if ever, been a system, where there would be so much to explore as Wii U. If this came to PS4, we can be sure, that they are not going to use GamePad in any way and you should just get the PS4 version.
@gurtifus I think in real time roguelikes too. Real time adds pressure of course, but decision making is still the same and all the choices are there. The choices are much more genre defining thing when thinking about roguelikes in my opinion.
It's up to gamedesigner to balance the game so, that there is time to make decisions, and it's also up to the player to use his/her brain. Or die.
If Nethack became a realtime game, I would still call it roguelike. I think the variety of choices makes Nethack the Nethack.
@HopeNForever aah, I didn't kwow the game was already done. Such a shame.
@unrandomsam Yeah. The flying in the original demo looked amazingly fluid, but now it seems to be toned down a notch or two [salt]because of popular demand of dual analog clunkiness[salt]
I guess that's the reason, why they include the original concept in the package.
I am still excited of the 3d effect even in the original 3ds and I am buying the new one for the improved 3d. The 3d is expensive graphical effect, it eats half of the GPU, but in my eyes it makes games 10 times better looking.
Many call these special features gimmicks, but if I buy several consoles, I buy them for the 'personality' they have(in addition of games of course). Extreme processing power is not exciting gimmick for me(well I am planning to build quite extreme PC for virtual reality, but that is another matter). I think the processing power is in pretty good balance on the 3ds; if it was more powerful, it would have been more expensive as well(it already was too expensive at launch), and then it would not have as many good games as now. And even the Resident Evil Revelations, one of the early games on the system, is still one of the best looking mobile games in my eyes. Of course the resolution has gone beyond appreciable figures long time ago on more modern mobile devices, and shadows are very rough on the 3ds, but it still gives quite realistic impression, especially in 3d.
The co-op alone sold it to me. I don't want to give any funny and unfortunate ideas for them, but I would have paid even more for the GamePad ideas. I am such a fan of Nifflas.
AAAAH!
The Aria and Dawn of Sorrow are my favorite Castlevanias! I hope that they will release the DS games next. I missed The Order of Ecclesia and I cannot wait getting it.
I also would go nuts, if they made 2D Castlevania for 3DS, that would have:
-not only the Castle, but other areas as well, in the Simon's Quest vein
-Castlevania 4 style controls
-2D gameplay but 3D graphics
-Not made by MercurySteam
It still looks very fun, but the controls are clearly downgraded. The smoothness and freedom of flying has changed into clunky and slow paced dual analog clumsiness.
If they are going to do it, I hope, that they are REALLY careful with the casting. Finding good enough fit for a Link will be difficult.
And even though we are not playing Link this time, I still think, that Link should be mute.
(Edit:
Well, some one mentioned Thomas Brodie-Sangster, and suddenly I believe, that it might be possible to make it happen. I think he might even be able to talk a bit as long as he is not very talkative person, and written with great care)
I'll just copypaste my wishlist here and everywhere possible. There are surprisingly lot of interesting Wii games, but these are my strctly narrowed down most wanted games:
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers Fragile Dreams Muramasa: The Demon Blade Okami No More Heroes 2 Xenoblade Chronicles The Last Story Trauma Centre: New Blood Another Code: R Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Conduit 2 Wario Land Zack and Wiki Boom Blox 2
I played them all many times back in the day, so I would have to try to resist, BUT: Having the Wiimote controls in 1 and 2 is tempting me so much!
My trigger finger is itching like hell, and there are no other FPS(FPA in this case) coming for the Wii U. I just want more things to shoot with my Wiimote!!!
At these introductionary prices, I'd buy all of these and more:
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers
Fragile Dreams
Muramasa: The Demon Blade
Okami
No More Heroes 2
Xenoblade Chronicles
The Last Story
Trauma Centre: New Blood
Another Code: R
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
Conduit 2
Wario Land
Zack and Wiki
Boom Blox 2

Shame.
Only pointer controls would make me buy COD.

GamePad co-op
Gyro
Wiimote

I wish it would have GamePad multiplayer.

Amazing game in many ways and the best 3D Castlevania ever made.
It will be mine! I borrowed it for awhile, but had to return it before finnishing it, and finally I can put it to an end.
Re: Rumour: Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 Teased For Nintendo Release
Gyro aiming and GamePad co-op please! And Wiimote of course.
Re: Weirdness: Super Meat Boy Is Calling For Your Votes In The Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot
Iconic? Pffftt!
Simon Belmont is iconic. Or if Meat Boy is iconic, what is Bionic Commando or Cloud?

Re: Video: Roguelike Adventure Temple Of Yog Celebrates Future Arrival On The Wii U eShop With A New Trailer
Roguelikes are usually turnbased, but to me it's not a definitive feature. If you turned Nethack into realtime, it would still be roguelike to me.
And multiplayer roguelikes are typically realtime, even if they are ascii and all.
Re: Video: Roguelike Adventure Temple Of Yog Celebrates Future Arrival On The Wii U eShop With A New Trailer
...and to specify genre even further, I would add Gauntletlike into the mix as well...
...if only it had multiplayer as well.
But amazing. I'm sold already.
Re: Poll: Which Characters Do You Want to Win the Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot?
Simon Belmont should be in Smash before any of these examples.
Re: Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Reckons "It Would Be Cool" if Rare's Banjo Was Voted in as Super Smash Bros. DLC
Simon Belmont would be so much more fitting as well as iconic character, that I would recommend every one to vote that instead.

Good. They still have time to implement Wiimote and gyro controls.

Nothing for easter!?! I would think, that it would be more favourable launch day, than most other days at spring.

And Roguelikes too.

Pandoras Tower AAAAAAHHHHH! Thank you! (I mean, bring it to EU, and then I thank you)
I borrowed it for a while, I absolutely love it but couldn't play it through that time. Now it will be mine.
One of my favorite games of all time. It is among many other tings, in a way, the 3D Castlevania of my dreams.

Re: Tomonobu Itagaki Gives an Update on Devil’s Third, Describing it as the "Biggest Game"
The online games massive structure is super intriguing, and it has already sold itself to me.
I just really, Really, REALLY wish they would exclude auto aim and ads snap and include gyro aiming option.
And Wiimote would be rather ideal controller for this kind of game.
Re: Video: Kadokawa Games Showcases Rodea The Sky Soldier Footage and Hands-On Event
It still looks very fun, but the controls are clearly downgraded. The smoothness and freedom of flying has changed into clunky and slow paced dual analog clumsiness.
I hope, that there is even a gyro option.

Well, I would like to see this in 3D too.
