Re: Review: Falling Skies: The Game (Wii U eShop)

Varoennauraa

@rylo151 it's more about fulfilling genre needs, than copying a particular game though. I was so excited to see XCom like game on Wii U, that I didn't care about the graphics or voice acting at all. Actually, SO excited, that I thought it quite looked good. But sleeping AI, that has to be 'triggered' awake might break the game for me, so I don't dare place a full game price anymore.

Are the environments destroyable?

There is money on the Wii U table. Six million consoles before Mario Kart 8, starving for quality games. There are whole genres waiting for someone taking the monopoly. Not horror so much, as there is the Fatal Frame, but you could make pretty attractive horror game on Wii U. Just imitate the Siren series gimmick, and you already have so tempting game, that people are buying system for it.

Re: Review: Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (Wii U eShop / Game Boy Advance)

Varoennauraa

I didn't like this one so much. It was ok, but a huge let down compared to my expectations. The next one was only a mild let down, and the last one in the GBA trilogy even exceeded my expectations. And the DS Castlevanias continued exceeding my heightening expectations. I hope they will continue releasing DS Castlevanias shortly after the GBA vanias.

LEVEL EDITOR!!!! HAHAHAHAHHAAAA!!!! I AM SO HAPPY, THAT I AM LAUGHING AND CRYING AT THE SAME TIME!!!!

I am so happy, that even if I didn't get anything else for the whole generation, I would still be in ecstasy.

The level editor here is JUST what I was praying for. I would have settled for a block based editor, but being able to draw levels with a "pencil" is one of the best features on the system. And thank god for sharing as well.

Creativity and content sharing is one of the mega trends in this generation and this is one aspect, where Wii U shines.

Re: Review: KORG DSN-12 (3DS eShop)

Varoennauraa

I hope they will continue developing 3DS synths. If they made MS-20 next, perhaps even with the MS-50 on top of it, I would be so happy, that I might buy a new 3DS just for accompanying it with these 12 MS-10s! I would obviously settle for less voices, but man, it would be beautiful.

And I would pay 100€ for a Wii U synth.

Re: Video: Début Footage of UCraft Aims to Show Minecraft Credentials

A little rough around the edges at the moment, but the Paint integration was REALLY nice surprise! You can make it as nice looking as you want, and this highlights the joys of the GamePad even further. The Minecraft would have been perfect fit for Wii U because of the combination of the touchscreen and game controls, but being able to paint with the stylus is awesome and I hope more games used this feature!

The GamePad just makes all kinds of creative games at home in the Wii U. I hope the developers are not taking this opportunity lightly, and I wish that they would continue to develop this after the launch. Online co op would be great, but if there was shared user created content like textures, this could really evolve into a massive, long going hit.

Re: Review: Cubemen 2 (Wii U eShop)

Varoennauraa

I am not the greatest fan of the genres this game represents, but I play both, tower defence and RTS, on occasion. Still, because of the stylus, I have been especially anxiously waiting for an RTS game for Wii U, and this is why I welcome Cube Men with open arms! I have also desired a multiplayer tower defense game and thus Cube Men 2 answers two of my prayers at once.

It has slight annoyances in controls, but nothing one couldn't learn to overcome and the working stuff made me enjoy the game specifically because of controls, and the speed with what you can control numerous characters with a stylus at once has strengthened my day dreams about my dream game;

A Cannon Fodder -like game. As action packed as ever, but this time with much increased tactical possibilities. Player would control a squad of handful of soldiers with stylus by drawing routes for them and perhaps still have direct control for the main character on the TV.

Re: Wii U Version of Watch Dogs to Miss Out on DLC

Varoennauraa

Good ports have pretty much always sold very nicely on Nintendo platforms. Of course, people became alert after sticking their fingers on couple of Wii turds, and after sticking fingers into poopoopoo a couple of times, one tends to remember what companies to trust. And these companies have not advertised anything, but negative aspects of their ports for Nintendo platforms.

And the way how Ubisoft has treated the Wii U version of the Watch Dogs tells you, that it is obvious that they are not even trying to sell the game, they are just fulfilling some kind of contract as barely as possible.

Even, when I have had serious desire to play this game, I have abstained my self from playing it until I see the Wii U version, because you would think, that the game is practically made for GamePad (well, I am STILL going to check how it turns out). After hearing only bad news after this long wait, I have started to lost my appetite for the game...in fact, I'm losing my appetite for Ubisoft in general.

Same goes to Beyond Good and Evil 2;
when a camera game does not come to Wii U, you know that games are not art. (it is an art form obviously, but the products in general are so business oriented, that they are not even trying to get the most out of the most defining aspect of the medium, the gameplay. And I am bitter about it.)

Re: Renegade Kid Now In A Position To Produce More Dementium Games

Varoennauraa

@Danrenfroe2016
I have the first one and I have been stalking for a good deal of the second. I loved the controls of the first one so much, that even when the game was mediocre out side of the controls, the feeling of shooting made it my favorite FPS of the gen. I wish you could buy Wii games from eShop.

But now. No one's making Wiimote FPS's anymore. Not even a Cod. Poopoopoopoopoopoopoopoo!

Hey High Voltage!!! There's money on the table! It is supposed to be small table, but it's low risk and high potential. There was 6 million Wii U's even before Mario Kart 8 made it some what more popular. Tweak that Quantum engine of yours just a bit and make HD -remake of the Conduit 2 and release it via eShop! Easy money! And with that money, tighten the Quantum bolts a bit more and make the Conduit 3! GamePad is natural born ASE etc etc etc!

Re: Renegade Kid Now In A Position To Produce More Dementium Games

Varoennauraa

Please, I am begging you:
Take the monopoly of FPS games on Wii U!!! I am dying to shoot things with my Wiimote!!! (And use the gyro option in the GamePad for local multiplayer as well.)

You wouldn't even need to break your back with the burden of bankruptcy inducing competitive graphics; the feel of shooting experience with the Wiimote more than makes up even mediocre graphics in my experience.

Re: Feature: We Go Hands On With SteamWorld Heist, The Next Image & Form Game

Varoennauraa

@B3ND3R I would buy it WITH MONEY!!!

There would be so many opportunities. Of course, the Star Fox fans have been waiting for a sequel for so long, that it might be beneficial for the public health to just make a traditionalish Star Fox game first, but perhaps the campaign structure could include some strategic elements, like occupying enemy territories and taking control of their factories, and the missions them selves could also include some tactical elements in the form of giving orders for your wing men with the touch screen(drawing routes for them on the map).

Re: Feature: We Go Hands On With SteamWorld Heist, The Next Image & Form Game

Varoennauraa

I SO cannot wait, that I need to buy the Dig today to ease the wait. (even when they are completely different)

I cannot get enough turn based strategy games, but I would just LOVE to see some real time strategies on the Wii U as well. The GamePad is(or would be) the real time strategy machine!

And I would also like to play 4x games on the Wii U the most. I know, that Wii U don't get any of them, but I would prefer to play them on the Wii U.

Re: Activision Confirms That Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is Skipping Wii U

Varoennauraa

That's really strange.

The third parties did excellent job convincing people to expect, that their Wii versions were always gimped poopoodoodoocacapoopledoople, and on the Wii U they did not even try to sell their games for Wii U. The worlds most popular game and it was not even available on the eShop, like it was so risky to try it. Wtf is with that. And wtf was the secrecy of the previous Cods Wii U versions all about? They announced the version, when people has already preordered other versions, and printed so few games, that I couldn't find it from my country in months and had to order it from abroad.

Cod AW would have been a low risk and high potential situation.

The Wiimote is affordable way to differentiate in the FPS market in general, and they would have had the whole platform for them selves.

There is a monopoly of Wiimote FPS's on the table.

Please some one. I would settle for a mediocre FPS, if I just got one more Wiimote FPS. That's the only reason, I have ever bought Cods.

High Voltage! Please!
