As you may have seen in our post confirming a 13th February release date for the New Nintendo 3DS, it's been announced that The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D will launch on the same day.
As highlighted in that previous article, there's a special New Nintendo 3DS XL hardware bundle that will be available with a copy of the game. Beyond that, however, it's a title that - among a group of major upcoming 3DS games - utilises the New model the least. The Nintendo Direct in North America highlighted a more solid 3D effect courtesy of the system's stable 3D, while you will be able to use the c-stick for full 360 degree camera control. [Update: in addition, the European broadcast showed off a Majora's Mask cover plate set for the small New 3DS in the region]

Aside from that we look set for the same experience on all models, which is unsurprising considering the fact that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D already laid the groundwork in 2011.
As a bonus for US gamers, meanwhile, pre-orders of Code Name S.T.E.A.M from participating retailers in the country will come with a silver Majora's Mask pin.
Are you planning to pick this up on 13th February? We'd recommend watching the video from the Japanese Nintendo Direct below, with extensive footage.

Yayyy bery happy 3DS owner so far
This is so great. I was one of the lucky one who got to preordered the limited edition and I hope gamestop gets this to my house on feb 13 so I can kiss my social life goodbye.
I'll be waiting a little longer to get this via the mail due to me pre-ordering the LE of this game.
Ocarina of Time ended up being one of my least favourite Zelda games, and I got so bored I didn't even finish it. Majora's Mask seems different enough though, so I will probably pick this up at some point.
Aaaaand I still don't like it. If the OoT3D port is anything to go by, the flawed gameplay will most likely persist for hell's reason.
@Kaze_Memaryu What flawed gameplay?
Can't believe its so close! I'm compelled to buy the XL system now even though I already have a regular new 3DS. Also want to buy those MM cover plates. Plus I've pre ordered the special edition. So much going on for one game!
@Kaze_Memaryu Flawed?? Are there any big differences between the remake and the original (gameplay wise, not counting the obvious graphical changes etc..)
But here in the States, the MM N3ds bundle comes bundled with nada, zilch. Lololol. What a hoot you are, ninty!
@TeeJay @Xenjamin It's a thing Nintendo already messed up with OoT3D. Back on N64, it was good enough, but by todays standards, the gameplay was extremely stiff and restrictive, but instead of improving it on 3DS, they kept everything identical and even intentionally left in several glitches for the sake of nostalgia (Nintendo themselves admitted this).
Considering these factors, I'm not putting much faith in refreshing the dusty gameplay of Majora's Mask. They might actually do so (proper aiming options for several projectile weapons would be a good start, or improving the FoV).
Yay we Europa get a special edition badge, NA a statue of skull kid AND Our Europian badge! Thanks Nintendo!
I never played Majora's Mask, so I'm looking forward to getting into this for the first time~
@Kaze_Memaryu Hmm i agree, at least on the points you mentioned. There are stuff that can be brought up to date without removing the magic of the game.
@Emaan same here! yay for us!
I missed this when it was first released making this one of the only Zelda games that I have not played. I might pick it up.
@Kaze_Memaryu, You're obviously a younger person who didn't grow up with these "flawed" experiences. There is nothing wrong with these games; you're just used to modern production values, which are not always necessary for a good game play experience. Open your mind a little.
Does anyone know how the controls will be different between the two handhelds? Will you be able to control the camera with the new C stick? I'm just wondering if it's worth getting a new system to play this game.
I really wish, that the C-Stick doesn't mean, that the gyro option is taken away. I like the C-Stick as an addition to gyro controls, but the gyro is more important to me.
@grumblebuzzz Wait, what?! What does my age have to do with unrefined mechanics? I already hated the way the N64 Zelda games played back when they were new, so I don't see why I should "open my mind" to flaws when the mechanics received clear improvements in later installments (most notably TP and SS).
@Kaze_Memaryu
Totally respect that you have an opinion and stick to it. I have games that I can't stand and people think I'm crazy, too. However, I think you are the only one ever that thinks this for Oot. Lol.
Anyway, excited to try MM for the first time!
@invictus4000 I know a fair number of people who think alike, but whether I like the N64 Zelda games or not is a bit besides the point. The thing is that later Zelda games simply did many things better than the N64 ones, but didn't have that "first of its kind" hype anymore. And I'm very worried that Nintendo doesn't apply these improvements at all.
I suppose a good middle ground would be to give a choice between "Classic Controls" and "Revised Controls" to appeal to both returning fans and newcomers/younger fans.
@Kaze_Memaryu Man, your life must be pretty darn good if your worries consist of a video game company not "improving" on subjective "flaws"
@Kaze_Memaryu
Although I still disagree that the controls are flawed, I totally get where you are coming from. I feel the same way about Final Fantasy 7 on PS1. At the time, it was a revolutionary, amazing game that kicked the genre and series forward but by today's standards, it REALLY does not hold up well and yet everybody still says it's the best FF ever and that's just absolutely not true (IMO). If they were to port it to the 3DS like the game in question here and they similarly didn't change anything, I'd be annoyed too so I think I get what you mean. I'd be like, why didn't they fix the translation, graphics, and glitches??? Haha.
Already have mine on order! Hopefully I can grab a Code Name S.T.E.A.M. pre order while the pre order bonus is still live! The game looks like a blast anyway. I was planning on getting it eventually, but this has really made me excited!
@invictus4000
Well said sir, you've earned my respect! Lol
Hyped! Am so looking forward to this. Have only played a couple of ours of Majora's Mask before, so this'll almost be like a brand new experience to me:D
The only thing that worries me about this game is that there is a time limit on it. And I absolutely hate time limits. They make me nervous, and I don't get enough time to explore the world. But either I'm getting this one.
