Anyone else remember this on the DS and how they barely ever used it on that system? Let's hope that it is used more liberally this gen and not used only for screen space filling on the main menu.

This just looks super drab and boring. Backgrounds are just gray or girders, nothing jumps out like with Rocket league.

I genuinely belly-laughed when they said, "we are going to charge for this tech demo/guide download." Buffoonery!

Also, not sure that the "excitement" of playing 3 on 3 wheelchair based basketball game hit me like I feel they intended that reveal to hit... like at all. Don't get me wrong, its great to see that being a showcase but not really a system seller right there. Maybe a game that uses the mouse functionality as the controls on a tank or mech would have been a little more attention grabbing.

This could be a very bad idea on Nintendo's part, I say this because the potential for piracy by just modding a "game key-card" seems like a better option for piracy. Not saying this is something that will, or should/could, be done but it seems like the gateway to S2 modding imo.

I don't think they should have focused so much on group chat as a "big 'new' thing" since it has been around, on every console except Nintendo's, for a while now. Other than that is was good, not great. Duskbloods has me interested.

@Daniel36 Definitely understand why you say this if 2 is what you tried first. Not a good intro to the series. Also, if you are thinking that you will be playing an Action/Adventure RPG the gameplay in battles can be a bit off-putting. They really just aren't for everybody, but that is all video games.

2 is lowest rank imo. Interesting idea, boring execution.

Looks interesting. I'd love to see it with a local MP though, I care nothing for online MP.

@Joeynator3000 didn't do anything like kill the switch for me, it really made me go back to it and ditch my Steamdeck.

I have played through Astral Chain like 5 times and would absolutely love to see a sequel, even if it is on Switch 2... I'll take it! I take all of this with a grain of salt though, since there have been a few Platinum games that were great and never got any sequels. I will wait patiently and allow this hope to drift again to the recesses of my mind.

@robe I just want to applaud you on your icon being a character from Rock N' Roll Racing! One of Blizzard's best games, imo.

Yes, given about 40 years of games, marketing, toys, clothing, and even theme parks anything could potentially "Rival Mario"... but Banjo Kazooie, that's what you're gonna bet on??? Gotta love the underdog, but I have no love for the BK franchise, it just never clicked with me.

Honestly, I'm glad they finally pulled it from behind Nintendo's Iron Curtain and showed it to us, but I was NOT expecting the actual Direct showcasing it to be in April... seems like maybe they just (last 6 months) got done finalizing some details and really weren't going to show us anything in January until all the 3rd party leaks forced their hand. I'm sure we will begin to hear from some devs, sans juicy details, that they are working to bring a (yet unannounced title) to the switch 2. Then in April we will see their games in the Direct showcase.

While I dislike waiting so long for them to announce it won't be available until holiday 2025 for purchase, causing scalpers to have a field day, I am happy to see the final design and excited for what's to come. I'm fine with them going full on iteration route instead of some VR/AR/Wiimote device this gen.

Could be a calibration button for the rumored "mouse-like" feature of the controller.

Edit: I noticed the screenshot button still in place on the other controller. Maybe it's just like the light ring around the home button on the original switch... something to have just in case they want it.

Still waiting on this to become reality... probably not gonna get a reveal this week, at least not on Thursday.

@Paulo Honestly, it kinda does since BC is a big deal for a lot of players with backlogs (myself included). But in the Switch reveal trailer they showed BotW, Skyrim (old gen even in 2017), MK8 (Wii U game - previous gen), some NBA game (most likely closer to prior gen build), Mario:Odyssey, and Splatoon 2. So, for them to show current gen, or HD remake games with the reveal, wouldn't be anything new and could also get those that want to be able to continue chipping away at their backlog (me & lots of other ppl) it is always a nice thing to showcase, but in no way should it be the main focus of a reveal.

We all want to see what this new machine can do and how it offers us something "new" for us to get excited about it and want to jump on board and buy one. Better graphics, is NOT all that they need to show us.

Personal prediction here, we might see some previously xbox exclusive titles that have never been off the platform, being played in the reveal, or in the follow up direct.

Keep your eyes peeled.

@Paulo or, they could announce it and show DKCRHD running on the device and get hype for the full backwards compatibility, while showing off up and coming new software. Right now they are just gonna show something to quiet the din of the rumor mill. It's starting to get loud in here.

And nobody even notes the homage to "Crazy Train" in the title? Come on people. It would be hilarious if they had a bar car jazz band playing a version of Crazy Train by Ozzy. Not my type of game, but I hope people enjoy it.

I'm gonna say this again about the DE version of this game...
SO TF WHAT?!?!? This takes nothing away from the gameplay.

It's probably some 50yo dude who is just like, "yeah, f*** everybody in this game!" and laughs the whole time he is being petty in this game... I kinda think it's great!

Main character design looks very inspired by the protagonist from Prototype... to me anyway.

LMAO at Subhead "Surprise, niche game is niche" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA its standing is in no way surprising, nor should it be to anyone.

This looks like it could be fun and BONUS it isn't another pixel art 16-32 bit game for the modern day.

The only thing that comes to mind is "Excess".

The mention of the "Mid-battle Twists" as a new thing in this game is interesting. I played through every mission in Heist 1 and there were plenty of these in the side quests and even some of the main missions later in the game. I've only been playing Heist 2 for a couple of hours, but I am really enjoying it so far, not sure I enjoy how they did the "open map" for the overworld, really liked to way that Heist 1 was setup, but it's not the focal point of the game and as such is easily dismissed as a means to an end.

Sorry, but the Future one's got to go! Worst ones in the whole series imo. PAST is my choice first, PRESENT would be my second choice.

I like the premise of these games, but they can get really tedious.

I'm really enjoying Bō and enjoying the level of challenge that it provides! I hope they can find a publisher that is able to help out with any and all post-launch needs. Best of luck!

Soul Reaver and Sould Reaver 2 were great games, imo.

I really enjoyed 3 houses, but it was so boring doing all the building BS in the academy that I grew to dislike it about halfway through and then begrudgingly finished it. I have yet to finish Engage, but it is by and far much more "engaging" than the tedium of 3 houses.

@poudigne I doubt it will be less than $24US. But why waste your money or time on this and not just go and get one that can charge up to four(4) Joycons and that works just as well if not better?

@FishyS There are like 5000 different external joy con charging docks for less that this device costs. Most plug into the USB port on the switch dock and charge up to 4 joycons at a time.

@marcelominucelli The Shredder's Revenge game is not really the same as this roguelite. Shredder's Revenge is more akin to Final Fight and other "Beat'em Ups". So, not really the same type of game to compare to.

@Andee I would dare to use the word "horrible" to describe KH and I have a great disdain that Sora was added into Smash Ultimate. Bionic commando would have been a better choice imo. But in reality, I didn't direct the game, nor make any choices about it's roster so I will just have to continue to destroy anyone who plays as Sora when I'm playing.

I'm curious about the human worker in one of those shots, he is just nonchalantly pushing a hover cart and ignoring the impending doom from the multiple space pirates behind him. His confidence is stunning!

@Axecon While the combat isn't as engaging in Xenoblade the whole game is more engaging than KH series.

@garfreek I've attempted, on too many occasions, to enjoy the KH series and it has always been an exercise in futility. They are bland and boring, or they get to that point rapidly. The only one I put notable hours into was 3DS Dream Drop Distance, it was fun and the way to traverse the worlds was cool, but only for a limited number of hours. Then it turned to ash in my mouth and lost all flavor. Kudos to anyone that enjoys the series, but it is just not fun and any character outside of the disney characters, is just ugly, in design, and boring. The DS entry looked like it had promise, but every cutscene (that I endured) was no less than 15 minutes and it was always boring.

Again, I applaud anyone that enjoys this franchise and hope that you continue to enjoy it.

Note: I was enticed to play the KH games because of a great friend and even his die-hard fandom for it died after KH2.
