Re: Review: Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition (Wii U eShop)

Unit_DTH

Between Shovel Knight and Armillo, I don't really have time for this one right now, but I will purchase it at my next earliest convenience, It looks great and I was really excited to hear when it was announced for the Wii U. I'm gonna be broke before the even bigger titles come to the Wii U later this year! If it weren't for all these wonderful Indie games, the Wii U might have another software drought.

Re: Review: Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails (Wii U eShop)

@luke88 SITTM is one of the next one's on my list, I thought about getting it as a free DL for my PS4, but I would rather give the dev money for their hard work than get the game for free. Also, Knytt is another one that I want, but will have to wait until my funds replenish for that one.
It's funny how much doom and gloom there is for the Wii U, I always brag on the eShop when I hear that nonsense. If you think there aren't any good games for the console then you don't have one, or you are just belligerent about having fun.

Been looking forward to this one for a while now! Got Child of Light last week and getting this, this week. Loading up on great games for the Wii U, then there is the impending doom, to other games in my collection, that is MK8! I'm liking the eShop more every week, don't much care about the VC, just keep the great indie titles coming.

@TG1 I thought the controls were very loose on the DSiWare version of this game, and that was what made the difficulty ramp up in the later levels? Maybe I'm just easily amused.

Re: Satoru Iwata Speaks Of The Need To "Redefine" Nintendo's Position In The Entertainment Industry

Unit_DTH

So, why is Iwata still in charge of Nintendo??? I'm lost trying to find an answer to that. Iwata's thought process, "QoL, that should distract them from our lack of focus on the Wii U... hehehe, what else do I think consumers would like? Whatever I'll do what I want!" *Cartman's voice from South Park rings in my head when I read the whole, "Nintendo is a company that can do whatever they want". Is that Iwata speaking or the shareholders of the company? I think that 125 years of business is being eroded away with Iwata at the helm of Nintendo.

@CaptainSquid I saw this image as well on their official site. You should also note that the founder of AE is not a graphic artist but more of a programmer and stated that he was getting an artist to begin making the concept art. I still agree with you that this image is terrible! But, the concept art gives me some type of hope for this game not being atrocious.

Re: Club Nintendo in North America to Remove Post-Play Survey Coins for Wii and DS Games

Unit_DTH

@noctowl I didn't define how hard the slap is, or would be;) I think that what they have done, and the reason I have used that term, is really alienate their fan base that might upgrade from the Wii to the Wii U, or DS to 3DS. They have literally given every Wii owner an ultimatum and that seems really unfair to the consumer. Take into consideration, that maybe they don't have the money to buy a new console, or maybe they are happy with what they have and forcing them to do something, they aren't prepared to do, would dissuade them from continuing to support the company. I just think Nintendo is being a bit hasty in their recent choices. I also didn't notice that I was "RAGE"ing... perhaps you put your own internal inflection on my words there, sir?

Re: Club Nintendo in North America to Remove Post-Play Survey Coins for Wii and DS Games

Unit_DTH

So, since they are shutting down the Wii servers, doesn't that mean that we won't be able to play any Wii game online even if we are playing them on the Wii U?! Isn't that kinda... counter productive? "We want you to upgrade! So, we are taking away the last vestige of fun you may have on our 'outdated' and 'discontinued' hardware! We love you... as long as you buy a Wii U and 3DS and get rid of those old Wiis and DSs!" Hmmmm, this type of thing is exactly what would make me want to buy your new console. I like being slapped in the face and then hit over the head with a frying pan! If I weren't an early adopter, this would not make me want to upgrade!

Re: Review: BLOK DROP U (Wii U eShop)

Unit_DTH

I enjoyed this title, it has it's bugs, but show the promise of the Nintendo Web Framework. I look forward the the updates with more options and free levels. Hopefully we will get a level selection option and some type of level creator. But for now I'm satisfied.

Re: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Only Sells Just Over 35,000 Units in Japanese Launch

Unit_DTH

@gatorboi352 I agree with you there. But I don't think Nintendo really "takes heed" just like they don't "care what their fans want" <--- This is according to Reggie Fils-Aime. If they don't care what their fans want then how do they expect to continue? I'm a Nintendo fan and have a Wii U, but I will not be buying NSMBU with a glorified coat of monkey fur and some stupid looking walrus enemies!

Re: Talking Point: What We Expect In Nintendo Direct - 13th February

Unit_DTH

My expectations: the heart rate monitor for the Wii U gamepad… LOL
Maybe something good that isn't all about Mario!! Info on Miyamoto's new IP?
Honestly who knows. Nintendo has been kicking us all in the balls and it's gonna take some type of miracle for them to fix this mess, I'm hopeful, but reserved in that hope. Heck, I was hopeful for the Retro Studios announcement at E3 2013 and look how that turned out… Bwa wah wahhhh.
Anything not DK or Mario is fine with me.

Re: Watch_Dogs Delayed Again on Wii U, Will Arrive on the System After Other Platforms

Unit_DTH

I guess this is the first step in the inevitable separation of Ubisoft from the Wii U supporting developers page. This stinks, I was really looking forward to this game on my Wii U! I won't be buying anymore Ubi games ever if they decide to cancel this game for the Wii U. And I know that doesn't really help the "lack of sales on the Wii U" situation, but I will not support a company that drops support like this. I will not be buying there games on any platform, not just my nintendo platforms.

Re: Soapbox: A Monster Hunter Obsession, and Why the Franchise Could Take Off in the West

Unit_DTH

@Einherjar I agree with most of what you have said here, but not the bit about how the CPP is completely needed for the game on the 3DS. Underwater battles are made simple by using the Monster lock button on the bottom screen of the DS and I rarely use the right stick on the gamepad when I'm playing on the Wii U. the only battle that "needed" the CPP on the DS is the Ceadeus, just because you have to focus on 1 part to break before you can get to the final part of the battle, and the Lock camera always points you at it's midsection. If you setup the touchscreen to have the camera controls on the right side of the screen, it becomes second nature and doesn't warrant the purchase of the CPP. i guess that's just my opinion, I have gotten about 6 of my friends into MH3U on the 3DS and a few are planning to purchase a Wii U just for this game, so this article is very welcome to me. The depth and great feeling of accomplishment when you finally beat a large scale monster is tremendous and I haven't sunk this much time into a game since… I can't say that I ever have sunk this much time into any other game. I hope they bring frontier G to the west and that they make it available on the 3DS and Wii U like MH3U.

Re: Nintendo Download: 6th February (Europe)

@Emblem
I feel like it's made worse by the lack of upcoming titles for any of the home consoles. I haven't seen anything for the PS4, bar The Order (not coming for a while yet), that warrants a purchase. The dust on my home consoles is getting fairly thick, but my back catalog and the impending US release of Bravely Default will be nice filler in the meantime.
