@Starwolf_UK Understandable, but my question remains. Will Wii games be able to use the Nintendo Network as the used the Nintendo Wi-Fi? i.e. trick the game into using Nintendo Network servers vs. using Nintendo Wi-Fi servers? I don't think there has been any clarification on this, but I'm not holding my breath for it.
@noctowl I feel the same way. You mean I can play a Zelda shooting game with this piece of plastic that holds both controllers?! Sign me up! No other games use it. A bathroom scale for a mere $90, where can I get one?! Oh right, I'm still lazy. lol I love getting duped!
@noctowl I didn't define how hard the slap is, or would be;) I think that what they have done, and the reason I have used that term, is really alienate their fan base that might upgrade from the Wii to the Wii U, or DS to 3DS. They have literally given every Wii owner an ultimatum and that seems really unfair to the consumer. Take into consideration, that maybe they don't have the money to buy a new console, or maybe they are happy with what they have and forcing them to do something, they aren't prepared to do, would dissuade them from continuing to support the company. I just think Nintendo is being a bit hasty in their recent choices. I also didn't notice that I was "RAGE"ing... perhaps you put your own internal inflection on my words there, sir?
So, since they are shutting down the Wii servers, doesn't that mean that we won't be able to play any Wii game online even if we are playing them on the Wii U?! Isn't that kinda... counter productive? "We want you to upgrade! So, we are taking away the last vestige of fun you may have on our 'outdated' and 'discontinued' hardware! We love you... as long as you buy a Wii U and 3DS and get rid of those old Wiis and DSs!" Hmmmm, this type of thing is exactly what would make me want to buy your new console. I like being slapped in the face and then hit over the head with a frying pan! If I weren't an early adopter, this would not make me want to upgrade!
I enjoyed this title, it has it's bugs, but show the promise of the Nintendo Web Framework. I look forward the the updates with more options and free levels. Hopefully we will get a level selection option and some type of level creator. But for now I'm satisfied.
When the Manufacturer refurbishes them, it is like getting a new console, they repackage them with new paper work including new registration codes for Club Nintendo. It means that they had some type of issue and that Nintendo fixed them and is now selling them at a deep discount.
@bizcuthammer I'm right there with you. But I still think it's a boring game. It's a start for Ninty in the ftp realm, but I hope they come up with something better next go around.
@gatorboi352 I agree with you there. But I don't think Nintendo really "takes heed" just like they don't "care what their fans want" <--- This is according to Reggie Fils-Aime. If they don't care what their fans want then how do they expect to continue? I'm a Nintendo fan and have a Wii U, but I will not be buying NSMBU with a glorified coat of monkey fur and some stupid looking walrus enemies!
@Nintenjoe64 You and me both are glad that this game didn't move many. I want Nintendo to know that this type of "reveal" and crap is not what their fans want. I for one would like a steak from Nintendo, instead of a damn Chicken Nugget Kids meal! Give us something more substantial than another 2.5D platformed!
@Guybrush20X6 If you want to see a Nintendo-centric site that only publishes negative news, you should head on over to MyNintendoNews.com. It seems that the only Nintendo related news they report there is about something negative pertaining to Nintendo. NintendoLife.com is at least somewhat positive in most of their articles.
My expectations: the heart rate monitor for the Wii U gamepad… LOL Maybe something good that isn't all about Mario!! Info on Miyamoto's new IP? Honestly who knows. Nintendo has been kicking us all in the balls and it's gonna take some type of miracle for them to fix this mess, I'm hopeful, but reserved in that hope. Heck, I was hopeful for the Retro Studios announcement at E3 2013 and look how that turned out… Bwa wah wahhhh. Anything not DK or Mario is fine with me.
If nothing else make a small attachment for the bottom of the gamepad that gives it the ability to play Wii U games over the network from a greater distance, even outside the house at another wifi spot, akin to Vita/PS4 remote play.
@SecondServing I think that's where they are headed, or at least some type of "upgrade" like they had to do for DK64 for the N64. Something that accentuates the power of the Wii U in some way.
@citizenerased "Dozens!" LOL… I'm not boycotting them, unless they decide to pull a Sega and cancel on all the people that have been waiting on this game for their Wii U, which is the crowd I consider myself a part of.
I guess this is the first step in the inevitable separation of Ubisoft from the Wii U supporting developers page. This stinks, I was really looking forward to this game on my Wii U! I won't be buying anymore Ubi games ever if they decide to cancel this game for the Wii U. And I know that doesn't really help the "lack of sales on the Wii U" situation, but I will not support a company that drops support like this. I will not be buying there games on any platform, not just my nintendo platforms.
@akaDv8R I would love to help you, I'm low rank right now, so I'm more than happy to help you get the hang of it. NNID: Unit_DTH Message me on Miiverse with a time and I will try to be online so we can get you enthusiastic about killing monsters! I'm in the US CST.
Has anybody else looked at "Percy's Predicament"? This game looks like something for the PS1. I'm all about buying indie games, but the indies have to actually put forth more effort than this. This is Bush League!
@Einherjar I agree with most of what you have said here, but not the bit about how the CPP is completely needed for the game on the 3DS. Underwater battles are made simple by using the Monster lock button on the bottom screen of the DS and I rarely use the right stick on the gamepad when I'm playing on the Wii U. the only battle that "needed" the CPP on the DS is the Ceadeus, just because you have to focus on 1 part to break before you can get to the final part of the battle, and the Lock camera always points you at it's midsection. If you setup the touchscreen to have the camera controls on the right side of the screen, it becomes second nature and doesn't warrant the purchase of the CPP. i guess that's just my opinion, I have gotten about 6 of my friends into MH3U on the 3DS and a few are planning to purchase a Wii U just for this game, so this article is very welcome to me. The depth and great feeling of accomplishment when you finally beat a large scale monster is tremendous and I haven't sunk this much time into a game since… I can't say that I ever have sunk this much time into any other game. I hope they bring frontier G to the west and that they make it available on the 3DS and Wii U like MH3U.

@Emblem I feel like it's made worse by the lack of upcoming titles for any of the home consoles. I haven't seen anything for the PS4, bar The Order (not coming for a while yet), that warrants a purchase. The dust on my home consoles is getting fairly thick, but my back catalog and the impending US release of Bravely Default will be nice filler in the meantime.
I really don't want a "NinteniPad", I like the gamepad for Wii U and I like the 3DS, but this thing just doesn't seem like it could even be close to a reality. The concept is intriguing, but that's all.
@Gerbwmu I think off-TV play is a huge thing. I haven't touched my PS4 in about 2 weeks because I don't want to have to sit in a room away from my family being completely anti-social, I asked for a Vita for Christmas… so maybe I will play it with the 2nd screen option. With the gamepad I can play games and take breaks in the midst of my family as they are doing other things and I can still interact with them while playing my games. The gamepad is brilliant, if for no other reason than it makes the beautiful games that a home console delivers, portable - to a degree.
@DarkCoolEdge What it needs to bring in more ppl to it's warm embrace is the ability to share FCs, the ability to add friends and the ability to send PMs directly to your friend list friends. What Miiverse is on the 3DS right now is about how limited it was during the launch of the Wii U. I think Nintendo will make it as full bodied as it is on the Wii U, it will just take them a while… like it does with all things. Hang in there, the ability to say "I'm stuck on this part can anybody help me?" and get a plethora of other users giving you a helping hand is very useful and is also an underrated part of Miiverse.
@Grubdog If there are politics in even a local farmer's market, what makes you think that politics isn't rearing it's ugly head in the video games industry? That's just blind right there. Politics is overly prevalent in the games industry that's why we keep hearing about the stupid issues within the industry that keep cropping up. This is ridiculous. If she is a feminazi then I would say that these people are not wrong in their stance, but if she is just a crusader for human rights, unbiased human rights, then why is that a problem? It's the whole issue of being one sided about human rights and only wanting one group to have all the rights, but if it is about a general appropriation of equality then what's the problem? Come on people, these types of things brings more politics into this than anything else.
@darklinkinfinite I'm right there with you on this one. It does feel stagnant. The prizes are uninspired and they aren't even really for the 3DS or Wii U. Wake up Nintendo, we want more quality items to choose from, not this recycled dreck! This is the second time in the last 8 months that Starship defense has been on this list, weak. Why not give us the option to purchase $5-$10 eShop vouchers? Now that would be something that would keep me interested, because then they aren't forcing me to spend my coins on something that they want me to have, instead we would be given something that allows for more choice and variety, it also limits the possibilities of the items being "Sold Out" so quickly!
@HipsterDashie You are supposed to hope that they eventually allow you to activate more than one 3DS/2DS for each NNID, which (according to the speed with which Nintendo implements things, new or old) could be sometime between now and 2999! Don't count on them allowing you to have a "family" style account, that allows you to use multiple consoles with the same NNID… since that would allow us to have a full on parental control setup and would negate the need for the NintendSA to keep us behaving like good little children, it would also allow us to purchase a game once and then use it multiple times for multiple devices. It is to make them more money in a way.
Am I the only person that is unable to logon to the US eShop after this update? Thought it would be great, but if it broke the eShop, then no… no this is not great!
I also believe that the 3DS and Wii U integration, as limited as it is right now, is going to help the Wii U and Nintendo in general. It's a slow and steady move into the now uber-connected social internet craze. In time I think we will have some type of cross game chat implementation and possibly the ability to start our own Miiverse communities… I can hope right?
I think the Wii U install base will only grow when gamers mature past the point of blind fandom, but that may never happen. When their are enough must have Nintendo exclusives on the platform that really show what the console can do, it will thrive… or at least be as successful as the gamecube.
@GunstarHero234 You liked Other M?! That's incredible, I thought I was the only one! I really enjoyed it. I felt like the story brought Samus into the realm of being a vulnerable human and that made the experience that much better for me. Or maybe you were being sarcastic, either way I loved that game! i did enjoy the Prime series though, so I guess I'm an anomaly. Fine with me.
@Senario I can respect that. I agree with you about the whole "anything worth while", but hopefully something new. I mean it's been a while since Nintendo themselves, not including W101 in this, has really given us a new franchise on their home consoles. Wii Fit doesn't completely qualify in my book. New and exciting games that fully utilize the hardware are the games that really excite me and they are the ones that I anxiously await.
@JaxonH I agree with you on metroid, that needs to happen yesterday! but I was only stating games that we know are coming out next year. You listed some that haven't seen any information for them since January of 2013. Watch Dogs is not exclusive though, I do have that one preordered on the Wii U though , I don't think that higher res is gonna make that game any more awesome than it already will be.
@Gerbwmu As far as FPSs go I would love to see another Conduit on the Wii U. Bring us some of that make it exclusive, then they have more variety than the other two offer. The others mostly have FPSs, Nintendo has a variety of games and having another genre to add to their impressive roster couldn't hurt.

Re: Hideki Kamiya Explains Reasoning For Not Leading Bayonetta 2 Development
@Gerbwmu As far as FPSs go I would love to see another Conduit on the Wii U. Bring us some of that make it exclusive, then they have more variety than the other two offer. The others mostly have FPSs, Nintendo has a variety of games and having another genre to add to their impressive roster couldn't hurt.
