Square Enix has released a brand new trailer for the upcoming Trials of Mana remake on Nintendo Switch, showing off almost four minutes of gameplay.
The trailer gives us a look at some of the features we can expect to enjoy in the game, including your party of three - who are chosen from six heroes available to you in total, as well as the combat system. Upgrading your characters' classes transforms them into powerful new forms, and we also get a glimpse at some of the new abilities you'll be able to utilise.
For those not in the know, the game is a remake of the Super Famicom RPG Seiken Densetsu 3 and is set to launch on Switch on 24th April. If you're eager to learn more about this one's history, you can actually check out the original release on Switch, too; it was part of the Collection of Mana release which came to Switch last year.
Excited for this one? Do you intend on picking it up? Tell us below.

WHY IS THIS THE FIRST TIME IM HEARING ABOUT THIS! Im so excited for Trials of Mana!!!
Im so pumped for this. This is my 2020 game. Everything else is just extra.
I love this sound track!
@Static_Fanatic BECAUSE YOU WERE SLEEPING UNDER A STONE!! Glad you woke up in time!
@mazzel Me too! Gods, I have been needing a new RPG for my Switch.
This game looks breathtaking! Pre ordered in September '19. Can't wait any longer!
I feel like this year is the year of the time sinks. AC, Xenoblade, Trials of Mana....I'm still working on DQXI....I need a clone.
Can't wait for this, feels more promising and complete than the Final Fantasy VII remake. Hopefully after this they remake Secret of Evermore as well.
Not really feeling this one, doesn't seem too appealing.
I'll still be playing Animal Crossing by then, maybe in the winter
...does look nice though!
It looks like they really are going all out with this remake. Can't wait.
This kinda looks like junk tbh. Then again I’ve never been a huge fan of the seiken games
Do I need to play secret of mana to get this one?
Is it open-world or linear?
Getting this hold me over until Xenoblade Chronicles releasees.
This looks great! Can't wait!
@Aurumonado Nope, you don't. It's another story and other characters.
Looking good! I'll definitely pick it up down the line, but probably for PS4.
SO GOOD! Let's hope it doesn't get delayed on Switch...
Dunno how much I’d pay for this. Probably no more than $20
@TimboSlice Why is that? It's a whole new game. It's not like Pokemon ShSw, FFVII Remake or games like those. No need to worry...
Looks good to me. File me under 'interested' please.
Oooooooohhh my hype level "its over 9000!!!"
This game looks beautiful, awesome gameplay.
I need this one now! Haha.
Thanks for bringing this to switch.
One character should be in smash. One main and same as hero different costume/characters .
I'll be playing the original Trials of Mana out of the Mana Collection first, but this will be a purchase down the line. I absolutely loved the E3 Nintendo Treehouse segment on this game!
You what? I'm going to get this just because I've never played this.
@NintendoByNature I'm actually really excited to see what you think about it!
I know the Secret Of Mana remake wasn't received too well but I'm really hyped for Trials of Mana. There's so much to like in the trailer, let's just hope it all comes together well in the end. This is my current game to watch out for this year.
Getting it on Day one!!!
Bought collection of Mana because I never played secret of Mana as a kid... Not impressed. I feel like it's leagues behind FF and CT and maybe even Secret of Evermore. Trials of Mana might be better but we shall see once I get to it.
every time I see more of the trials of mana remake the more I want it so much hype
@Chunkboi79 yea Thanks me too. I know you and i have discussed our opinions on secret and not being so keen on it. But I can tell the series has huge potential, secret just had some flaws with leveling up special powers, ai not helping out, and some other stuff. But I think you told me trials was far and away much better and im all in on this one since it's reveal at e3. It looks amazing.
Literally. Cannot. Wait.
Pump to get this game and preorder bonus....
I want to be hype, but does anyone else think this looks a bit plain, generic and/or slow?... I was a guaranteed buyer at first because of nostalgia, but now I think I’ll have to wait for some reviews. 😬
@Static_Fanatic I still have a huge backlog... Three houses, Witcher, Tales of Vesperia, Diablo 3... Man, so many games, so less time
One of my most anticipated games of 2020. Unfortunately it's super close to FF7R so I can't play it day 1.
Not entirely sold on the shift full action combat, but looking forward it. Also cant wait to hear the soundtrack! The original is one of my faves, and from the 3 tunes on the video, it sounds good so far! (hoping it's one composer, instead of multiple like the remake form the second game which created inconsistencies between styles...)
Already preordered.
@wazlon there was nothing wrong with that remake, just people complaining for the sake of complaining. SE did bring it on themselves though, with all the mobile ports they threw out at everyone expecting to be happy with what they ruined.
Wow, looks good. 🙂
I will pick both Switch and PS4 version.
This will make a great birthday present to myself! 😁
Already pre ordered but really hoping they decide to add coop at some point.
Steam version for me
@Gridatttack isn't the combat kinda the same?
@mazzel not really (?) This looks more to hack n slash for me. The oriignal game was an action rpg with actual timing & cooldown when attacking.
@Gridatttack Actually Trials of Mana already got rif of the coldown bar in the original version. Instead, the characters were flashing whrn the cooldown was done. But you could also just keep pushing the attack button without releasing it and your character would auto attack. Also, the new game pauses when you want to cast a spell or use an item, so I don't think there is much difference... But, we actually will know for sure soon
Still no three player co-op announcement for this yet huh?
Square Enix has 2 remakes coming out in April and nobody is talking about Trials of Mama all eyes are on Final Fantasy 7 Remake
