Re: Huawei Is Launching A New Gaming Phone To Rival The Switch, And It Costs Over $1,000

ThatNyteDaez

How can it directly compete when they fail to mention how it compares to the Switch when its docked? Basically, I'm saying at the end of the day - it's still just a phone. Unlike with the Switch, everyone already has a phone and no one will pick that one up just to play games. It's absurd. Switch does a few things it's closest competitors don't and that's why its thriving. This, however, is just another phone.

Seems to lack the luster of the first ever season of Beyblade. Where are the stadiums with differing environments? Why can't you just move the beyblade wherever you want? Grind, do awesome tricks and balance? And what about the abilities and bit beasts? There were some awesome abilities in the anime, like sinking the stadium and just being forced to fight that way? Or fighting in the midst of a tornado. Like... if they implemented a lot of the anime elements into the games (first season) it'd sell so much better. I'm sure of it.

Re: New Study Suggests That Playing Violent Video Games Leads To Increased Physical Aggression

Back on this topic again, eh? Some people have loads of time on their hands.

Seriously though - testing kids who are still learning what to do and what not to do in the wider world, and then teenagers who are struggling with their identities and puberty and you expect them to come out completely unaffected? Has this study focused on movies as well? Or is this just your 'run-of-the-mill-bias-against-video-games' study?

Re: Arena of Valor - China's Megahit MOBA Shines On Nintendo Switch

I have wanted to play this game since I first heard it was coming on this site. I got to play the BETA and LOVED every moment (well, not when I was losing all the time, per se). Finally back in, it feels like Im able to breathe again. And in fact, I've gotten a deeper understanding of the game thanks to the BETA. Now Im able to battle on almost equal footing with my teammates and enemies and have come out on top as MVP on some occasions. Later on, I know matches will get way more intense and it'll be harder to stick with it, but Im confident that this is a game for everyone and NOW is a great time to join in! Its free after all and everyone's on the same starting block so why not?

I will say that despite heavy emphasis on action and team-play, there is a noticeable strategic flare behind... well everything. Character build, positioning, the choices you make in a match, which lane you pick, jungling. More often I can handle myself but I get incredibly nervous when I have no idea of where the enemy are. And that's the best part of it all, really. Keeps you on your toes at all times and every encounter is exciting. You never know what will happen next. Just because you beat an enemy in a previous encounter, doesn't mean they won't be a force to be reckoned with the next. The game itself rewards aggression and patience in wonderous ways, but strategists, team players and everything in between will thrive in this game. There's something here for everyone so don't be afraid to give it a go!

Re: Opinion: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?

ThatNyteDaez

Isabelle was a surprise.
Town was an interesting surprise.
Splatoon 2's update was amazing
Pokemon is... okay?
Animal Crossing announcement is cool, even if Im not interested.
The online didn't tell us anything new.
The Final Fantasy stuff was pretty cool, I guess.
But I was disappointed by lack of Arena of Valor news. Since it IS releasing this month.
All in all, I feel it could have been better, but it was a strong showing when you factor all of that in.

Re: Video: Bandai Namco Releases New Japanese Trailer For Dragon Ball FighterZ

I have watched youtube videos of this game constantly and have even subbed to youtubers who play the game almost exclusively. It looks great and fun and its a blast to watch at times. But trying out the Beta... I was not good at all. In fact, it's rare that I can excel at a fighting game at all. Other than Smash Brothers, I can never remember/understand the mechanics or combos in the game. And while FighterZ is supposed to be incredibly easy for people to get into - I don't trust that I'd be able to get very far in the game. And thats a real shame. I wish the game well, but I don't think I'll be picking it up. I know I'm the problem here, but I can't spend that much money on a game I wouldn't even be able to finish.
