How can it directly compete when they fail to mention how it compares to the Switch when its docked? Basically, I'm saying at the end of the day - it's still just a phone. Unlike with the Switch, everyone already has a phone and no one will pick that one up just to play games. It's absurd. Switch does a few things it's closest competitors don't and that's why its thriving. This, however, is just another phone.
Hurry up! Stop chatting about it and just DO IT! I'm sick of waiting for a title I expected to drop in the Wii U days! Bring it to the west or shut up, already!
I don't care as much about open world as I do Co-Op multiplayer with full battle, trade & multi-battle capabilities, but it would be nice to have both integrated. Doesn't need to be an MMO either - just four players playing together (or even eight?) would be enough.
Game looks very interesting and I love the art style. Gameplay looks solid too - just like Level 5 to make something solid. But I don't see this coming to the west until late next year. And if thats the case - I'll have lost interest by then. I'll have Smash, Pokemon and a few other gems under my belt by that time. So... Good luck to them.
Seems to lack the luster of the first ever season of Beyblade. Where are the stadiums with differing environments? Why can't you just move the beyblade wherever you want? Grind, do awesome tricks and balance? And what about the abilities and bit beasts? There were some awesome abilities in the anime, like sinking the stadium and just being forced to fight that way? Or fighting in the midst of a tornado. Like... if they implemented a lot of the anime elements into the games (first season) it'd sell so much better. I'm sure of it.
Back on this topic again, eh? Some people have loads of time on their hands.
Seriously though - testing kids who are still learning what to do and what not to do in the wider world, and then teenagers who are struggling with their identities and puberty and you expect them to come out completely unaffected? Has this study focused on movies as well? Or is this just your 'run-of-the-mill-bias-against-video-games' study?
It had me sold when the Banana said "YOU ARE NOT WORTHY!" xD
Seriously though - despite how it looks, I think it's a wonderful little game. I know people will say that the game isn't very ambitious, but it genuinely does look like a blast. I'll be more than happy to pick this up when it launches this month.
Looks fun. I'll probably pick it up. A unique twist would have been if the sword itself was the main protagonist. Actually that's kinda what I thought it was, going by that title.
Should have been on Switch. Maybe it'll come over later - who knows. Either way, Arena of Valor has my attention right now so I'm not really missing out at all.
I have wanted to play this game since I first heard it was coming on this site. I got to play the BETA and LOVED every moment (well, not when I was losing all the time, per se). Finally back in, it feels like Im able to breathe again. And in fact, I've gotten a deeper understanding of the game thanks to the BETA. Now Im able to battle on almost equal footing with my teammates and enemies and have come out on top as MVP on some occasions. Later on, I know matches will get way more intense and it'll be harder to stick with it, but Im confident that this is a game for everyone and NOW is a great time to join in! Its free after all and everyone's on the same starting block so why not?
I will say that despite heavy emphasis on action and team-play, there is a noticeable strategic flare behind... well everything. Character build, positioning, the choices you make in a match, which lane you pick, jungling. More often I can handle myself but I get incredibly nervous when I have no idea of where the enemy are. And that's the best part of it all, really. Keeps you on your toes at all times and every encounter is exciting. You never know what will happen next. Just because you beat an enemy in a previous encounter, doesn't mean they won't be a force to be reckoned with the next. The game itself rewards aggression and patience in wonderous ways, but strategists, team players and everything in between will thrive in this game. There's something here for everyone so don't be afraid to give it a go!
See, Android 17 should have been in the game from the start. But I guess making him DLC means that little bit extra in money... Whatever. Long as he's in it. Alongside Frieza, 17 is one of my favourite characters. So it's about bloody time.
Isabelle was a surprise. Town was an interesting surprise. Splatoon 2's update was amazing Pokemon is... okay? Animal Crossing announcement is cool, even if Im not interested. The online didn't tell us anything new. The Final Fantasy stuff was pretty cool, I guess. But I was disappointed by lack of Arena of Valor news. Since it IS releasing this month. All in all, I feel it could have been better, but it was a strong showing when you factor all of that in.
New stage, new weapons, new Sub/Specials... Always a pleasure! And is that Shifty Station being officially added? AND THEY MENTIONED IT HAS 100 VARIATIONS!?
@NinjaSyao I was waiting for someone to point that out. Clearly if they had a version being made beforehand and just halted it, there was no need for port begging in any capacity. They'd have finished it off when there was nothing else occupying their time.
@BigKing I have several matches in Splatoon 2 where disconnects are rare. Haven't noticed any at all in Ranked, at least. Although I am aware it happens, its very rare for me, personally. In the waiting lobby, however... Different story. People jump in and out all the time, but I think that's down to the players themselves.
Not that I will be getting this anyway. But asking us to port beg at this stage is now ridiculous. I fully expect this to stop when Smash launches - that's when the sales can speak for themselves.
This is entirely my kind of game. Action RPG with surprisingly diverse range of characters and weapons and is bright and colourful. But it's not coming to Switch? And isn't even coming to Europe (for now)? That's just a double slap in the face. The multiplayer especially would have been great to play but I guess Nintendo just doesn't like those of us who are in the UK.
I have watched youtube videos of this game constantly and have even subbed to youtubers who play the game almost exclusively. It looks great and fun and its a blast to watch at times. But trying out the Beta... I was not good at all. In fact, it's rare that I can excel at a fighting game at all. Other than Smash Brothers, I can never remember/understand the mechanics or combos in the game. And while FighterZ is supposed to be incredibly easy for people to get into - I don't trust that I'd be able to get very far in the game. And thats a real shame. I wish the game well, but I don't think I'll be picking it up. I know I'm the problem here, but I can't spend that much money on a game I wouldn't even be able to finish.
