@daggdroppen Whose 'we'? I, for one, want this game and am glad it's coming soon-ish.
Just... please be THIS YEAR. Otherwise with Pokemon in my hands, I won't really need to look at anything else (except Arena of Valor since I'm apparently hooked).
Looks absolutely stunning - a perfect fit for the Switch in all honesty. But I'm genuinely surprised there's no multiplayer. Three fully usable characters and instead two of them are either always following your every move or are just completely motionless. Its just wasted potential, really.
I love action games and the combo-heavy action Platinum Games brings to the table with each game is what I consider top class.
I just don't like what Astral Chain is going for. For me personally, the only selling point is the action - I'm not interested in the character designs, the world, the Legions... It's unfortunate but thats the way it is. I do hope the rest of you will thoroughly enjoy it though!
In general I'm not a fan of the Shovel Knight series, despite playing one of the games on 3DS but this actually looks incredibly fun. I'll keep an eye on it.
I'd be interested if Gold/Ethan was available in the game BUT I SAW THAT HE ISN'T!? Why are other protagonists in this game as well as a brand new pair, and my favourite is nowhere to be seen???
I feel like getting Will of the Wisps at the very least makes sense. Why give us the first game months before the second game comes out without the intention of letting people see an end to the story in its entirety?
Now what about Will of the Wisps...? This is great and stuff - don't get me wrong. I'm a bit sad I spoiled it for myself by watching a Lets Play of it instead of getting to try it for myself now its coming to Switch. But hopefully this means we'll get the second game too at some point.
"Yes, Nintendo has every right to protect its music, and nobody should expect to be able to distribute its content without facing repercussions, but Nintendo doesn't offer an alternative."
Because they don't have to? Nintendo makes the music to be enjoyed in the games they make. You buy the game/the product they are selling and you get to enjoy as much of that music as you want.
Granted, it would be nice to have Nintendo provide an alternative. I'm not disagreeing with that. But assuming someone else gets to fill that role "just because" isn't the correct response. You don't use/steal an artists work "just because". This is the same.
This sounds phenomenal! I'd love to play this with my buddy! Co-Op Platformers are a rare breed and this one actually seems to involve solid, unique mechanics on top of an interesting art style. I'm... Welp, this is going on my wish list.
I don't really see the smiliarity tbh. It's a bit of a stretch in the same way that Lickitung covered in black and white paint pays KISS homage. That said, glad the response to this new pokemon is positive. So I can't really complain (not that I'm trying to )
"All-new" I came into this article HOPING they'd say something about Phantasy Star Online. The real question is, did I set myself up for disappointment or are Sega really that much of a troll?
Highlight of this Splatfest for me is seeing Pearl as an arena hazard. I loved the teams for this one too. I feel like everyone could have gone either way, really. But in a game about inking everything and swimming up walls, I feel like Chaos would have been a sure win every time. Love Splatoon 2 though. I didn't stop playing because it stopped being fun. I stopped playing because other games took my interest and I'd been playing it daily since it came out.
I had some issues with my original grey joycon after a year. Just bought some new neon ones after. They had issues too after awhile, got them replaced, then those replaced until finally, the ones I have now have been going strong for awhile.
Hopefully this lawsuit becomes something palpable and we'll bet some major improvements. I wouldn't want to have to get another few pairs...
You guys are honestly obsessed with this "every pokemon follows you" thing to the point where it makes no sense. I really don't get what the big deal about it is but almost everyone seems to think of it as a gamechanger when it's really not. Sun & Moon or X & Y at the very least should have been higher than a simple remake that added some improvements since they added whole new mechanics that changed the game for the better. Pokemon following you adds nothing - it's just an aesthetic difference.
I'm genuinely surprised Cyberpunk 2077 was lower on the list than Call of Duty. Even as someone who isn't that much into shooters and the like, you can tell that game has flare.
All kidding aside - I LOVE Impidimp. It's cute, awesome and has an amazing typing. I just hope it turns out to have better stats than Sableye (which is actually one of my favourite pokemon by the way) or an evolve form. Either way, I'm very happy.
I'm keeping my expectations low and my mind open. Frankly, Pokemon has already set me to believe Nintendo can perform very well this year and, while Square Enix did amazing, I'm only really interested in one or two of their games. Same with Xbox. Nintendo just need to bring 2-3 more and I'll consider their showing that much more impressive than others this year.
The only hope I have for a new Nintendo IP is for them to maybe jump into the MOBA space. Arena of Valor hasn't turned out too well but its made me realize that it's very addictive in terms of gameplay. If Nintendo went into it with their own twists and unique characters, I frankly couldn't be happier.
And I suppose since we're never getting PSO now (thanks Sega...) I'm hoping something like that would be the knockout I need.
The Co-Op! It's looking like they#re actually going to take it seriously! Im thinking they're probably going for making it available after you beat the main story. It's not exactly what I wanted but at least they're doing something with it!
@Zoda_Fett @Ardisan The only thing this game seems to have in common with Splatoon is just how much colour is it. And maybe the traversal on walls. But that's not really enough to lump them together, I don't think.
Dammit! This was one of my most hyped titles this year! It's great that it hasn't been scrapped completely but I had really been looking forward to this. Oh well, long as it actually comes next spring...
Yes, yessssss! Lightning of Absolutio-- I mean, this looks great. I expect the finished movie to look something like this, otherwise they're not getting my money.
@TempOr What about the rest of us who DID buy into the dozens of toys when they specifically said there would be functionality in ALL games going forward for them? This isn't justified just because a couple of you weren't interested or didn't have the money. The rest of us were promised something for our money which the original game delivered on. Expecting the same from the sequel isn't asking for much.
So wait, what does this mean exactly? It was obvious for awhile that Arena of Valor was being left to die, but are things going to pick back up at some point in the future or are we just not going to see anything else? I play Arena of Valor nearly every day and the game is super fun, but the lack of updates and patches has seriously hurt it from a community standpoint.
Either way, I hope Nintendo are watching and are taking something away from this. Because there are plenty of other MOBA's out there that they can acquire for Switch if they were serious about it. The latest and most interesting being "Extraordinary Ones". Either bring that to Switch or get started on making their own full of Nintendo IP's. Either way, Nintendo needs to fill this apparent void somehow.
Im on the fence about this. They'd have been much better off going the Moba route with pokemon imo. But here we are, getting... whatever this is. It reminds me of Yokai watch, strangely enough. Ah well...
So I went and checked out the Character Creation yesterday like I said I would - and I'm actually very impressed. They seem to have gone quite far in making each character feel varied and unique. I'm sold - I'll be grabbing this when it comes out. I kiiiiinda wish they expanded on the powersets a bit more. It looks like they just went for the most popular/prominent powers in their universe that appears commonly enough. But either way, it would still make most people happy and that's what's important, I guess. I like that we're getting all the DLC with it too. So thats an extra couple of elements for people to look forward to.
Pity I don't really care that much about any Marvel character. Spiderman's cool but I don't really feel that strongly about him. Carnage is more in line with what I like but it's always a stretch that he'll be added in for any game. And even then... Venom is always a main pick.
Speed might be more my thing but its unlikely he'll get in either.
I'm interested in Town and do want to see more. But I swear to god if Sword and Shield are held back in ANY WAY in terms of content - I'm basically going to swear off Pokemon then. Because clearly they don't care about the IP anymore and fans have started getting bored with it too. I love Pokemon to death and always thought it was fine as is, but to put the worlds biggest IP second to their own projects tells me they don't care about their fanbase at all. We're second-fiddle to their own stuff. And that's seriously bad.
This... could actually be a fantastic addition to my library... I'm genuinely surprised! I'm going to have to look into how far the character customization goes, but I guess for so far, I'm pretty sold. Not so happy its not Cross Platform, but if the gameplay is solid enough - I won't even care. Its got Multiplayer Online and you can make your own character - that's often good enough for me, really.
Nooooooooo! The moment you start to put Pokemon second - thats the moment everyone else starts to do the same! Pokemon is the current number 1 IP in the world! It'll be years before something else Gamefreak makes can even get half as much attention! They should be shoving as many ideas into Pokemon as possible! Not withholding the best ones and putting them elsewhere! I swear if this is the reason we haven't gotten true co-op in Pokemon all these years, I'm gonna be pissed. Like... really!?

People will get angry over anything these days. It's really sad. Like... seriously 100% sad. Who honestly cares either way what its called??
