Re: Random: Academy Award Winner Brie Larson's Mind Was Just Blown By Doug Bowser

ThatNyteDaez

I kinda hate the favouritism that goes on in our society.
You wouldn't see Doug send a question like that to your average nobody fan. Likewise, I'm not too thrilled by her and what she's said in the past about heterosexual white men (I'm neither hetero nor white but hopefully my opinion is still valid to her!!!) so this post/article certainly isn't winning any points with me.

Re: Professional Fortnite Player Gets Banned For Life After Uploading Videos Of Himself Cheating

ThatNyteDaez

I'm pretty sure EVERYONE who plays a game and cheats knows exactly what the risks are. We're taught from a very young age that cheating is wrong and is normally punished in our society. That's why its frowned upon and why people generally HIDE the fact that they've done it.

You cheat on a test and caught? Punished. Whether that punishment is substantial or not remains to be seen, but the kid is taught "hey, if I do this, it'll have negative consequences for me".

This kid is at least 14-15. So he's FULLY aware of what he's doing and the repercussions. And as someone mentioned above, he was joking about getting banned too when he thought he could get away with it. So there's no reason to defend his actions. Case closed.

Re: The Overwatch 2 Leak Was Extremely Demoralising For The Development Team

ThatNyteDaez

I try and ignore leaks as best as I can. The recent pokemon leaks, for example have been annoying but I've managed to avoid seeing most of them. They ruin the surprise factor and companies who are trickling the information out themselves or intend to are trying to create a certain atmosphere for their fanbase to enjoy the game as best they can. What they try and do is generate hype whereas leakers take that hype, run it all the way down the spectrum and leave the fans to crash and burn with their expectations.

The tldr version is that these sorts of experiences are ruined by leakers and we really should consider ostracizing those who would present those leaks. We do worse on other subjects so why do leakers get a pass?

Re: Epic Sues User Experience Tester For Leaking Fortnite Chapter 2

ThatNyteDaez

He signed an NDA and immediately told people about the expansion? Kind of a stupid move. I dunno how some of you can defend this kind of stupidity - you wouldn't like it if you told a friend you were getting married and they went behind your back to tell your fiancee BEFORE you got to propose. This is essentially the same thing except with a company and its game.

Re: Atelier Ryza Producer Surprised That Fans Find Lead Character So Sexy

ThatNyteDaez

I'm pretty sure devs look at her like she's their daughter, so of course they didn't make her with the intent to be sexually appealing. It's just not that kind of game and young girls wear short shorts all the time. However, as someone above mentioned, all kinds of people will look at the character and interpret her in whatever ways they want, so this couldn't really be avoided - regardless of how she was dressed.

Re: Pokémon Sword And Shield Will Feature New Gigantamax Forms Of Charizard, Pikachu And More

ThatNyteDaez

@Reigestugatensho Dynamax is the standard big transformation that all pokemon can use. It just makes them bigger, gives them access to the standard Dynamax moves other Dynamax pokemon can use and that's basically it. Gigantamax not only makes them bigger, but also changes their appearance and gives them a signature Gigantamax move that only that species of Gigantamax pokemon can use. It looks to me like Gigantamax is the "better" version of massive pokemon but Dynamax makes every pokemon just as useable. I'd say it's a better system then Mega Evolution as it gives all pokemon a chance to be strong and hold some weight to them.

Re: Junichi Masuda Says Cut Pokémon Will "Definitely" Return In Future Games

ThatNyteDaez

Oh here we go... I'm honestly tired of this discussion. It had to happen eventually. Some people just can't accept that producing a brand new pokemon experience every year or so AND having to mess around with 1000+ pokemon (forms, movesets etc) per generation would eventually become too much. All the naysayers just aren't thinking practically and that's why they're so angry. The mob mentality has really taken itself to absurd heights with this.

And yes, some of you will say "this is the final straw and its been building for awhile", I'll say this: Would you rather have all pokemon in and less/no new features or would you rather what we're getting now with Sword and Shield? Quality and only a select number of pokemon? People need to recognize this will be much healthier for the games in the long-run and make the meta much more interesting too. Rather than having the same 50+ pokemon being used by everyone over and over because of how they outclass every other pokemon, we're getting a chance to see new/less frequently used pokemon take the spotlight. And no way can that be a bad thing in any respect.

Re: Nintendo Download: 26th September (Europe)

ThatNyteDaez

Ori and the Blind Forest and Reaper for me. It's only up from here, folks!

Also, I had Reaper way back when it first came out on mobile and unintentionally sank HOURS into that game. The gameplay was surprisingly gripping and fun and the upgrades you purchased really felt like they helped make you more formidable. I'm hoping the new control scheme on Switch (with actual buttons) makes it that much better, but it was already pretty fun as it was. So I won't complain either way. Seriously guys, for a mobile game port, it's definately worth your time!

Re: Guide: Pokémon Sword And Shield: All Version-Exclusive Pokémon And Gym Leaders

ThatNyteDaez

@TheBlobfish For the record, I understand your point of view but only ever focusing on previous pokemon in a new game defeats the purpose of the new game. But since you're intending not to, its neither here nor there. I'll say its fine to have favourites but what really makes the games/concept shine as a whole is picking up new pokemon and giving them a shot - even those you never figured you would like can become favourites. I, for one, generally despise the grass typing but Cherrim is one of my favourite pokemon despite that because I gave it a shot. But I suppose different people have different tastes so you're welcome to skip this gen if you really want.

I also never liked the Mega Evolutions concept so I've been very happy to see the back of it, going into Sword and Shield. But at least you can continue to play previous titles that have the features you want. Nothing is stopping you from doing so now or anytime in the future.

Re: Guide: Pokémon Sword And Shield: All Version-Exclusive Pokémon And Gym Leaders

ThatNyteDaez

Since Sirfetch'd is clearly going to be the fighting gym's signature mon, I can't wait to see what the ghost gym's signature ghost will be!

@aVagabond The pvp battling, I'd say. After I finish the main game, I end up breeding, shiny hunting and then eventually pvping other players. The actual battle mechanics are very indepth and fun - knowledge is power in the game so the more you know, the stronger you and your team will be. Its like... a way better version of chess, in that way. Not to mention these are new games and the latest in the series. So they'll just be building on the core aspects we've come to know and love while adding in a number of additions. Raid battles, for example.

It's gonna be great!

Re: Yo-Kai Watch 4 Will No Longer Be A Nintendo Switch Exclusive

ThatNyteDaez

I'm just sad that we've 'lost' an exclusive but I don't hate that Yokai Watch 4 will be available to PS4 owners. It's their right to distribute the game on whichever system they want and the more people that play it means Level 5 get more money for it. So it's great. I guess I'll just miss the fact that when talking about reasons to specifically own a Switch, Yokai Watch 4 won't be one of them.

Re: Nintendo Files Lawsuit Against ROM Website Offering Nearly 300,000 Switch Downloads

ThatNyteDaez

I genuinely can't believe some of you are okay with taking something that doesn't belong to you for nothing in exchange. That's literally what our entire modern-age society is based upon. Distribution of goods for currency. Nothing is free unless stated so by the party with possession of said product. So why do you people assume it's okay to take something that used to be sold without paying a price towards the production in some fashion???
