@ROBLOGNICK Did you try looking in the "Recent Releases" section and scrolling down a bit? Brand new titles get swamped fairly quickly on the eshop. But they're there.
Definitely picking this up. Fighters and combo mechanics dont particularly gel well with me because I suck. But multiplayer and plenty of depth sounds like a load of fun anyway.
I'll always pick the water starter no matter what. And Oshawatt's one of the good ones. Im not that big on Samurott but better the water line then fire or grass.
@Snatcher Ultra is so weird. At one point I had like 4-5 straight wins that got me to Ultra 4. But then the very next day, I got like 7-8 straight losses that landed me in Ultra 2. And it just felt absurd. I haven't even tried to go into Standard for random fun because its just not fair for others in there and there's nothing to actually play for. So yeah, I dunno what to do in the game, honestly. I have pretty much everything as it is.
I haven't been playing as much as I did two-three weeks ago. Still somewhat interested but new pokemon are coming to the game really slow imo. I have other games to play that aren't trying to get more money out of me and I have a Moba that I still find to be a better experience in AoV. So... yeah...
I just want Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl to be 1 to 1 comparable to Diamond and Pearl way back. If they can manage at least that much, they'll be a success. Add on extras like Online battle capability, pokemon from later regions and other goodies and I'll be more than happy with the purchase.
As for Legends Arceus, Im keeping my expectations so low, I'm barely interested in it. I still want the game and I still want it to be good. But I'm not holding any hope for it. The rest of the year wont be ruined for me if it turns out to be a bad game.
This again? Its actually stupid. The addiction to gaming is only bad for people who actually have an addiction. If someone who games about as much as they would watch tv, then there is no issue. It just so happens that tv isn't interactive and gaming is.
And while I don't particularly care for Fortnite, this part of the article is laughable:
`I was shocked, and indignant, that there was something out there, unregulated and freely available to our kids, which was considered highly dangerous but nobody was doing anything about it. It was like someone was coming into my son’s bedroom at night and injecting him with an addictive drug.`
'Unregulated'? This coming from a mother? As in, she expects someone else to parent her child for her? Lady, YOU'RE the one who needs to do something about your kids unhealthy habits. Like... how is that even up for debate at this point. If you see your own kid playing too many games, step in. Thats your duty as the parent. No one elses. Granted, I personally dont see much issue to playing games as much as one wants - it has its benefits and is a great alternative to, say, drugs, gangs, etc etc but what do I know?
Though I wouldn't let my future kids game to the point where I'd get worried and would demand someone else steps in to tell them to slow down. Clearly she isn't very involved in her sons life. Yeesh.
So Toem, Tetris and Gangbeasts are what made the show a good one. I'd even go so far as to say Tetris made it a great one. But even then, I only voted a passing grade of C. Because Tetris and Gangbeasts have been out for ages on other platforms and while Toem is a nice little title, I have no plans to buy it. Great titles, but not an ideal showing.
I love this! I never expected myself to be much of a Tetris fan, but after picking up Puyo Puyo Tetris and spending quite a few games enjoying the Tetris side, I could see myself picking up Tetris Effect: Connected hands down. In fact, I'd say I most certainly became enthralled by it's soundtrack and visuals back when it first launched. And I still remember its main theme.
The Multiplayer + Raid boss aspects made me more then a little jealous too! So I'm very much looking forward to this. I just hope the price isnt too crazy.
@Snatcher Eldegoss' healing was way too good! You just couldn't kill it or whomever its partnered with at all. Like, early game against an Eldegoss makes it so that the partner doesn't need to worry about consequences at all. Also almost healing their partner some 50%+ in a second or two is too much.
Im still very disappointed that there's no addition to the processing power. But as I've said before, I'm probably going to get it anyway. My Switch is a Day 1 launch Switch and at this point I've been missing out on the better battery life anyway. And since I play my Switch exclusively handheld mode, I definitely want to see what all the fuss is about around the visual improvements.
Also I might as well upgrade now since I dont know when Nintendo will decide to release the pro (if they do at all). Because if nothing else, I'll get to see Pokemon Shining Pearl in the best quality possible.
Glad to see Gengar got the nerf I (and some others) were hoping for. I'm surprised to see that some have been given buffs where they didn't need it and others haven't.
Also they should not have buffed Zeraora. Oh my god, that's not a good idea. The few times I play with him, he's already capable of 100-0ing with that combo. Now they made it probable that he'll be able to take the tanks down too What are they thinking?
Edit: Also glad Eldegoss' healing is getting nerfed. That was a huge problem too.
@Snatcher Woah, you think so? I was expecting it to be like... at least one new pokemon per season. But every month sounds like impossible. Unless they already had them sitting on the back-burner.
I actually mentioned some of my preferred choices when I filled out the survey. So hopefully the design team gets a look and considers that. Spiritomb would be amazing in this game xD But even if not, I'm also pretty happy with what we have now.
Other MOBA's have loads of characters to pick from, so Im expecting we at least end up with 40-50 by the time they stop adding to Unite's roster.
@Snatcher In that case, all I can say is "good luck" and "god speed". xD Ranked is hell.
I hope we get some interesting new pokemon but I spoilered myself with the leaks and I'm only interested in one of them. Looking forward to them all the same though!
@Snatcher Those are the best teammates! I love players like that because it makes me want to protect them later and give them a better experience ingame too! I'll sometimes help weaken a wild pokemon a teammate's started on then leave once its low enough just to get them all the exp. I cant imagine why anyone would steal exp from teammates when stronger teammates means better chances to win the whole match. Stealing from teammates cripples the overall fighting power of the team - how have some people not understood that?
I rarely see junglers take the first pokemon at the start but it doesnt bother me if they do. Junglers are the ones who are at least expected to put the most work in so I usually give them a pass if they think it'll help them. Im not against getting carried to a win, honestly haha.
But yeah, not getting help in lane when we're clearly losing is the worst. I'll put so many alerts out and die so many times but no one comes so it just goes on and on until the enemy is literally knocking at the base. I still have no idea of why Im still Veteran rank when the worst stuff always seems to happen in my matches.
Edit: Also, I might pick up Garchomp soon. Less people are choosing All-Rounders and Garchomp seems really strong and fun.
@Snatcher I feel like you're totally useless until you reach your final evolution a lot of the time in this game. And farming is all you can do to reach that point. But teammates will happily take your farm if they feel like it so when everyone else is level 7-8, you're still level 4-5 and trying to just survive. A lot of my games have been like that, actually... Super annoying, for ranked matches.
But yeah Ralts-Gardevoir seems like a really strong/fun line. I cant wait to see where people go with her.
@Snatcher Exactly! Just because one person is able to handle Gengar, doesn't mean the rest of the team will be so lucky. Gengar literally has no fear and will go anywhere on the map they want. That means all players on the opposing team need to worry about it whether they like it or not.
@shadowmoon522 Mine's at like 54.5% winrate. I'm not gonna pretend Gengar is the only reason I lose. Obviously there are gonna be other factors (like when I unknowingly get baited into following an enemy right to their team) but I find the Gengar one being the most common.
@Snatcher I'm so glad to hear that! It's definitely a solid game even with its flaws so I'm glad to hear you feel the same.
@Shadowmoon522 Dunno what to tell you, bud. Gengar usually comes to my lane at level 5 while Im level 3-4 and destroys me and my lane partner whether we're on our point or not. If you manage to get a lead on a Gengar then, yeah, its not a threat at all. But more often then not, thats not the case for those in lane. At least, not in my experience. Of course I can't speak for your own encounters.
Anime characters are plentiful and most look exactly the same.
However, I legit think Gon's design is iconic. I have yet to see another anime character who looks even somewhat similar to him. His outfit, his hair, I can't see that silhouette being anyone else. So that's honestly an amazing, (and damning) discovery. Who'd have thought Gon wanted to become a Pokemon Master once he split from Killua. Crazy.
@snatcher Oh sweet! I hope you'll check it out again soon! The game has its flaws and issues but its good enough to have kept me around since the game launched. Maybe I'll see you in there at some point xD
Ah! Then you might just stick around after all! Sweeeeet! xD
@Snatcher Woah! You play Arena of Valor too? Do you still play or have you lost interest? I haven't played since Unite came out but I'm hoping to jump back in at some point. Still love that game to death no matter how much I lose.
And sorry for the late response. Had somewhere to be yesterday and today.
I'm hoping pokemon from other gens will be available in the post game. That will mean I'll get to bring my main team over and have a blast once again!
This will be so great!
Edit: Right, so I forgot to mention what sort of time I'd have. I forgot what I usually go for in the Sinnoh region to start with. But Piplup is a certainty, since water type. I might try and seek out a Sneasel/Weavile but beyond that, I'm not completely sure. Depends on what I see. Maybe I'll try some pokemon I've never tried before. I used to always just grab what I liked the look of and work my way through that way. But maybe I should pick up a Gardevoir for once and see what all the fuss is about lol.
I just played a match right now with a Gengar and he TOOK OUT THE ENTIRE TEAM AGAIN! faigaighjas;hja; xDDDD AND I SAW 2K DAMAGE!
We still won... but yikes, dude!
@Snatcher That's cool! I'm glad you have a new favourite to play with in Gardevoir. I have a handful of picks I can switch to if someone else on the team picks one of mine. But regardless of what you pick, I hope you're enjoying the game all the same. Gengar or otherwise haha.
And thank you! Tones can be difficult to read in text and that's always one of my main concerns when I speak on this site. But I'm glad we were able to see each others point of view on the topic. It's been lovely speaking to you as well, my guy!
@myfirsteevee Thank you so much for saying so! I partly wonder if I came off a bit snarky (which wasn't my intention at all) but hopefully I got the message across, haha.
Ah, well I'm glad you haven't had to deal with certain Gengar just yet. But you just might sooner rather then later.
Unfortunately I've seen instances of Gengar soloing a team by themselves, and that's insane compared to say, Zeraora or Absol who can take down 2-3 people solo. Granted, Absol is a rare pick in my games and Zeraora isn't nearly as common as Gengar, so that might be why I have more examples to look back on. But I do know each pokemons level also plays a huge part in how often Gengar gets to pop off.
Anyway I'm ranting again. So I'll just say; yes, we should totally team up sometime! I'll add you and your wife right away. Feel free to invite me into a match anytime if you see me online! I'm not one of the best players but I do perform well enough, I think. See you both in the arena sometime!
@myfirsteevee Haha, I already filled the survey it out. But thanks for the heads up! I'm glad they were willing to ask for player feedback so soon, so I wrote some 500 words on what I think of the game. Was fun. x3 Zeraora is pretty strong but he doesn't feel quite as unbalanced as Gengar who can repeatedly spam his abilities over and over. Zeraora is just fast and hits hard, but he seems to be easily dealt with under the right circumstances.
@snatcher Oh, well that's cool. It's great that as a Gengar main you feel like he's somewhat balanced, but there are countless videos online already about how busted the Sludge Bomb + Hex combo is. A Gengar with 20+ items does some 1.5K damage each hit and is practically invincible during it. And then there's the fact that getting away from a Gengar is often too late once they land the sludge bomb. In duels he's powerful but in teamfights its impossible to deal with. I'm in Veteran rank right now so maybe that might have something to do with the sorts of Gengar I'm coming across. The only viable way I can think of to deal with Gengar is with Slowbro's Telekinesis and even then, that's not totally dealing with it. Only delaying it...
And yes, I have been upgrading my items since day one - I'm aware. But even after all that, my items were barely level 12 or so once I used them all. Its only now that I started funneling money into the game that my stuff is 26, 21, 21 etc.
Also, yes there is. I'd suggest taking a look in the Shop items > find the upgrades item and click on it. It'll ask if you want to buy more and you can select the amount. If you still dont believe me, go and find a guide. I've been doing it and there are others who are exactly the same. There's videos online for it too. So I'm not sure why you don't know what I'm talking about...
@sublogic I really hope so. In the higher ranks of the game, Gengar is in every match and is almost always going for that specific combo. Killing them/dealing with them when they get going is so bad! And I have level 20+ stuff now and still find them hard to take down.
@elitexeos Its very interesting that you'd say that since this is the first I've heard anyone call Pikachu broken. I'll take a look around and see what others have been saying. Zeraora feels strong to me, but not exactly broken. Though I agree he could probably do with some nerfs too. I think the main problem is not knowing what level equipment other people have and whether its the pokemon itself or if its their items. But before i spent my money to get my pokemon strong, certain pokemon just felt absurd. Now some stand out as being strong compared to others. Maybe I'll reserve my judgement for when all my stuff is 30, 30, 30 before I try and figure out whose broken or not. Pikachu used to feel absurd to me but now it feels about average. But we'll see.
@sviper Yeah I found out too late. Thanks for pointing it out though haha
Wish they'd fix current broken characters before adding new ones. Gengar's so busted.
I've been enjoying the game so far though. I expected to hate it, thinking its lack of towers, minions and equipment mid-match would make it stale. But it's actually turned out to be a fun time. Once you play it, all concerns seem to go right out the window.
But the pay to win aspect of it is seriously cracked. You can tell immediately who has maxed out items and who doesn't. And while I'd hoped such a thing would be minor boosts here and there for an advantage of maybe 5% better stats across the board, instead we got something that might as well be 90-100% difference. And that's really bad.
And now I'm also part of the problem. So... yikes, dude. They really should change it and soon. There's already way too much stuff that's busted in the game so the sooner the better, really.
I've said it before but I'll say it again - the idea of Moba and Pokemon merging is still awesome. It has so much potential and could easily have dominated the MOBA space in a similar vein to League of Legends. Possibly even rivalling it. The pokemon brand is HUGE and widely known, and MOBA's are addictive and competitive fun. You can't get mess up that combination.
Unfortunately... they have. I can't believe I have to say this but... they literally did EVERYTHING wrong! It didn't even need to do anything unique or different to be a success. Just some sort of carbon copy of League of Legends, Arena of Valor, Smite - ANY OTHER MOBA and the game would have been great. If nothing else, the pokemon twist would have been more then enough to draw a crowd. But they stripped out everything that makes moba's interesting and just left... crap. Like, no towers? No minions? No equipment? What exactly is left? I couldn't even tell you. They didn't even try to go for type advantages and disadvantages which is one of the main mechanics that makes pokemon SO engaging to begin with. I dont know how they could possibly mess this up, and am surprised Tencent let it get to this point too, knowing how successful Arena of Valor is and why. But... here we are.
I have it downloaded already. And the only reason I did so was to grab Zeraora. I dont plan on playing it any longer then 5 games. I play Arena of Valor virtually every day and I love it to this day. So if Pokemon doesn't impress, I have little reason not to toss it aside. Hopefully they listen to fan feedback and add in everything that makes the Moba space so enjoyable. But I can't imagine that being for awhile... And thats the saddest part of all. By then, it'll be too late.
He didn't have much creative sway on the games and their direction. Pretty sure he just mostly looked at the market and strategies for making sure Nintendo wouldn't tank in America. I wouldn't call that the 'top', personally. But I suppose outside of HQ in Japan, there's no other word for it.
I've had the demo downloaded for awhile now but I just havent gotten around to playing it yet. But this trailer really makes me want to give it a shot sooner.
I wouldn't get this system even if someone offered it to me for free. That said, I'm disappointed that Valve have made a legitimate handheld beast that can also be hooked up to a tv. We were told that power was sacrificed for portability where the Switch was concerned. But isn't this proof that that's practically, erm, horse crap?
This has tipped the scales for me tbh. I was considering getting an OLED this year but now I think I'll wait for the next one. No point getting it now that I know NIntendo could have made implemented a better chip with it.

Looks nice! I'd have loved it more if it was 4 player but still looks like something I might pick up!
Re: Pokémon Unite Update Adds Gardevoir, Charizard Gets Nerfed
@Snatcher Woah! You play Arena of Valor too? Do you still play or have you lost interest? I haven't played since Unite came out but I'm hoping to jump back in at some point. Still love that game to death no matter how much I lose.
And sorry for the late response. Had somewhere to be yesterday and today.
Re: What Pokémon Will You Be Using In The Diamond And Pearl Remakes? Nintendo Wants To Know
I'm hoping pokemon from other gens will be available in the post game.
Re: Pokémon Unite Update Adds Gardevoir, Charizard Gets Nerfed
Re: Pokémon Unite Update Adds Gardevoir, Charizard Gets Nerfed
Re: Pokémon Unite Update Adds Gardevoir, Charizard Gets Nerfed
@drewber2635 I'm the first? Well I'd say you're very lucky then. Plenty of players say he's broken and there are loads of videos about it too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zkn07gYPn2M&ab_channel=Nononom12 & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQ3GmFkWXoU & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kYyzlWaXno
If you don't think he's broken - great! I hope it says that way for you. But I'm getting a very different experience/perspective, I think.
Re: Pokémon Unite Is Adding A New Monster Tomorrow
Re: Eye-Catching Platformer Greak: Memories Of Azur Gets A Switch-Exclusive Demo
Looking forward to this. I'd have preferred to not have to use all three characters but I'll still check it out.
Re: Poll: Pokémon Unite Is Imminent But Divisive - Are You Planning To Try It?
Re: Aloof Aims To Be The 'Cutest Puzzle-Fighter Ever'
Cute and unique. Nice!
Re: Former Nintendo Of America President Reveals His New Book
He didn't have much creative sway on the games and their direction. Pretty sure he just mostly looked at the market and strategies for making sure Nintendo wouldn't tank in America. I wouldn't call that the 'top', personally. But I suppose outside of HQ in Japan, there's no other word for it.
Re: Cygames' Card-Battler Shadowverse Gets A Local Release On Switch This August
I've had the demo downloaded for awhile now but I just havent gotten around to playing it yet. But this trailer really makes me want to give it a shot sooner.
Re: Valve's Steam Deck Might Be The Closest We'll Get To A Switch Pro In 2021
I wouldn't get this system even if someone offered it to me for free.
Re: New Pokémon Snap Characters Cameoed In Last Year's Movie, Four Months Before The Game Launched
That's such a nice touch.
Re: Tag Heuer Reveals Limited-Edition $2,150 Super Mario Watch
I might be interested if there was a better character on there. But just Mario is kinda dull.
Re: Should I Buy A Switch OLED? Which Nintendo Switch Is Best For Me?
If there's a trade-in option to get money off the OLED, then I might just go for it. Even if it is just £50 off.
Re: After Months Of 'Switch Pro' Rumours, Nintendo Officially Unveils The Nintendo Switch OLED Model
Not impressed. I'm still going to get it since I could use the upgrade (had my Switch since day one) but they could have done more with it. Ah well...
