Update: Pokémon Masters is now available on iOS devices as well. According to the Apple Store, this version is 644.4 MB.
Original Article: The next big Pokémon game on mobile has arrived. Yes, that's right - if you own an Android device, you can now rush over to the Google Play Store and download Pokémon Masters. Unfortunately, the iOS version of the game does not appear to be available on the Apple Store just yet.
The file for the Google Play download is around 80 MB. However, The Pokémon Company says you'll need to have at least 1.3 GB of space available in order to play. Right now, there appear to be some teething issues as well - with the game supposedly crashing for some players.
It's also worth pointing out that during the launch period, you'll be able to net useful in-game items. Read more about this in our previous post. When you boot up the game for the first time, you'll need to fill in your date of birth, sign off on a few legal terms and conditions and then register a Nintendo account. After this, you'll be prompted to download the rest of the game.

Welp, I have Android...time to check this out.
EDIT: Nope, not there.
I'll download it later on wi-fi. Not worth burning 1.3gb of data. That 80mb probably means 80mb from the play store, and then another 1.3gb in-game download.
Blizzard pulls that crap all the time too with Hearthstone. I plug my phone in at night on wifi so it does all the updates while I sleep - only it doesn't anymore. A bunch of things have little updates from the play store and then you open the app and surprise! Big updates still need to be done...
Hype! It won't work on my Chromebook, so I'll just wait for the iPhone release tomorrow
Like expected, not available in my country (Dragalia Lost all over again)
In meantime Mario Kart Tour will come out in my country, talking about consistency Nintendo... (at least there is Pokémon GO)
sigh
Curse my addiction to Pokémon.
I downloaded it, expecting to be disappointed though but whatever, it's free.
@Kalmaro Where do you live? Is this a UK thing or something? :c
I keep checking the store and find nothing, the game basically doesn't exist for me.
@Joeynator3000 I could download it
@Joeynator3000 I'm in the US and got it on Android.
@StableInvadeel ....Ugh. Pokemon hates me.
...Timezones then? Only other thing I can think of...
Okay, it’s a gacha game. Seems a lot like pokemon meets dragalia lost in some ways.
Takes a lot of memory and a lot of battery
.......aaaaand it’s crashed already, says my connection isn’t good enough (it totally is)
...Still non-existent for me.
Connection errors for me too. Im on IOS
Well, at least it shows up on my iPad...apparently it doesn't like my phone.
@Joeynator3000 it seems to be incompatible to some phones. Mine is only a year old and for some reason it says its incompatible with my phone.
@tamantayoshi just finding this out...and my phone is very new too...apparently it only works on 64bit phones...?
I can't even tell what bit my phone is, looked everywhere and found nothing. Well whatever, my iPad is updating and the game is compatible there, so...eh.
Like I got my avatar and stuff set up, but before I could go further, error.
Well, no..., here in Mexico, in this moment, still Pokemon Masters no available...
edit: I was able to download it and play it, the problem was that my device is not compatible ..., oh well...,
but,
since I have another device, and that is compatible, he he, XD
So the combat system of the game is very reminiscent of FF13, which is such a novel approach for Pokemon that I am actually quite intrigued.
Of course, being a mobile game, I highly doubt the full potential will be realized, but if someone were to take this foundation and apply it to a full game on Switch as a side game to the core series, there may yet be hope for Pokemon. You know, a game that isn't the trainwreck that is Sword & Shield.
I think the connection errors was just for first few hours, I had them constantly and even had to restart the game. But after a bit it started going away completely.
I have a big feeling this game will be nothing but a huge cashgrab for The Pokémon Company.
I guess we had to wait til midnight. Everything is working now
I'm in Mexico and I could download it like 3 hours ago.
Been playing Record Keeper from DeNa for the last 4 years, just erased it a couple days ago when I got tired of several unfortunate relic pulls. I'm hoping this, being a Nintendo game is more fair with rates from its pulls, but I guess we'll see. So far a 10 sync pull is too expensive with only game currency.
Android here.
Sadly not yet
Looks like the connection errors have migrated from Go to Masters.
@Heavyarms55 lol. Then you have to wait that all updates ingame are done so you can play which may be over half hour... and in the mean time you lose interest en searchs for other game
Apperantly it won’t release in the netherlands and belgium due to the gambling laws :/
I was looking forward to this game.
@Dog It is, it has the typical mobile F2P cash grab garbage called "Gems store".
Thanks but no thanks. I´ll just wait for Pokemon Sword/Shield.
@darkswabber Be glad. Its a cash grab game with typical Gem store. Not worth taking up 1.3 GB of your phone storage.
@Jeronan I have experience with playing those games and I know how to make them enjoyable as a free to play gamer. I’ve enjoyed disney heroes battle mode for almost 8 months now and that can be cash grabby too.
And at minimum I would have liked to see for myself if I would have enjoyed the game. :/
I checked and found nothing? So where is it?
I'd be interested if Gold/Ethan was available in the game BUT I SAW THAT HE ISN'T!? Why are other protagonists in this game as well as a brand new pair, and my favourite is nowhere to be seen???
@darkswabber Can we thank Nintendolife for not bothering to ask Nintendo or DeNa about this beforehand?
It says "not available in your country" does anyone know why that is? I li in the Netherlands.
@The-Chosen-one it’s banned in the netherlands and belgium due to gambling laws.
@The-Chosen-one It won't be available there, ever, as the game's gacha mechanics violates the national gambling laws.
@darkswabber
Seriously? That sucks.
So anybody know the actual requirements for this game to run on an Android phone? The website / Google store say Android 5.0 but we have 3 Android phones 6.0 and/or higher none of which are compatible.
Really freaking stupid for companies to put out games w/o requirements. Can you imagine if a retailer sold a real videogame in a box on a store shelf but didn't tell you if the disc worked in PC, Xbox or PS4?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dena.a12026418&hl=en_US
Edit: Probably needs 2GM RAM and 64 bit. And Android 7.0, or 8.0. or 10.0 depending on the phone. Which should really be on the page, otherwise why bother having a page?
Why can't the big download be upfront? Feels like false hope like with dragalia lost. I wanna do other stuff rather than monitor it.
I don't know why but Pokemon on my android device causes kick the buddy mod apk to malfunction. Here's the one that I'm using: https://kickthebuddyapk.com
