Publisher Bromio and developer Navegante have revealed Greak: Memories of Azur will arrive on the Switch next year. The game is a side-scrolling single player game featuring traditional hand-drawn animation.
The player takes control of three siblings and must guide them through the lands of Azur. You'll be able to swap between characters at any moment and use their abilities to escape from the Urlag invasion. Here's the full rundown from the PR:
Greak is the name of the main character, and the smaller brother of three. He belongs to a magical race called the Courine, which is currently under the attack of an enemy invasion from a faction called the Urlag. This battle has been going on for a long time, and the Courine are starting to flee their own lands. Greak's goal is to reunite with his brother and sister and then escape the lands of Azur by building a zeppelin piece by piece. Through the game, you will find each sibling in different situations, and once you do, they will join the adventure and help you progress through the game.
Below is a new trailer to confirm the game will be arriving on the Switch in 2020:

Beautiful animation. My thing with modern platformers is the sprites are too small. But I understand it gives way to being more aware of your surroundings. It’s just weird thinking about playing it portable on a small screen when I see stuff like this. Controlling a dot.
This looks friggin great. That is all.
Noice
Very noice
It looks really pretty. Gameplay looks like it could be fun too.
these trailers are really annoying me, focus on the gameplay more will ya?!
The animation is definitely cute, the movement of the hero and general style remind me of Hollow Knight. Not enough gameplay here to say yay or nay, though.
Soooo, what's the gameplay hook? We get 20 games like this every week (almost literally), why should I bother with this one?
Looks absolutely stunning - a perfect fit for the Switch in all honesty. But I'm genuinely surprised there's no multiplayer. Three fully usable characters and instead two of them are either always following your every move or are just completely motionless. Its just wasted potential, really.
the animation cut scenes remind me of Hilda on Netflix
Looks interesting. Reminds me of Hollow knight.
