Two brand new Pokémon have been discovered by fans at E3 thanks to a playable demo of Pokémon Sword and Shield. The two Pokémon are known as Yamper and Impidimp.
Both Pokémon will be part of the Galar Pokédex alongside the three starter Pokémon - Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble - and all of the Pokémon revealed during the recent Direct. We've got images of both of them for you below.
As you can see, Yamper appears to resemble a corgi - which would make sense given the region's UK-inspired location - and Impidimp seems to be a mischievous imp. Serebii has managed to track down further details on both Pokémon:
Yamper
Type: Electric-type
Ability: Ball Fetch
Known Moves: Play Rough, Spark, Crunch, Wild Charge
Impidimp
Type: Dark/Fairy-type
Known Moves: Assurance, Sucker Punch, Play Rough
If you missed the news, the Nintendo Treehouse discussion for Pokémon Sword and Shield revealed that not all Pokémon from past generations can be transferred into the new games. As such, you'll want to get to know this new friendly bunch of 'mon for your next adventure.

You guys late on the news. And would be nice you add Ball Fetch abilities description in this post. And I'm neutral about those 2 new Pokémon.
Aww, so cu-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
BURN IT
@ReaderRagfish If the Pokémon is not holding an item it will fetch the Poké Ball from the first failed throw of the battle.
This is objectively the best pokemon ever designed.
Well I'm very excited to have a Corgi Pokémon, but the green and yellow is just freaking weird. And a lightning bolt tail is overdoing it. That was still part of my now-satisfied criteria for playing Sword/Shield, however lol
That's quite literally an imp
Glad we finally have an actual Imp pokemon. Always wanted one of those cute little devil tricksters.
Just need a fork and a pointy tail now (maybe its evolution will have?)
I like the new designs. Very distinctive, and based on interesting and recognizable creatures (both real and imagined).
Ok, who put Digimon in my Pokemon?
@SViper that’s actually a cool ability!
@Citano Is Sableye a joke to you!?
All kidding aside - I LOVE Impidimp. It's cute, awesome and has an amazing typing. I just hope it turns out to have better stats than Sableye (which is actually one of my favourite pokemon by the way) or an evolve form. Either way, I'm very happy.
@Citano
Is Sableye not based off an imp? I always thought it was for some reason.
Edit:
Ah, @ThatNyteDaez beat me to it haha
Well, if nothing else I'll at least be able to look forward to the new Pokémon. These two look pretty cool. Not enough to build my hype for this game back up though sadly. </3
Nice do I still get two surprises today
@g_ruz @ThatNyteDaez
Sableye is actually not an imp, but a goblin.
Specifically, the Hopskinville Goblin.

We all knew there was gonna be a corgi.
ah, The Puppy is very cute!!!
I shall call him Pikapup!
@RupeeClock beat me to it but he’s correct!
Even funnier that NL referred to Impidimp as a monkey and not an imp. Imp is literally in the name... TWICE!
I’m guessing this corgi is the “Pikachu clone”, given its electric typing and thunderbolt shaped tail. If so, glad to have one that’s not a rodent, heck I might use this little guy! I do wonder if he’ll evolve.
Nope. Need chihuahua Pokémon! 🐶
Good dog.
Ball fetch is a completely adorable but totally useless ability. There has to be more to it than bringing back the first Pokeball it breaks out of when you try to catch it. Otherwise it basically has no ability post-capture.
That dark/fairy is cool and perfect typing for an Imp-like Pokemon! If that thing evolves into something with remotely good stats, it's gonna be a real powerhouse! Immune to Dragon and Psychic! Potentially with STAB Moonblast and Dark Pulse?!
I think it's a Pomeranian. — Walter Sobchak
I'm pretty sure Impidimp is based on an imp, a common fantasy creature.
Yamper is clearly a fusion of Lillipup and Pikachu...I mean a Corgi.
The corgi has a terrible color scheme making it look a little weird. And the imp just looks downright stupid. For now I'll just stick with wooloo and corviknight.
@Heavyarms55 You missread ability, if you have him with that ability and try catch Pokémon with him, but you failed first ball he will bring back the ball if he not holding item. So this ability is useful whenever you fail capture a Pokémon with a first try.
Impidimp looks cool. Not sold on Yamper yet. But might feel differently once using it or if it has a decent evolution.
@SViper But what’s the point in later-game when you will be able to mass buy pokeballs? That ability sure might help early game but to be honest I hope Yamper will have a better alternate ability
@SViper Ohhh in that case, it is rather useful. And begs the question why any balls are wasted when you fail... I always rationalized being that a failed capture destroys the ball. If that's not the case then what stops the human trainer from just picking up the wasted balls after the battle?
#GameFreakLogic.
@StarViruZ I know that and hope he will get second ability too.
@Heavyarms55 True, their logic is pretty interesting.
Basically it will help you save a quick ball.
@SViper Interesting is one way to put it. I am still trying to understand their choice with not supporting all older Pokemon. Since I have been told that they already have all the models done. I thought maybe they might be planning on significant stat changes and didn't want to do so with all 800 Pokemon at once. But there is no evidence of that, just speculation.
When Wooloo was first revealed there was a leak about an electric Corgi Pokemon (with a rumoured minigame involving the two). Looks like that one was accurate.
Impidimp? are you sure that's not Freddie Freaker?
@ThatNyteDaez yeah forgot about that one, thought always found it to be too "nice" for an actual mean little demon imp.
