Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?

Switch_Pro

@johnvboy Absolutely, lots of stuff that I'm interested in, but nothing particularly high budget or incredibly exciting. It was primarily a lot of filler to hold us over until the next console, and I'm totally fine with that. Kinda interesting that even the most filler year of Switch is way more robust than the best year of most previous Nintendo consoles.

Re: Detective Pikachu Returns At Last This October On Switch

I liked the first Detective Pikachu, I am a big fan of point and click adventure games and it was very much in that vibe, definitely scratched the itch. However, Detective Pikachu was one of the best looking 3DS games and this sequel looks like a 3DS game on a higher resolution, makes me think it was a 3DS game that was cancelled and revived on Switch. Still glad we are getting it, I'm interested.

Re: Super Mario RPG Is Getting A Remake This November, And It Looks Amazing

@PlasmaticSnake As opposed to the original that is very mature? I mean, sure, this is more colourful but it's mainly because the SNES had a very limited colour palette. The original uses captured pre-rendered sprites similar to Donkey Kong, it is not pixel art. I don't see why anyone would ever prefer it over this which is rendered at runtime and is incredibly faithful, but to each their own I guess.

Re: Best Harvest Moon / Story Of Seasons Games Of All Time

Switch_Pro

First off, the newer Harvest Moon games which only have the title but are not part of the Bokujou Monogatari series do NOT belong on this list. Secondly, the ratings are sus, Harvest Moon GB is a 10/10 game for that platform, less than a 7/10 is laughable. Can't help but feel the people that voted are not farming game fans, therefore the ranking is worthless.

Re: Soapbox: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom's Busier Hyrule Is Making Me Miss BOTW

@YoshiF2 Eh, people say that about any number of things. I don't think it's true at all that Breath of the Wild is obsolete because of Tears of the Kingdom. It has its own more relaxed vibe and different toolset for Link which some people are bound to prefer. However, for me the issue with both of the games is that they are way too long, so I don't see myself playing them again like I do with other Zeldas.

Re: Soapbox: How Zelda's Bad Economy Made Weapon Degradation Great Again

Actually most Zelda games are well balanced when it comes to the rupees you come across in the majority of the game. The wallet size is there as an additional quality of life reward and also prevents you from spending too many rupees in the early game on a single thing. Keeping in mind you can technically always farm more rupees if you really want to but it's really tedious and not really supposed to do that. Late-game, yeah they are kind of a non issue, and there isn't really enough stuff to spend them on, which is why they added the rupee draining armor and other rupee-sinks, as their end-game usefulness is limited. Most games have this "issue", really, if you find most/all of the treasures, you end up with too much money, that's just natural, as the game is not really balanced around finding every single thing, that would be a big ask for the average player.
