@CharlieGirl Sure, I don't disagree with that — I do disagree with people advocating to pirate software that IS in fact readily available because "company bad" though.
@Wiiiiiiiiiii Um, no, the more acquisitions Microsoft performs, the more difficult it will be for them to acquire more companies down the line. If they hadn't bought Bethesda, Rare and several other companies, this would go through much easier.
@CharlieGirl Nonsense. They are not against having their back catalog available, it just takes time and resources and there is only a finite amount of those. If they could make all those games appear out of thin air, they would. Many games on this article are not really playable as intended without original or additional hardware.
This controller is an absolute must have if you are planning to play N64 on NSO. People talking crap about it have likely never played N64 at length. Playing N64 games with any other controller is an incredibly suboptimal experience.
I don't see the appeal changing anything at this stage. They don't have enough time to construct a convincing argument in a couple days when they had so long and failed.
I enjoyed Tears or the Kingdom but it certainly isn't Zelda at its best. It's barely recognisable Zelda. It's entirely it's own thing. And that's okay, but it cannot replace traditional Zelda.
@HalBailman It might be good enough for you, but it would most likely not be good enough for Nintendo is my point. They wouldn't want to just appease current fans, the majority of buyers would be people that have never bought an F-Zero game before. I still think a remaster of GX would be the best first step, in fact I am confident that this will happen.
Started playing RainCode. It has some jank to it, unsurprisingly, but it also has some occasionally great visual compositions which I wasn't expecting. The main negative is the loading screens, but otherwise very happy with the game.
@HalBailman You misunderstood my post. I am saying games like Fast Racing Neo are not as good/high budget as F Zero would have to be to be a viable product. What is viable or even a great success for an indie studio wouldn't even be a blip in the radar for Nintendo.
@HalBailman Those games are not up to the standard Nintendo would want for a new F Zero. But that is not even the issue, the issue is that Nintendo simply does not have any resources to spare on F Zero. It isn't like they have a studio coasting about that could work on it. All of their studios are busy on projects they consider a better investment.
@Axecon Why would they go out of their way to inform former staff of the original release about the remake if they are not going to be involved at all? Even tracking some of them down might be tricky. It doesn't make any sense to do so.
Exclusives are what give any given system value. If exclusives were gone, the company with the most money would automatically muscle out every other business because they could be very aggressive with the pricing, selling well below cost to increase their initial install base and would then coast to a monopoly. Companies like Nintendo that mainly profit from selling games and consoles would be unable to compete.
@Ralizah The second AI is superior, perhaps slightly less mind bending plot, but still very strong in that area. Other than that, everything else about it is better, including Somnia. If you have even a passing interest in VNs (which I can tell you do), it's pretty much mandatory to play it.
@MannequinRaces I don't agree, one playthrough by a reviewer is not enough to determine the length for the average gamer. That said, it would be useful information to at least mention how long it took the reviewer to beat it.
It is genuinely a 10/10 game. I have made a habit of replaying it every couple years and I'm happy to play it on something other than my 3DS this year.
Unreal Engine offers great scalability, most games simply don't use all the available tools to them because it is too much work or they lack the expertise. I bet they will deliver with this one, this team has vast experience porting PS4 games on Switch.
I already thought Cuphead could be better gameplay wise given how gorgeous the art style is. It's kinda disappointing that the best they could come up with was a simplistic action platformer. Not that it's bad, but it could be so much more. With that in mind, it's quite baffling that this has to follow the exact same formula. The animation looks good, but there is so much more you can do with a side scroller than copying Cuphead. Very uninspired, a real shame.
@Kiliomp A lot of prior Fire Emblem fans were complaining about Awakening having too much character interaction, I think Engage has a good balance. I would prefer if it had a smaller cast of characters though.
@HotGoomba Elemental is a big financial flop, it is not good news for Pixar and Disney. Hopefully they will be able to steer the ship back on track because they seem to be out of touch with the audience. So I don't know if I would call the outlook so great given that literally the biggest animation studio out there is struggling. The good news is that if there's a vacuum, others will fill it, like Mario, and perhaps this was a much needed shakeup.
The FTC is completely out of touch with reality. When people are looking to buy a console, of course they will weigh all the available options. The Switch does not have to offer the exact same games as the other consoles to be a competitor.
The only real way to experience modern Fire Emblem properly is Hard / Classic anyway. Easier settings literally make the game worse for the player. Fire Emblem without stakes would be a snoozefest.
Seems like an obnoxious person and question, and I am glad Furukawa did not take them seriously. There's a time and place for everything, and this type of comment is better suited on Reddit, not an investor meeting.
In my opinion, the complaints about it not being on par with Metroid Prime are nonsensical. You cannot compare it with a project that was under development for years. Nintendo does not exactly have a million studios to work on every single remaster to the same extent, they have to prioritize certain project. You would never get a full on Pikmin with from the ground up visuals right now. It's either this, or nothing. If you prefer nothing, you are selfish, because for most people this is the most accessible way to play two great games.
This is criminal and cringe. Automatically turned this from "must buy" to "no thanks". Why even release a physical version if you need to download the majority of the content? I would understand for the video content which is 30GB (and I will probably never watch) but the games could have easily been on cart. Get a grip please, Konami.
I love it! Will import if it doesn't get localized. An absolute shame they couldn't get the actual Goemon license though, it would really elevate it to the next level. It looks incredibly similar.
@Banjo- If I had to place a bet, I would say there is absolutely no chance in hell it won't be backwards compatible. In fact, I fully expect it to be named Switch too, but a different variation on that name. New Switch, Switch 2, WonderSwitch, Double Switch, whatever. I could see MP4 being cross-generation unless it is still years away. Nintendo won't want to put all their eggs on the successor so the original Switch will continue being supported for the foreseeable future, even if it gets lesser versions of the games.
Do not preorder from GAME. They are taking the piss at £55 a pop including shipping when this is in fact a lower price tier release. Clearly taking advantage of their monopoly in UK as it's a GAME exclusive. Order it from CoolShop at a very reasonable £37.50.

Re: Japanese Charts: Zelda: TOTK And Final Fantasy XVI Battle For Supremacy
FF XVI is probably the best game I've ever played which at that same time is a massive misstep and disappointment for its series.

Looks better than expected for (post-split) Harvest Moon.

Re: Arzette Is A "Spiritual Successor" To The Infamous Zelda CD-i Games And It's Coming To Switch In 2023
They really nailed the cutscenes. Way better quality than the originals of course, but the style is spot on.
Re: PlayStation Exclusive Platformer Tomba! Is Getting A Nintendo Switch Release
This is hype, very underappreciated game.

Tie-in? Surely you mean pack-in? I don't understand what tie-in could refer to in this context.
Re: Nintendo "Currently Have No Specifics To Share" About Other Legacy Platforms For Switch Online
Gamecube games still hold up pretty well when remastered so it's understandable that they wouldn't want to offer them via emulation.
Re: Poll: What's Your Game Of The Year Of 2023 So Far?
Tears of the Kingdom so far, however, I expect it to be beaten by Pikmin 4 or most likely Starfield if it's as good as it looks.
