Re: Wireless NES Controllers Won't Work With Other Games On Nintendo Switch

SuperWeird

I swore this gen I would not buy any extra unnecessary controllers for my Switch. I have my Pro Controller and custom d-pad Joycons and can play 1-2 players easily, that's it that's all I need for this entire gen,

For Wii U I ended up with 50 million controllers; a whole box full of them. It was cool to be able to play games in so many days different ways, but it was just way too much stuff for one console. When I sold my Wii U I was thankful to get rid of all that crap.

I'm not doing that again. The Pro Controller is good enough for everything, even Smash.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 15th)

SuperWeird

These polls have become completely useless lately. It used to be: what are we playing? with a list recent releases to chose from.

Now it's: are you playing the same random games from any era as the NL staff writers?

Who gives a flip what the staff writers are playing and why should it matter if we're playing the same? What is the point of this data? Might as well throw Pong in there too... maybe one of us is playing it.

Pointless.

Re: Broforce - Infectious Low-Brow Blasting Fun With Your Favourite Movie Heroes

SuperWeird

@whanvee The online component is one of the best parts of the game and it works great. 1-4 players, drop in out whenever you want, or create private lobbies; progress is saved for all players. It's a seamless experience geared toward smooth online play.

I think it's easier to play with 2 players rather than 3 or 4, because it gets really crazy with 4, but it works regardless and is a blast to play online.

Re: Broforce - Infectious Low-Brow Blasting Fun With Your Favourite Movie Heroes

SuperWeird

This game is awesome. Been playing the crap out of it since it was released. If you like run n' gun shooters like Contra or Metal Slug then you gotta check out Broforce.

The destroyable environment and platforms make for a great gameplay twist too. It's got a Dig Dug aspect to it, as you constantly fall through structures, avoid falling obstacles, explosions and gunfire, and forge new pathways to victory, all while blowing the living hell out of everything in site. The drop-in-out online multiplayer works great. It's fantastic action and lots of fun.

I disagree with the reviewer saying this game is only good in short bursts. I've been putting in 2-4 hour sessions at a time and it's glorious.

Broforce is dope, bros!

Re: Opinion: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?

SuperWeird

It was really good. Luigi's Mansion 3 was a great way to start. Looking forward to many of these titles.

Was hoping they would drop a surprise bomb though, like Read Dead Redemption Switch port or GTA V or something massive and 3rd party. But whatever it was still excellent.

Re: Yoshi’s Crafted World Is Coming To The Switch In Spring 2019

SuperWeird

Needs online multiplayer.

This is 2018. Switch Online. Get it together already.

I'm still buying it, but my 2 family members who I play online with will definitely pass without online gameplay. Every time Nintendo releases a multiplayer game without online they loses 2 sales from my family. Every time.

Re: Sony Interactive Entertainment Asia President Says Switch Has Had A "Positive Influence" On Games Market

SuperWeird

If Sony made another portable I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. After the way they 100% dropped support for the Vita half way through its life, and relied on 3rd parties to support their system every since, I would not trust them at all with a new handheld. Unlike Nintendo, who supports their products until the dying end, Sony will completely abandon their own products the moment they fail to meet profit predictions, regardless of how it affects their customers. Screw that. Sony would have to show me years and years of dedicated AAA support for a handheld before I would even acknowledge another portable system from them.

Re: Feature: The Bloodthirsty History Of Monster Hunter, From PlayStation To Switch

SuperWeird

@JaxonH Yeah thanks for the feedback. I actually pre-ordered Generations Ultimate, it's been siting on my Switch desktop for over a month. I started playing it already, just finished my first hunt this week. It's definitely a step backwards for me compared to World, but I'm gonna give it a fair shot and put as much time as I can into it. I am pretty stoked to have an HD portable version of MH.

Re: Feature: The Bloodthirsty History Of Monster Hunter, From PlayStation To Switch

SuperWeird

I've put in 500 hours so far into World, and counting. It's the best game I've ever played.

I've tried several previous MH games, but World is the first one that really clicked with me. Even so, it took me 250 hours into the game before I truly grasped how to play it and all it's many features. I wouldn't call that hand-holding, even if it is easier to understand than past entries. It's definitely a commitment, but the payoff is so satisfying, there's nothing else like it.

I honestly believe it's worth buying a One X (or whatever console you prefer) just to play World. It's that good.

Re: Review: Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate (Switch)

SuperWeird

It’s gonna be hard to get into this game after World. Especially considering I’m a master bowsman in World, while the bow and arrow controls in Generations are a massive pre-historic step backwards. I pre-ordered the game anyways; looking forward to Monster Hunter on Switch; I just don’t expect it to be anywhere near as amazing as World.

Re: Review: Night Trap - 25th Anniversary Edition (Switch eShop)

SuperWeird

This is as good as it gets for Night Trap. A true deluxe edition. If you were ever a fan of this super cheesy Sega CD game, it's definitely worth picking up for the Switch. It's worth it just for the documentaries, they're great. I'm actually going to try to beat this game for the first time ever. It's so bad it's good.

Re: Nintendo Posts Job Listings For Switch User Interface Engineers

SuperWeird

Damnit they don't already have someone working on this? What kind of a multi-billion dollar company is this? I was really hoping they'd roll out a new UI with paid online. At this rate it's gonna be 10 years before we get FOLDERS!!! I swear I'm going to throw my Switch in the trash if we don't get folders soon. Not really... but come one!

Re: Nintendo Download: 9th August (North America)

SuperWeird

What's the point if these articles if they're not accurate? We're better off just going to the eshop. Maybe you guys should stop relying solely on the official press release and actually look at the eshop listings before publishing these articles. Every week you list stuff that's not out until next week, or already came out the week before. Useless.

Re: Pre-Orders Are Live For This Fully-Playable 1/4 Scale Pac-Man Arcade Cabinet

SuperWeird

There's so many of these smaller arcade cabinets being released all of a sudden - I absolutely love it! Tiny Arcade, MyArcade, New Wave Toys, Arcade1Up, NeoGeo, and now Numskull are all making various mini arcade machines. I'm particularly excited about Arcade1Up's forthcoming 3/4 scales cabinets, those look so dope.

It's only a matter of time before the Switch gets a true arcade cabinet that you can slide the screen into, with actual joysticks and Bluetooth connectivity - al la iPad with iCade. I'll be all over that when it releases.
