@nab1 I used to own the Wii collection and thought it was going to be my definitive collection, and would never need to buy it again. Until I tried the Hamster versions, then I immediately realized how bad they were by comparison. I sold the Wii collection soon after. It’s worth the upgrade.
@BionicDodo You obviously haven’t played the Wii versions and compared them to the recent versions from the likes of Hamster. The difference is immediately noticeable.
@BulbasaurusRex That version is 420p resolution, low-res Wii graphics; it’s ugly and dated. This new collection will be in HD with crisp graphics for modern TVs. If you’re a fan of the series it’s noticeably worth the upgrade.
@Razer I unlocked all 17 of the characters first by replaying some of the beginning stages, then I played through the whole game on normal, hard, hardest and am now working through mania. Each difficulty adds more enemies on screen, bosses double up etc, it becomes a full-on street brawl at the hardest settings, which is just awesome. I’ve played through it entirely with retro graphics and again with modern graphics. I’ve spent a bunch of time in Battle mode, which is a pretty legit fighting game in its own right. I’ve also made a couple attempts at Arcade mode. And since performance is graded for each stage, I find myself going back to stages to try to earn a higher grade, which has me jumping into other people’s sessions. And finally, I have a story I’m working on playing through online with my brother, whenever he has time.
As much as I’ve re-played the original SOR trilogy over the years, SOR4 is even better, and it’s the kind of game I will play through many times. It’s just a real joy to play.
Although I will say 80 hours is a lot for me. That’s more time than I put into most games, including some of my favorites. Time just flew by with this one.
I’m 100% down for Streets of Rage 4 DLC. After putting over 80 hours into the new game so far, I’d be happy to pay for more content. I’ve said it a few times, but this is Game of the Year for me.
@WrongChops You're going to have to just get over it. This is the digital age, all games will be like this going forward. Buying physical games is pointless, unless you're planning to resell it, you're always buying an incomplete package. And you can't expect the rest of us to be held back from enjoying more gaming because you are stuck in the past.
I noticed it right away, and it’s awesome they included it. One of the many reasons this is game of the year.
However, in typical Nintendo style it’s still more cumbersome than any other console, requiring you to completely reboot the game with every new invite. I’m glad it works but what the hell? Such a Luddite move.
@SalvorHardin The more I listen to the new music the more I like it. I was playing with the classic tracks at first too, but the new music is really growing on me.
This is beyond the technical scope of Nintendo’s abilities, they will have no idea how to fix this. Online gameplay is like an alien language to them they cannot comprehend.
I bought the VR kit and threw it away (left it on the street) a few months later, without ever even opening it. The longer I owned it the more it seemed like too much work to even bother with. If Nintendo wants me to assemble their products, they need to pay me an hourly wage. I'm not a slave.
I’ve been playing Pirate’s Curse for the past 2 weeks and have been thinking it would be awesome to get a line of action figures around her. I hate Funko Pops though, really wish she was getting a proper release from the likes of Figma, SH Fiiguarts, Super 7, Mezco or any of the good ones. Still this is one of the best Pops I’ve seen.
The bigger problem is that you can’t play online with friends - only strangers.
I can’t belive no one’s mentioned this. We’re not all a bunch of 8 year olds playing games on the couch with our friends, some of us are adults with friends and family hundreds of miles apart. And especially with the current quarantines in place, it’s even more important to play online with friends.

Re: Have You Spotted The Switch eShop's New Sales Filter?
Did they fix the problem where the discounted games list slows to a crawl as soon as you start scrolling down?
Did they make it so your wishlist items delete after you purchase them, instead of having to manually remove them after each purchase?
Did they add folders?
Basic functionality would be a nice update to see someday.

Re: 2K Says It's Eager To Release More Games On The Nintendo Switch
Isn’t this the same company that released that steaming pile of crap known as WWE 2K18?
Never forget and never again.
This company would need to pay me to play one of their crappy games again.

They blab this same nonsense every year. Prove it already.

I just realized you can probably play Wild Guns online with 2-player co-op. Holy crap that is awesome!
Re: Nintendo Expands The Switch Online SNES And NES Service With Four More Titles
Wild Guns is solid. That's a good addition to the SNES library.

Yes!! Bring it on! I would probably buy any and all DLC for this game.
This game is so great I’d gladly pay for more of it.

Re: Streets Of Rage 4 Gets Another Physical Release, This Time With A Signature Edition
Easily the best Streets of Rage ever made, outclassing even the gold standard in SOR2.
