Re: Mario Kart 8 Is Now The Second Best-Selling Racing Game Of All Time In The US

I’m expecting MK9 to be the launch title for Switch Pro/2.

MK8D will be the only MK for current Switch. It will be an unorthodox move by Nintendo, not releasing a new MK for the current console, but this is a new Nintendo with new leadership. And with MK8 still selling so well, they could easily ride it out until the release of the next gen Switch. MK9 would be a perfect launch title.

The Switch Light will launch in 2019. It will be smaller overall with a 5" screen, and the controls will be built in and not detachable. It will retail for $199.

Joy Cons and Pro controllers will be fully compatible via Bluetooth. Sold separately.

A new Mini Dock will be available to connect your Switch Light to a TV. The mini dock will be very small, meant for portability. It will be sold separately for $65.

The Switch Pro will be released in 2020. It will be an iterative upgrade, like a new iPhone. It will go head to head with the PS5 and Xbox Scarlet. It will retail for $399.

Re: Feature: Digital vs Physical - What Is Your Preference for Nintendo Switch?

SuperWeird

I feel bad for anyone who's still clinging onto physical carts. Your games are always incomplete and will be useless in 10 years from now, missing all of the day one patches and DLC, and in many cases missing most of the game too. Combined with your constant delays for pre-order arrivals, need to switch carts for every game, something else to carry, etc. You people are living in the Stone Age.

Re: Nintendo Will Be Taken To Court Over Its "Illegal" eShop Pre-Ordering System

I personally love digital pre-orders. I can download the game and its icon now to my Switch desktop, and it sits there among my other games as if I already have it. It would be like pre-ordering a physical game, then your copy arrives, and you can admire the box among all your other games, you just can't play it until release date. I digitally preordered ToeJam and Earl last night; it's now loaded onto my Switch along with the rest of my game collection, sitting there waiting to play. It's glorious!

Re: Video: Here's The Only Technical Analysis Of Smash Bros. Ultimate You'll Need

SuperWeird

Donkey Kong's fur and the terrible 320p or whatever resolution of the Mii Fighters were the first things I noticed. They both look atrocious. Kong looks like he stepped out of an N64 game and the Mii fighters look like a fuzzy pixelated blurry mess. Amazed Nintendo would released their biggest game of the the year with such crappy graphics. Makes the whole game seem unpolished.

But the thing I'm really bummed about is that they removed the ability to play online with a CPU partner in private matches. Now they've added Squad Strike which is better but you can't play it online, which is worse. The whole online gameplay of Ultimate has been downgraded from Smash Wii U and is missing several online gameplay options.

This game is Smash for Switch and it's good, but it's hardly Ultimate by any stretch of the imagination.

Re: Review: Horizon Chase Turbo - A Worthy Successor To Sega's Out Run

I'm stoked about this game and already preordered it, but no online multiplayer is a huge missed opportunity. I have 2 family members that would have gladly bought this game and played it with me, but without online multiplayer they won't even bother. I'll still enjoy it, but it's 2018, online should be standard for multiplayer games.
