Re: Marvel Comic Book Legend Stan Lee Has Passed Away At 95 Years Of Age

SuperWeird

It was Stan Lee and his direct communication with the fans that gave Marvel that certain magic that DC comics never quite captured. Fan of both, but Stan made Marvel special.

Daredevil was always my favorite comic, way back before anyone knew who he was. Stan's other big titles Fantastic Four, X-Men, Spider-Man, Avengers, Black Panther, Hulk and so on made him a legend.

He will be missed.

Re: Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn Is Actually Compatible With All 3DS Systems

@Heavyarms55 "The New 3DS ended up being almost as pointless a revision as the DSi."

I disagree entirely; the New 3DS smokes the old 3DS, and any serious fan upgraded. The super stable stereoscopic is worth it alone, you can play all games in 3D comfortably now. And the right nub stick and extra shoulder buttons are invaluable for tons of games. Combined with the faster processor, and more stable famerates, the New 3DS outclasses the old in every way.

Re: Nintendo Keeps Switch Online Cloud Saves For 180 Days After Membership Expiry

SuperWeird

That's more than generous. 6 months.

On a side note can I just say how much I abhor IGN? What an absolutely terrible mess of a web site; the advertisements are just overwhelming, and the layout of the web site is an utter mess. Whenever I occasionally visit I try to exit it as fast as possible. No idea why IGN is regarded so highly or why anyone uses their site, it's horrible.

Re: Wireless NES Controllers Won't Work With Other Games On Nintendo Switch

SuperWeird

I swore this gen I would not buy any extra unnecessary controllers for my Switch. I have my Pro Controller and custom d-pad Joycons and can play 1-2 players easily, that's it that's all I need for this entire gen,

For Wii U I ended up with 50 million controllers; a whole box full of them. It was cool to be able to play games in so many days different ways, but it was just way too much stuff for one console. When I sold my Wii U I was thankful to get rid of all that crap.

I'm not doing that again. The Pro Controller is good enough for everything, even Smash.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 15th)

SuperWeird

These polls have become completely useless lately. It used to be: what are we playing? with a list recent releases to chose from.

Now it's: are you playing the same random games from any era as the NL staff writers?

Who gives a flip what the staff writers are playing and why should it matter if we're playing the same? What is the point of this data? Might as well throw Pong in there too... maybe one of us is playing it.

Pointless.

Re: Broforce - Infectious Low-Brow Blasting Fun With Your Favourite Movie Heroes

SuperWeird

@whanvee The online component is one of the best parts of the game and it works great. 1-4 players, drop in out whenever you want, or create private lobbies; progress is saved for all players. It's a seamless experience geared toward smooth online play.

I think it's easier to play with 2 players rather than 3 or 4, because it gets really crazy with 4, but it works regardless and is a blast to play online.

Re: Broforce - Infectious Low-Brow Blasting Fun With Your Favourite Movie Heroes

This game is awesome. Been playing the crap out of it since it was released. If you like run n' gun shooters like Contra or Metal Slug then you gotta check out Broforce.

The destroyable environment and platforms make for a great gameplay twist too. It's got a Dig Dug aspect to it, as you constantly fall through structures, avoid falling obstacles, explosions and gunfire, and forge new pathways to victory, all while blowing the living hell out of everything in site. The drop-in-out online multiplayer works great. It's fantastic action and lots of fun.

I disagree with the reviewer saying this game is only good in short bursts. I've been putting in 2-4 hour sessions at a time and it's glorious.

Broforce is dope, bros!

Re: Opinion: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?

SuperWeird

It was really good. Luigi's Mansion 3 was a great way to start. Looking forward to many of these titles.

Was hoping they would drop a surprise bomb though, like Read Dead Redemption Switch port or GTA V or something massive and 3rd party. But whatever it was still excellent.
