I'll be busy with Prison Architect this weekend.
Victor Vran for me. Loved it on pc and never bought the dlc so can't wait!
Going to give Morphie’s Law a go. Thought about getting Monster Hunter but after trying the demo I changed my mind. First time ever playing the series so maybe I’m just too late to join the party.
Jesus Christ, remember when the WiiU/3DS eShops had like 3 new games each time?
Monster Bunter for sure! Already bought and Brennan waiting to play.
All my fundage is tied up in buying a house. Other than my pre-order for Megaman 11 I am not getting any new games for a good while :-/ But at least I'll be able to play new games in my own space so that's cool.
@fchinaski I imagine he remembers most things. Also, good call talking to him directly in the NL comment section. After 2000 years it must be so boring for him to hear all those messages coming from churches week after week.
I YouTubed a Night Trap playthrough... which was enough for me.
23 new games but nothing really standing out for me.Victor Vran I was interested in until I seen the price and now with Diablo 3 on the way, I think I'll just wait for that. Blade Strangers possibly but it would take a 9/10 to convince me. I'm not a huge 1v1 fighting fan and I've already got 6 others in my collection. Prison Architect is interesting but I'm not sure I'd actually play it. I've already got Escapists 2 and while a different style of game it looks incredibly similar.
I'm actually happy there's nothing tempting me. I'm knee deep in Dead Cells, Okami and Octapath. I've got Guns, Gore and Canolli 2 to play and I've got The Messenger already preloaded.
Behind The Screen looks very interesting. Plus I love Taiwan
Dragon Cafe looks like tons of fun. Definitely on my radar.
Little Dragons Cafe has caught me on the hop - didn't realise it was out this soon. Need to see a review! It's another heavy week of releases, but they're going to have to settle for being on my watchlist. There is too much to play.
$30 for DeBlob 2? I mean, it's an "okay" game, but for $30? If you go on ebay, you can get a physical copy of it for $5! Thanks, but no thanks. There are far better options for Switch.
Sadly, nothing leaps out at me this week. Plus I'm saving my money for Yakuza Kiwami 2 for my PS4. The Switch will have to take a week or so off!
More Octopath for me. Little Dragons Cafe sounds fun...but I can't justify $60 on that. Will buy on a discount
So much more exciting stuff coming to PS4 over the next weeks, through the end of the year. Not sure I'll buy another Switch game until VC4 releases
Since Real Bout Fatal Fury was last week, does anybody know what Neo Geo game comes out this week?
Victor Vran finally! I can't wait since I've heard from it!
Nothing for me, but I'm planning on getting The Messenger, Curse of the Moon, and Okami next week.
It's all about MHGU for me. Just in time as World's beauty is no longer disguising the fact that I have exhausted all the content.
Will Prison Architect let you drop the soap?
I hope Blade Strangers is good. It certainly looks cool!
@Giygas_95 The Messenger is gonna be so awesome, but why are you waiting on Okami? You can get that right now!
Edit: the same goes for Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon! You probably know this... haha.
So many games I want to play but I can’t justify buying them all... Monster hunter is so good. Deagons cafe looks nice, bad north seems cool, prison architect, morphies law. Omg, and I already have 5-6 games unopened on my switch...
@imgrowinglegs For Okami, money. I've been spending too much lately so I thought I'd wait a little longer. Also I probably shouldn't buy it seeing as my backlog is massive. For Curse of the Moon, I figured I'd wait and get it with The Messenger because it'd be cool to get a Castlevania throwback and a Ninja Gaiden throwback at the same time. Both games look amazing. Not completely sold on Okami yet, but I remember remarking on Miiverse while playing Twilight Princess that I wouldn't mind a game played fully as Wolf Link. Well...Okami is that game.
Stuff from last week and next week on this list... yet you missed games from THIS week, like All-Star Fruit Racing.
Aww I forgot about blade strangers. I gotta get that, didn't expect LDC to be full price...will wait for reviews.
Aside from The Messenger and Night Trap, I'm taking a Shenmue-related break from the Switch. I'll be back when Dark Souls Remaster arrives.
Little Dragon's Cafe for me, though I'm picking up the LE retail copy. :3 I'll check out a couple of other things.
Hmm, I'm saving my money for the Switch's Online Service next month, so nothing of interest for me on this list.
None of these games for me but im gonna grab octopath this week 😀
Generations Ultimate is a big fat MAYBE, and if I do it won't be anytime soon. lol
A good week! I had no idea de blob 2 was coming I never got to play that one. That on top of night trap and monster Hunter is almost too much!!
Nothing for me this week as there is just too much happening in my life to have much time to game anymore. Okami will be my next purchase, but only when things settle down a bit this fall (and I finally splurge on a huge SD card).
Meh... just playing my Free PS+ copy of Mafia 3 and run around Hollow Knight till September.
Shining was OK, but my next purchase needs to be a big game. Sick of playing silly stuff.
In all honesty Monster Hunter GU would have done a LOT better had it just been released on the 3DS and not ported to the Switch. Would have saved Capcom development costs on an impending flop.
Nothing for me
@Supadav03 Same thing with MH. Thank god there was a demo.
I’ve had Monster Hunter pre-loaded for about a month and I downloaded Bad North yesterday.
I'll be downloading the demo for Earthworms, the video looks neat. And if I enjoy it, I think I have just enough eShop funds to grab it. That will probably be the only thing this week, fixing the truck robbed some of my fun money
Not that we all don't already have horrible back logs, though. I can honestly say that there's at least one game each week that piques my interest. Sometimes I put them on my wishlist just to watch for sales.
So, full price for Little Dragon's Cafe, huh?
I'm definitely ok with paying for quality, but that means it'll depend on reviews. I'd be much more willing to dive in day one if it cost less.
im surprised the votes arent higher for Blade Strangers.. stoked its FINALLY coming out
Blade Strangers looks great! Why aren’t more people excited about it?
@Razer I don't know about that??? I preordered the game the second it's release date was solidified. It appears that there a decent amount of people on this site alone that are also excited for the series to finally arrive on the Switch outside of Japan. I can't wait to play it on the go on my Switch but with the bonus option of playing on my living room TV. It may sound crazy but I will place Zelda back on the backburner again, while I prioritize my time to play Monster Hunter.
Nothing new this week but I've just recently thinned out the wishlist with 2064 and Hollow Knight. Awesome pair of games.
@dkxcalibur oh come on bro even die hard mh fans know the flop is coming. I use to think clayfighter on the n64 was good too. Didn't stop the flop though.
I mean you only need to look at every single comments section on all the demo reviews for this game to realize the flop is coming and its coming hard. Its all "not going back after mhw" and "the graphics are terrible, this is an over priced 3ds port".
I'd like the game to not flop too but that just doesn't seem likely... Its a lazy upscaled 3ds port from the same company that has announced nothing for the Switch and has only bought us ports of other games that are 15+ years old and has the audacity to call it "a test"
It's a pritty big slap in the face for Nintendo fans who supported their games for so long on the 3ds.
@Agramonte I started listening to, I mean playing, Mafia 3 last night. 😉 Would have started on Tuesday but that 60GB download, which must be half music, made me wait until last night. So far so good, I only just swam to the Haitians dock, but it has the most interesting presentation I've ever played. And without a doubt the best ever soundtrack.
It's a shame Generations Ultimate took so long to come stateside. I'd normally be really excited for it but I've got my eyes set on Monster Hunter World for PC instead.
@Razer I never said I wouldn't have preferred brand new content designed specifically for the Switch. Of course I would. I'm also very aware of what we're getting.....and I'm okay with it! I still have my 3DS, but I don't want to play it anymore. I want my games on the go, playable on the Switch. I'm hoping this is it for ported Monster Hunter games. I hope the next one is built from the ground up for the Switch; and I think we'll get that eventually....but in the meantime, I'm okay playing this game. I don't think it's going to sell like World did on the PS4/Xbox but I don't think it's going to flop either, especially flop hard.
I might be getting a Switch for MH soon.
Loved Ace Combat so Sky Gamblers looks real appealing to me. Hopefully they do the expansion to it also. I've really splurged this month on indie titles though. Picked up the physical versions of Yokus Island, Brawlout, Sonic Mania Plus, and Dead Cells.
Night Trap for sure and already pre paid!
There goes NintendoLife again; posting games that were released last Thursday! Also wonder how many games from this week they missed.
@Kilroy oh yeah please show me where to buy Monster Hunter GU?
Must already be available right?
@rjejr Funny you would mention "Music and Presentation". I had no real intention of playing it. I never played a "Mafia" game and was just curious (also FREE)
But after the Vietnam / Priest monologue intro And the soundtrack driving around the armor truck... I found myself playing till 2:30 AM.
😅
I have till September 4th and Dragon Quest XI to figure out what is going on.
Ouch. Bad North, Poker, MHGU, Victor Vran, Morphies, and Western 1849 (Been dying for a light gun style game on Switch! It begins!). My wallet hurts.
@rjejr Also, Mafia 3 Soundtrack and "The Sounds of New Bordeaux"
are on Spotify. Been listening at work. 😊

@OorWullie What's wrong with the price on Victor Vran. It's the same price as on ps4, Xb1, and Steam.
@Razer I know, right? At this point, after suggesting what they do several times and tagging the authors while doing so, they should be able to figure out a solution, considering I'm just one person and I've got a very reasonable solution in my head that can work immediately.
This site severely misses Thomas Whitehead.
@Agramonte All the same. Waiting on DQXI - got it on Amazon for $24 after trading in Ni No Kuni 2 for $27 and Prime discount - and playing just b/c I got it on PS+ but haven't played the previous two games. Not sure how long I'll go, numerous reviews said ti gets repetitive, but I'll at least play for awhile.
I'm a Pandora guy though, not Spotify. My "Doobie Brothers Radio" station plays pretty much what's in this game.
Last weeks downloads today
@OorWullie I'm in exactly the same boat. Okami and Dead Cells, with a side of DQ Builders and XC2. I really need a few weeks without any good releases, or I may never catch up.
This will be my 1st time trying monster hunter and really looking forward to it.
Hollow Knight on sale for $9.90
Monopoly - $15.99
The Flame in the Flood - $7.49
@sleepinglion In most cases I prefer actually playing the game to watching it, but in this case, watching it IS the game.
Bought Hollow Knight on sale. Can't wait to play it!
Lot's of releases this week, but for me, nothing much. Monster Hunter is tempting though.
@Donald_M Completely agree. I prefer playthroughs. But many CD titles of that era were short films with minimal button pushing.
I'm more excited about hollow knight being on sale than any of the new releases this week.... honestly I'm usually more excited to look at the sale list than the list of new games.
@Dualmask
T
Don’t play it 24/7 then.
I play almost every day since launch and still have a world (pun intended) of things to do. Not to mention how annoying is GU going to be since the quality of life things World brought us.
Yes, content wise it’s a better game but gameplay is so boring and lazy compared to World. Graphically, it’s a Wii game and no 60fps either.
@Denoloco ok.
Little Dragon's Cafe looks so good but I can't justify paying full retail price for it, if they would have launched it at 20 bucks I would bite but as it is I am not sure they can discount it enough to where I would be comfortable paying for it. Those types of games are right up my alley so if it reviews exceptionally well I may be willing to go a little higher than 20 bucks.
Nothing for me this week. Busy with overcooked 2 with my kids and waiting patiently for NBA 2k19 to be released
Hunter, always bet on hunter !
Dat Night Trap!
