Re: Pokémon Fans Vent Frustrations Online About Scarlet & Violet's Technical Issues

SteamEngenius

Yep. Clearly a lack of giving a ***** because they know the good little sheep will pay up even knowing it's a half-assed unfinished game. Nothing to do with the switch limitations, just the almighty Lord $$$ at play yet again.

@Takoda Theres where you are wrong though. In a few days NL will report about how Pokemon is #1 and #2 in sales. Another few weeks to see the huge amount of sales they made. What exactly is going to give them motivation to change and do better? Nothing. Nothing at all.

Re: Video: Hogwarts Legacy Shows Off Magical New Gameplay Footage

SteamEngenius

Looks pretty great. Not really sold on parts of it like the class system (I'm a minority who thought Bully sucked) but as a huge HP nerd, I'll be excited to explore places as the castle itself is the main character I'm interested in, not some offshoot story.

I'll definitely be enrolling at Hogwarts on the PC though as I can't imagine this playing great on the switch even with the more delayed release date.

Still strongly support she-who-must-not-be-named as well. JK is a great author with a completely sound scientific viewpoint and the anti-free speech/cancel culture needs to kindly go away. Boycotting this would be dumb anyway since she's already a billionaire (she doesn't care about your dollar or two from royalties she sees) and it's not like it was her pitch and she helped code it.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Tactics Ogre: Reborn

SteamEngenius

I'll stick to the original. It's $60 cheaper.

Always found the story pretty lackluster compared to other comparable SRPGs anyway. Felt like a muddied down FFT.

Also I find it very amusing when people add in the system they played it on like the guy did with Steam Deck. Always cute when they toss in a self brag about something that literally has NOTHING to do with the game nor should be mentioned in a review. Kind of like how people do here with the OLED.

Re: Nintendo's Mobile Game Downloads Surpass 800 Million

SteamEngenius

Mobile gaming will only continue to grow. Then there's things like the Apex Legends mobile version that runs infinitely better than the Switch version while looking better as well and running at a stable 50fps. Hell there's even a Switch emulator that runs on midrange phones.

Re: Overwatch 2 Player Count Reaches 35 Million Players In The First Month

SteamEngenius

Pretty impressive. It's nice never playing against bots with that many people. Still loving the game and after 40 hours, I'm FINALLY getting my aim settings finely tuned for my mains lol.

@Rika_Yoshitake You realize Twitter isn't exactly the smartest group of people, right? Hell, they've been saying "dead game" since the first week Fortnite launched.

@Xiovanni A dude with president Pooh Bear pfp claiming Blizzard is "phone phishing". Hahaha man that's funny. Dumb, yes, but also funny.

@Joeynator3000 Nah, it's just the very vocal minority who like to be against things solely to make themselves feel better/righteous. Most people have the brains to realize a few bad apples out of a MASSIVE company does not change anything in the big picture (people can't step back and see it anymore).

Re: Talking Point: What's The Best Use Of Licensed Music In A Switch Game?

SteamEngenius

I'll never forget crossing into Mexico in the original Red Dead Redemption and Jose Gonzalez's "Far Away" started playing so naturally.

"Step in front of a runaway train..just to feel alive again". Gave me chills and made me a fan of his music from that moment in one of the most memorable moments of my gaming history.

Also that old Playstation 1 light gun game, Revolution X that was all about Aerosmith. That game was pretty sweet for it's time.

Re: Pokémon Dev Job Listing References R&D For Next-Generation Hardware

SteamEngenius

@VoidofLight Yep. Late 24/early 25 depending on how the state of the world plays out. Doubt they'll even bother with any other upgraded versions given the cost of semiconductors when a switch "pro" wouldn't bring in as many sales as a full blown new console would.

Been saying this for 2 years but every other article there's always a few people with no clue saying we need a pro model smh.

Re: Overwatch 2 Reveals New Tank Hero, Joining The Lineup December 6th

SteamEngenius

But I just finished the 55 level battle to get the new healer..

@Itachi2099 Not sure who's ass you're pulling that number out of. As a new player it took me about 20 hours to unlock everyone and get the new Kiriko from the battle pass. Not sure where the made up "100s" of hours is coming from.

@Snatcher I know this may come as shocking news...but actually just PLAYING games and enjoying them takes the grind out of the grind. Weird, right? It's like..such a 2000s idea.

Re: Feature: It Takes Two Devs "Confident" The Switch Port Will Exceed Expectations

SteamEngenius

That's good they're making the effort, that's the only thing limiting the Switch these days, lazy devs.

That said, not my type of game at all and once you've watched someone play it, no need to do so yourself.

@Dom_31 Yeah can't say I can agree with your rant when you somehow think Skyrim is not a "way lesser" version lmao. I'm not quite sure what you think the Switch is though? It's a way to play games while you poop, not to get 120fps 8k the kids think they NEED these days.

Re: Blizzard Removes Another Hero From Overwatch 2 For Two Weeks Due To Bug

SteamEngenius

Its extremely crazy how long they estimate these fixes to be. I thought the whole point of 'live service' games was for exactly things like this so they can get things fixed in a day or two, not weeks. Oh well, I haven't really put much time into learning her yet anyway.

I'm amazed at how well I'm doing on the Switch Lite considering the limitations. Took ages to fine tune the controls (differently for each character too) but man pulling off multiple headshot kills against the sweats on their beefy machines feels good.
