Re: Watch: Is Five Years Between Splatoon Games Too Short A Wait?

SteamEngenius

The answer is simply No. Nobody gives half a crap about CoD now because they pumped so many of the turds out.

I had my fun with 2 but after like 30 hours I got bored of it, mostly because of the horrid matchmaking was so unbalanced and every "new" gun unlock was just a slight variation of something I already had plus the crappy equipment system. Won't be bothering with this one.

Re: Witcher 3 Dev Admits He Overcrowded One Map With Too Many Points Of Interest

More points of interest the better! Whereas BoTW had nothing of interest in 90% of the map.

Still need to do more sWitcher since I was at like 30 hours in and moved on for some reason even though I was still loving it. Maybe I'll hold off until the next season of Witcher starts up on Nutflicks though.

Edit: @Mauzuri Hah nearly identical comments about how bland and boring BoTW world was. Glad I'm not the only one not blinded by fanboyism on it.

Just finished up League of Legends: Ruined King and still have a turn based RPG itch so I picked up World of Final Fantasy: Maxima from the Squenix sale. Couple hours in and loving it so far, it's pretty adorable (and I don't like cutesy stuff much) and it's had some pretty good humor so far. Will keep pressing on and dying in Enter the Gungeon some more as well, got the robot unlocked after many countless fails, so that's something. Outside of that will chip away at Guacamelee 2 some more as well even if I like the exploring more than the actual combat.

Re: Rumour: Immortals Fenyx Rising Spin-Off Will Be "Less Of A Copy Of Breath Of The Wild"

SteamEngenius

Awesome news. I absolutely loved everything about Fenix rising (playing as the female, the voice actress did such a great job, made Fenix one of my all time favorite protagonists). To me it was soo sooo much better than BoTW. The entire world was just stuffed with things to do and find unlike the vast wasteland of BoTW. Much more enjoyable combat with weapons that didn't snap after 3 swipes. Way better characters that had actual life to them. Just everything that made me sorely regret buying the generic-open-world-game-with-Link-slapped-in that was BoTW, is in this and done great. Plus the puzzles were so much better and varied.

While I would want a more direct sequel, I'll most likely pick this up since the world they made was just amazing and all the characters were memorable.

Re: PSA: It Looks Like Copies Of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Are Out In The Wild

SteamEngenius

Not sure why this is news when it happens with every single major release? It's just how dealing with physical items works..

Just checked and nobody is streaming it on Twitch yet, so they're either afraid of Nintendough or not all that many copies out yet.

@Silly_G I mean yeah, I printed covers for every Wii game I downloaded, but seems more likely people just got their hands on copies since it always happens. What, do you think stores get all the copies delivered early the day it goes on sale or something?

Re: Square Enix Confirms It's Making Final Fantasy NFTs

Such a weird thing to own a digital picture that anyone still can download and use as they please...

Then again I haven't actually paid to see a movie/TV show since Matrix 2 came out so I don't exactly have qualms about "ownership" of something that can be copied and created indefinitely.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 16th)

I'm determined to finish League of Legend: Ruined King so I can feel less guilty about buying new games and free up space for said games.

Outside of that some Enter the Gungeon runs. Took about 22 hours for my first win, even if it didn't really count due to not killing the past. A bit more Hob: Definite Edition as I love the world they created with that and I bit the bullet and got AI: Somnium Files when it was $8 just because everyone said it's so good even if I always thought visual novels were dumb since there's not really much actual playing involved. Only 2 hours in but I like it well enough so far, voice acting is great in it and it has had some pretty funny writing.

Might try and finally finish Hollow Knight as well for backlog clubs sake.

Re: Backlog Club: Hollow Knight Is A Perfect Game For Notebook Cartography

SteamEngenius

Funny, I'm around 28 hours as well and should finish it up...but the game is so cheap that it lost most of its fun. The constant one little flying annoyance on nearly every screen put there just to annoy and make you bounce backwards into falling/more damage is just very poor game design

Oh and putting the boss checkpoints just far enough away that you have to spend minutes getting back is again, very very bad design, and started to ruin the game for me making it more frustrating than fun.

Re: Nintendo Reassures Fans "More" N64 Games Will Be Added To Switch Online

SteamEngenius

@SpaceboyScreams Not the only turd. But I mean people have to at least trick themselves into believing that RENTING these old games is worth the steep price tag for whatever reason when they can be emulated (with mods/graphical enhancements if wanted) on just about any phone (makes them even MORE portable than a Switch since you won't need to be connected to NSO+ premium plus) made in the last 5 years or computer in the last 20.
