Paying for inferior versions of 15 year old games than the roms you can easily emulate on toasters? Silly times we live in.

I prefer my RPG people to either have one unique look they always have (PS1 era RPGs) or have what gear you equip change your look. This is neither. I really didn't like the cosmetic crap in Xenoblade Chronicles but that could be because most of them looked really bad.

I've found marijuana goes much better with games than booze.

@PepperMintRex But it's not even a port, you're just emulating a PC playing it somewhere else. Thus they have to do basically nothing to release a cloud version and still collect some poor suckers money.

That's a shame, was one of the only games that interested me whatever showcase it was in a couple weeks ago. I got Hob: Definite Edition from the big sale and it's been a nice return to real Zelda esque gameplay that BoTW totally lacks, and this seemed like another to fill that void.

Seems like future patches could fix it up if they aren't lazy, so there's still a chance for a future sale pickup.

@StarPoint He says the same crap about needing a Switch 2 (maybe in 2024 buddy, chip shortage, remember?) in every article that as much as mentions below 60 fps. Don't think they'd even understand the meaning of it's the softwares fault so don't bother lol

Haven't played it yet, waiting for it to go on sale for $30 on the eShop again.

With how fast AI generated images and deepfake technology have advanced in mere years, soon we won't even need actors. Just enter a name, a genre, hell it will be able to make up entire plots and scripts from a few sentences..and it will make an entire movie for you. Would be a good use of that crazy tech for games like this.

@Jaguar_Wong I agree 100% that preordering is a foolish thing to do in the age of half finished full releases, but I mean you know what you're getting with Bayonetta. 2 ran like a dream and I have full faith this will be just as smooth.

This destroys all of Nintendo's ho hum first party titles by a mile. Also proof we don't need a Switch 2, just developers who aren't too lazy to squeeze the power out of it, because man that looks gorgeous.

We should get fully nekkid angel mode too for us adults not ashamed of our silly hooman bodies though.

@Greatluigi Mirrorverse has been out..and it's horrible. You can play for about an hour and then it's paywalled. Plus the actual battling is really really boring. Has some decent graphics, that's it, you're not missing much.

@Anti-Matter You keep saying millennial but I don't think you know what that term means (unsurprisingly). I grew up with original Nintendo, pretty sure I know how to play a game.

It does look decent but I just can't with 20 year old RPG mechanics anymore, waaayyy too simplistic.

Regardless, anyone who is actually looking forward to this hasn't played it in over 10 years and has no clue how bad it is by today's standards. All the nostalgia in the world can't make it still as good as we remembered, better to keep the find memories than play it now and realize how awfully it's aged.

Last time I got Alder's Blood for free from their giveaway (ignore the mindless 'free so it's bad' goons) , actually a pretty good game. Might be worth getting the other ones in case they give that one away again if you're into SRPGs.

The Turing Test should be on here. Pretty cool game with a lot of atmosphere and you can pick it up really cheap on sale.

I always forget GameStop is still around until articles like this. Figured it went the way of blockbuster by now after the stonks thing. Pretty unnecessary place especially with how bad they rip everyone off.

@steventonysmith Yeah I laugh when I see people so eagerly wanting GoldenEye...they've clearly not played it in 10 years or more because it's just really bad now. The rose tinted nostalgia glasses are going to blind a whole bunch of people when they get to play it again.

From a hands on thing I read it seemed they found it really shallow and linear with any upgrades you acquire being kind of meaningless. Adding the fact there's no punishment for being caught besides going back to a checkpoint and doing it all over, I'll be passing. Then again I've only liked LOTR to use to fall asleep to. Just don't see this being very good.

Looks kind of interesting. Almost has a bit of a Peggle quality to it. Could be fun in a weird way.

Played so much of the original on Xbox getting all gold medals, which was no easy feat with joysticks, that I think I'm good. Second one was good but way easier as it relied on story more. Both excellent games and gyro aiming would be fun to try so maybe if it drops to $10 one day even if I'm sure I could finish the first in 20 minutes still sans load times.

Looks pretty sweet, almost seems like there's TOO much going on at times. Will keep an eye on it though.

Glad I check multiple sites for reviews since people NOT PAID to give good scores have shown it's a buggy mess that was abandoned by the developers.

I really hate the combat in the first one, feels so unnatural hitting the D pad constantly. Maybe that's why I stopped after about 7 hours. That or all..the...endless..boring...grinding.

You say a lot of games look like Earthbound because it's a cheap and easy style to copy. 90% of the time, means the game will be meh at best as well due to lack of effort to add interesting visuals.

This looks like someone tried RPG Maker for 10 minutes and gave up though.

Tried it for a few matches but it takes as long to find a match as it does to play the match, so that was a quick uninstall.

It looks okay I guess? Collecting a billion coins doesn't look very fun though.
