I prefer my RPG people to either have one unique look they always have (PS1 era RPGs) or have what gear you equip change your look. This is neither. I really didn't like the cosmetic crap in Xenoblade Chronicles but that could be because most of them looked really bad.
@PepperMintRex But it's not even a port, you're just emulating a PC playing it somewhere else. Thus they have to do basically nothing to release a cloud version and still collect some poor suckers money.
That's a shame, was one of the only games that interested me whatever showcase it was in a couple weeks ago. I got Hob: Definite Edition from the big sale and it's been a nice return to real Zelda esque gameplay that BoTW totally lacks, and this seemed like another to fill that void.
Seems like future patches could fix it up if they aren't lazy, so there's still a chance for a future sale pickup.
@StarPoint He says the same crap about needing a Switch 2 (maybe in 2024 buddy, chip shortage, remember?) in every article that as much as mentions below 60 fps. Don't think they'd even understand the meaning of it's the softwares fault so don't bother lol
With how fast AI generated images and deepfake technology have advanced in mere years, soon we won't even need actors. Just enter a name, a genre, hell it will be able to make up entire plots and scripts from a few sentences..and it will make an entire movie for you. Would be a good use of that crazy tech for games like this.
@Jaguar_Wong I agree 100% that preordering is a foolish thing to do in the age of half finished full releases, but I mean you know what you're getting with Bayonetta. 2 ran like a dream and I have full faith this will be just as smooth.
Awesome! Loving the look of Viola as well. Hopefully you can play through the whole game with her in NG+ and not limited to a few chapters.
This destroys all of Nintendo's ho hum first party titles by a mile. Also proof we don't need a Switch 2, just developers who aren't too lazy to squeeze the power out of it, because man that looks gorgeous.
@Greatluigi Mirrorverse has been out..and it's horrible. You can play for about an hour and then it's paywalled. Plus the actual battling is really really boring. Has some decent graphics, that's it, you're not missing much.
@Anti-Matter You keep saying millennial but I don't think you know what that term means (unsurprisingly). I grew up with original Nintendo, pretty sure I know how to play a game.
@BloodNinja What? It's called ransomware because it's like ransom...they usually do get paid the millions of dollars too so they get control of their systems back.
Happened to one of the main water plants here in America awhile back and tons of other places. The companies usually pay up discreetly it seems.
But now more than ever we want to shoot some very low poly Russians. Would be perfect timing.
Regardless, anyone who is actually looking forward to this hasn't played it in over 10 years and has no clue how bad it is by today's standards. All the nostalgia in the world can't make it still as good as we remembered, better to keep the find memories than play it now and realize how awfully it's aged.
Spending the price of a switch lite for 3-4 games so your controller can make annoying click noises? Riiiight..
I'll stick to my $30 GameSir controller that is basically the exact same thing for half the price of one that says Nintendo on the box and has had no problems after 2000 hours.
Last time I got Alder's Blood for free from their giveaway (ignore the mindless 'free so it's bad' goons) , actually a pretty good game. Might be worth getting the other ones in case they give that one away again if you're into SRPGs.
@ShadJV Hmm guess I'm misremembering since I only put like 5 hours in ages ago. Guess I did use Rabbids peach since I never got her human form yet then.
I mean you could have said "any roguelites" instead of picking Dead Cells, but I guess there's no Amazon link to get referral money that way, eh?
Surprised Celeste isn't on here though as it's a good game to TRY and beat one or two measley screens on. At least that's how I've been with the god awful Chapter 9. Even though I think I've reached my limit on progressing.
I always forget GameStop is still around until articles like this. Figured it went the way of blockbuster by now after the stonks thing. Pretty unnecessary place especially with how bad they rip everyone off.
@YoshiAngemon Don't worry you'll be a grown up someday and then you'll regret it.
@steventonysmith Yeah I laugh when I see people so eagerly wanting GoldenEye...they've clearly not played it in 10 years or more because it's just really bad now. The rose tinted nostalgia glasses are going to blind a whole bunch of people when they get to play it again.
From a hands on thing I read it seemed they found it really shallow and linear with any upgrades you acquire being kind of meaningless. Adding the fact there's no punishment for being caught besides going back to a checkpoint and doing it all over, I'll be passing. Then again I've only liked LOTR to use to fall asleep to. Just don't see this being very good.
Played so much of the original on Xbox getting all gold medals, which was no easy feat with joysticks, that I think I'm good. Second one was good but way easier as it relied on story more. Both excellent games and gyro aiming would be fun to try so maybe if it drops to $10 one day even if I'm sure I could finish the first in 20 minutes still sans load times.
I really hate the combat in the first one, feels so unnatural hitting the D pad constantly. Maybe that's why I stopped after about 7 hours. That or all..the...endless..boring...grinding.
@BloodNinja It's more Zelda than BoTW at least. That's just (insert any open world game where they forgot to put actual things to do here) with Link placed in it.
You say a lot of games look like Earthbound because it's a cheap and easy style to copy. 90% of the time, means the game will be meh at best as well due to lack of effort to add interesting visuals.
This looks like someone tried RPG Maker for 10 minutes and gave up though.

Re: Sega "Working On Fixing A Variety Of Issues" In Sonic Origins
Paying for inferior versions of 15 year old games than the roms you can easily emulate on toasters? Silly times we live in.

Re: 40% Of Europe's Mario Strikers Switch Sales Come From Just One Country

@SigourneyBeaver That's what I was thinking. No PLANNED maintenance takes weeks.

Re: Bayonetta 3 Has A "Naive Angel Mode" For People Who Don't Want To See Bums
Good for the 5 people still upset about the human form somehow I guess.
We should get fully nekkid angel mode too for us adults not ashamed of our silly hooman bodies though.
Re: Twitter Reveals "Most Tweeted About Games" In The First Half Of 2022
@Royalblues That's only because Apex mobile is new.
@Euler You realize Zelda is more than just the bad BoTW spinoffs, right?
Re: There's A New Pokémon GO 'Auto-Catcher' On The Market
Ah yes playing games by not playing them. So fun!

Re: Watch: Live A Live's Demo Is Worth Checking Out (And So Is The Game)
It does look decent but I just can't with 20 year old RPG mechanics anymore, waaayyy too simplistic.
Re: Bayonetta 3 Gets "Mature" ESRB Rating For Nudity, Gore, And In-Game Purchases
@Kirby_Girl Spoiler alert, the new Monster Hunter expansion is an "in game purchase".
Smh people think it's going to be loot boxes somehow lmao.
Anyway can't wait! Might be the first game I've bought at full price since Hades. Love me some witch tits.

It's dangerous to go outside here in America. Not getting shot for some pikmans.

Re: Review: F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch - Frustratingly Close To Metroidvania Greatness
Yep, knew since it was announced it wasn't going to get enough love to make it good on Switch. Laughing at people who preordered.
@MisterMan Is there a reason people post here just to brag they bought a steam deck? I don't get it.

Still, no Rosalina is a huge bummer.
Re: Mario + Rabbids Producer Talks About Sequel's Character Selection Process
No real Rosalina though? That's sad since she's my favorite Mario character.

The Turing Test should be on here. Pretty cool game with a lot of atmosphere and you can pick it up really cheap on sale.

Not so much 20 years ago though.

Looks pretty awesome. Glad it's got its own sort of art style instead of yet another pixel art one.

Re: LEGO Confirms Rumours With New 18+ Bowser Set, Which You Can Actually Fight
@Hero-of-WiiU Same. I was wondering if they gave Bowser a blocky Lego schlong or something.
Re: Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion Will Have 'Differences' In Performance On Switch
Lol 120 fps..so more than your eyes can even notice. Impressive.
Shouldn't be much of an issue making a slightly better looking 15 year old PSP game run at 30 one would think.
Re: XEL, A "Vibrant Sci-Fi Zelda-Like", Will Launch On Switch In 2022
@BloodNinja It's more Zelda than BoTW at least. That's just (insert any open world game where they forgot to put actual things to do here) with Link placed in it.
Re: Video: 10 Exciting New Games Coming To Nintendo Switch In July 2022
Would be nice if any of this was clickable so I could find more info on things I hadn't heard about like Xel, making me do my own searching? Nonsense.
Looks like nothing for me from this list though although Digimon has my interest even if I've never played any of their games before.
