Call Nintendo!!! CEASE AND DESIST + DEATH PENALTY!
(His work is cute)
@OmnitronVariant Omg yes! That’s the thing I hate the most about the Switch era… The interface is such a downgrade… And Streetpass… it was a genius feature… Now it’s just bland…
I can’t stand the UX ever since they changed everything for this live service stuff… And Just Dance+ has far fewer songs than the previous Just Dance Unlimited. It’s such a downgraded experience now… And I can’t believe we still have to dance with Joy‑Cons that barely register anything. Why the hell they can’t provide a dedicated controller, in the style of Kinect (which was hands down the best way to play Just Dance with full-body tracking) is beyond me.
Limiting the game to 1080p at 60 FPS docked, without even attempting to use DLSS, suggests that the Switch 2 version is likely still running in Switch 1 mode and is based on the same build, with just a few tweaks to take advantage of the Switch 2’s increased power.
@JR150 We are still stuck in a world dominated by straight men, unfortunately. By default, there will always be more male characters everywhere… which is exhausting and people just keep doing it without thinking.
Oooh that’s so gross! Eww eeeewwwww disgusting! eyeroll For f’s sake.
As long as it doesn’t include discriminatory stuff that’s already illegal online, who even cares? It’s literally just a bunch of pixels.
Honestly, I kind of wish kids weren’t allowed online anyway. And even if I get why this isn’t okay under Nintendon’t’s rules, it’s really nothing more than stupid fun.
You really shouldn’t come visit my island or my friend’s. Omg haha.
If it weren’t a Metroid game, it would pass for an average, forgettable title. But with Nintendo, there’s always that little extra that makes people want to love it. I didn’t. After about two hours, it becomes clear just how dull and average it is and the desert is a total joke: just a way to cover up the fact that the developers weren’t skilled enough to create clever, intricate level design like the first Prime. Using that desert to link the zones and call it somewhat open world is laughable. It artificially makes the game longer to force you to go back and forth.
This is a 7/10 and finishing the game felt like a tedious (beautiful) chore. Sadly.
@Lord I agree even if this is not 100% accurate since the model 2 versions of Fighting Vipers, Virtua Fighter 2, Sonic The Fighters and Daytona USA are on Xbox Series X|S and 360 but four games are nothing compared to the rest of the model 2 and 3 catalogue :/
Imagine a timeline where Sony never suddenly entered the home console market and suffocated SEGA. We would have gotten a port of this game on the Saturn or the Dreamcast, complete with a gigantic dedicated controller haha…
We’ll see but for now it’s hard for me to picture the adult Lara Croft being played by anyone other than Angelina Jolie, even if the movies were terrible
40 bucks for very old digital first party games is insane. I paid that price day one for the physical version of some of them 5 or more years ago. That’s the thing I hate the most about Nintendo and because of that policy, I can’t even buy a third of their games…
@MJF Sony still owns the Champions of Norrath license even though they sold EverQuest about 10 years ago. Given Sony’s rather shady business practices, it’s very unlikely we’ll ever see a port on platforms other than their own. At best, we might get an emulated version as part of their PlayStation classics on PS4/5
The color variants are barely noticeable when connected to the Switch 2. Why the hell do we have to wait months or even years to get real new colors, when back in the day you could buy the 3DS in so many different colors and special editions? I remember not even being able to choose between all those gorgeous transparent N64s as a kid...
If it was not a keycard on switch 2 it would have been day one for me. But since it’s not, I’m gonna wait for a big discount on the eshop in a year or two…
The game is fantastic and looks gorgeous on the Switch 2. My only complaint is the online mode, which is plagued by bots and the lack of lobbies, forcing you to wait a minute after each race to find new player, unlike Mario Kart.
If there is a remake, I hope it’s not gonna be like FF7 Remake which is not FFVII anymore… I hope they will keep the original story, structure and battle system. I love IX so much ❤️
I can’t wait! I’ve been playing on Xbox but the massive stick dead zones, awful keyboard support (why we still can’t just press Enter to open the chat window is beyond me) and the absolutely stupid chat censorship were huge turn-offs. They still haven’t fixed it.
And a portable MMORPG is just so convenient. I really miss Order & Chaos on mobile.., now mobile MMORPGs are all autoplay junk.
Get ready to buy SD cards though, the game is HUUUGE.
@UltimateOtaku91 absolutely wrong. Sony has been extremely agressive regarding third party exclusives since the very first ps1. Sega was the first victime of this policy and the N64 suffered a lot of this too.
Sony is also partly responsible for Xbox’s current situation, having locked down virtually every third party deal it could on Playstation since the PS4 era. Combined with Xbox’s refusal to properly fight back, this has led to Xbox’s current state.
Xbox’s new strategy is a disaster and feels like a huge slap in the face to its fans. They have the money and the power to compete and make a comeback but they simply don’t seem to care anymore. Exclusives are important. Period.
I loved the game. It’s not for everyone but the universe is really interesting. It smells like typical Bethesda though. Many people spit on it because it was an Xbox exclusive but you can bet that as soon it’s going to be announced for ps5/s2 it will get some more points… It’s not a masterpiece but really far from a bad game.
@The_Nintendo_Expat Was it really luck to buy a system whose death was partly caused by Sony’s aggressive strategy after just two years? 🤭
My point is, you can’t objectively claim the N64 version of Rayman 2 was the best, since MIDI files can’t compete with all the other enhancements in the mind blowing DC version.
What the hell? Once you’ve played the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2 (and I mean the Dreamcast one, not the PS2), you just can’t go back to the N64 version without that gag reflex taste creeping up in your mouth 🌝
The N64 version has its charm, sure… but yeah. No.
NSO is a joke when it comes to N64 and GC games. For many people, input lag isn’t a concern (I’ve seen countless friends play on their TV without even turning on game mode, enduring horrendous latency and they didn’t even care) but if you are sensitive to it, it’s absolutely unbearable. I really didn’t enjoy SoulCalibur 2 on that emulator.
Expedition 33 is so overrated, omg… I won’t start a debate but as a JRPG fan, the game feels like a western parody to me.
I’m pretty sure it’s going to be released on the Switch 2 at some point. Don’t expect anything like a Final Fantasy… I don’t get how or why so many people compare it to the golden age of the FF franchise. We didn’t play the same games, obviously.
@Samalik @Vyacheslav333 I still don’t get why when people wanted Xbox exclusives so bad they always refused to invest in the Xbox ecosystem. They do for Nintendo and PS exclusives.
Anyway, the Xbox ship continues to sink…
@FrenchVaniIIuxe The game is rather good and didn’t flop, it was successful on gamepass…
@h3s I do. You will have to remap the buttons in the game’s options and connect your M30 to a computer to update its firmware in order to play on Switch 2.
This controller is absolutely amazing for fighting games. I also use it on Saturn, Dreamcast, Mega Drive and I also have a wired Xbox Series X version.
Ooooh this is so good! As soon as I find a decent printer, I’ll print it. And Mackenzie… I really hope there’s an update to quiet him… It’s like playing the game with a walkthrough.
Aside from that mainstream feature, the game’s actually really great.
@VeganH Yeah they removed the personal streaming option from the official app for some stupid reason. Now you have to go to xbox.com/remoteplay to connect to your Xbox from anywhere or use a third party app like XBPlay. It’s annoying but XBPlay is totally worth it though.
Star Wars Outlaws port was closer to the series S than this so I guess I will skip that Switch 2 port and wait for the Xbox version to be cheap. I’m a tad disappointed. However it’s not that surprising, the Series S is clearly more powerful.
@VeganH what ? No… I can stream my Xbox games without any sub. I just stream them from my Xbox to my phone and a 25$ handheld controller.
But if you already own the physical Switch 1 version, it’ll completely ignore the data on the cartridge. You have to download a whole separate build of the game which is about 15GB… Unlike games like Zelda BOTW, it seems that it doesn’t combine updated files with the original Switch 1 cartridge data.
@Folkloner the previous poster has a name, thank you.
And no, I didn’t misread anything. But thanks for the judgment, I guess.
It’s really not « laughable » to buy a physical Switch 2 game that still needs an internet connection just to play the version it’s supposed to include. The front of the box literally says the cartridge contains the Switch 1 version and the Switch 2 upgrade. Nowhere does it mention that the Switch 2 files require a day one patch and a download to even be playable.
