Re: Sonic Frontiers: Definitive Edition Switch 2 Box Art Surfaces Online

I love Sonic Frontiers. I honestly felt it was one of the best 3D Sonic games I have ever played (yes, I know to many that doesn't say a lot) and I thought the open zone direction they took was a great idea.

It sucks it's a game key card though. I honestly thought with Sonic Crossroads being a proper cartridge that Sega was going to support them more going forward.

Re: Minecraft Switch 2 Rating Pops Up Online

@molkom It's the same basic game, but it does run a hell of a lot better. The framerate is smoother, there is less slowdown and pop in loads much quicker. Marketplace add ons are also less glitchy and less prone to crashing.

Re: Ecco The Dolphin: Complete Announced, Includes Remasters & A Brand New Game

Reprise

Will it even include regional variants though? Because the Japanese Mega Drive version of Ecco 1 actually came out later than the Western release and included gameplay tweaks, new content and I believe some new music too. Interestingly, those changes were exclusive to Japanese MD release and weren't added into the Sega-CD/Mega-CD port.

Re: Sonic Frontiers "Definitive Edition" Has Been Rated In Korea

I really enjoyed Frontiers, but I opted for the PS5 version as the Switch version seemed to have quite a few issues. I wouldn't complain if they do decide to port it to the Switch 2. It's a great game and I am looking forward to seeing what direction they take the formula in with the next release.

Re: Talking Point: Metroid Prime 4 And The Burden Of Being 'Good Enough'

@Stormkyleis Eh, ok. A lot of people use the word "average", but the disdain seems to suggest people think otherwise. Why would people be so passionate about their dislike for the game and want to so badly decry positive opinions or reviews if they believe it is average? Average games can still be enjoyable and, to some people, they can still be great games depending on what you like and how much you are able to look past their flaws. Some of that is subjective.

@KingChiliPepper Agreed. I am also surprised by the comments. I am aware that it was considered a bit of a disappointment, but if you judged the games purely by the comments here alone, you'd think people absolutely hate it and think it's an awful game. I haven't finished it quite yet (I am maybe around 70% of the way through), but I have been enjoying it so far. There are plenty of great moments.

Re: UK Charts: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Sales Almost 50/50 Across Switch And Switch 2

Reprise

@Jeronan Firstly, that's really good to hear. So thank you for explaining how the game expands as you get more into it, because I must admit that after a few hours of the game I was kinda left thinking "is this it?" That said, I still maintain that the trailers and marketing material I saw still didn't really sell it to me and that (in my personal opinion at least) it looked less interesting than Arceus.

I am glad that a lot of new areas unlock and open up and there is plenty of content. I will stick with it.

Re: UK Charts: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Sales Almost 50/50 Across Switch And Switch 2

I think just going off of the initial pre-launch materials, marketing and trailers, that Arceus looked far more interesting than Z-A and having now played the latter a bit, I think my scepticism was warranted. The gameplay loop of going out into big open fields to explore and search for Pokemon was far more interesting than the small town/city location of Z-A with its small wild zones. It just feels a bit boring so far. So I am not surprised sales of Z-A are lower.

Re: WWE 2K25 Appears To Be Teasing A Switch 2 Announcement

Meh, the 2K WWE games are boring as hell in my opinion. All style and no substance as far as gameplay is concerned. I miss the fun, accessible wrestling games from the days of the N64, PS2 and Gamecube etc. The wrestling games we got in those two generations were so fun. And I know people often say that's just nostalgia talking, but I disagree. I still regularly play them on the original consoles.

Here Comes the Pain and No Mercy were my favourites (I know, predictable choices), but the other Smackdown games and Day of Reckoning games were also great fun. Raw 2 on Xbox is underrated. Even Royal Rumble as bare bones as it is was a lot of fun on Dreamcast thanks to the crazy 9 men in a ring Rumble. The Giant Gram games on Dreamcast were also good. I have to mention Fire Pro wrestling as well. Good times.

Re: Best Power Rangers Games, Ranked - Switch And Nintendo Systems

Battle For The Grid really should be #1 to he honest... The SNES movie game is ok, but fairly unremarkable and not as good as Fighting Edition. Battle For The Grid and Fighting Edition are the closest the series has gotten to games that are good on its own merits regardless of the licence. Both are very good fighting games.

Re: 1994 Classic 'Little Big Adventure' Is Getting A Full Remake, Out This Year

Reprise

@Kruegerino I was much the same. To be honest, I was incredibly disappointed when they announced that they were abandoning their plans for LBA3 in favour of a reboot, particularly since their reasoning was that they felt LBA3 would only appeal to a niche audience and that they would struggle to attract a wider modern audience. I felt they were a bit naive. They might pick up the odd impulse buyer or curious person with a reboot (or indeed this remake), but let's face it, 99% of people buying this will be fans of the original game. And then if it flops or "fails to meet expectations", where will that leave LBA3?

Re: 1994 Classic 'Little Big Adventure' Is Getting A Full Remake, Out This Year

Reprise

@Kruegerino I might be wrong, but I think that was discussed at one point, but was considered too big of a project for them. I have been subscribed to their newsletters and in the Discord channel since the team announced a few years back their intentions to revive the series. Unfortunately it has been a rocky road and they have struggled to attract a suitable publisher to come on board. They have had to change the project a few times. There was talk originally of LBA3, which sadly was scrapped in favour of a reboot, which then got cancelled, so they continued with plans for a remaster of both games. It seems like they finally have a publisher on board and we are getting a remake of the first game. I just hope it's successful enough for at least a LBA2 remake, if not LBA3 to finally happen.

Re: Rumour: 'Switch 2' Said To Be Fully Backward Compatible With A Larger, 1080p Screen

"According to Mobapad's blog post, the Switch's successor will be a "conservative evolution" of the current models; more akin to a "refined Pro model". As previously rumoured"

A waste of time if true. It will have been 8 years since the launch of the original Switch by the time this comes out. If it isn't w significant step up from the original after that amount of time, then what is the point?

Re: Random: Some Rare Fans Are Upset About The Latest Switch Online Announcement

Reprise

@betterman Yeah, exactly. I would not be expecting the exact same version of 'Rare Replay'. As you said, a special Nintendo edition would be nice and I would have said it would be something that is fairly likely to have happened if Nintendo wasn't trying to push the Online Service and Expansion pretty hard. I get it, from a business perspective they make a lot of money from the annual subscription and to push it hard, they need a strong selling point. These old games and Rare games in particular appearing on a Nintendo platform for the first time in decades is that strong selling point. It probably gains them a ton of subscriptions. But it still sucks as a customer. Oh well.

Re: Random: Some Rare Fans Are Upset About The Latest Switch Online Announcement

Reprise

I don't know. I do feel that Rare Replay (or at least some kind of Rare collection) would be possible on the Switch, but that Nintendo and anyone else involved (MS?) would rather use their library to drip feed releases to push this overpriced Nintendo Online and Expansion subscription programme. So yeah, I am not going to apologise for the fact that I am not a big fan of that, as a consumer.

No, I don't cry about it. No, I don't run over to Twitter to moan. But are these titles a little disappointing? Perhaps. Would I rather pay £35 per year in order to play a small handful of Rare titles that get drip fed to us or would I rather they would just release Rare Replay or some kind of collection that I can own and play? The latter please. Not sure why that makes anyone a bad person or whatever issue some people seem to have with it.
