I really enjoyed X as the last true turn-based offering in the franchise, but I probably won't go back to it. I've heard good things about XII. Will need to check it out.
Just hit winter in Stardew Valley, so feeling pretty good about the timing. Also, will probably revisit some of the snow courses in Golf Story. Definitely worth another go around.
The update hit on the 25th anniversary of the original game, if I'm not mistaken. I was excited to hear about the patch on NL, so I fired the game up, and noticed zero discernible difference. Still a great port, but the patch was much ado about nothing.
Coming back to D3 after a long break on PC. What's really great about this version is that hardcore mode is much more viable since lag is no longer an issue. Every free waking moment that I've had (which isn't much honestly) I've spent leveling up my Barb and Necromancer.
Remove all depictions of cowboys, army troops, pirates, and whatever historical fill-in-the-blank you can think of. I find it offensive. Those depictions do not represent my people.
See how easy that was? Please bring back common sense.
I've owned the previous 3 Civ games on PC, and I never played any of them online. This kind of game isn't really built for that anyway. When really good Civ players stream, they're usually playing single-player on insane difficulty and picking up huge scores.
This news has zero impact on my purchasing decision.
Purchased 25 games for my Switch. Diablo 3 will be #26, and if it reviews well, Civilization VI will be #27. Smash is also definitely on the menu before the year is up.
This and Bastion are instabuys for me even though I've already played them. They're just too perfect for Switch. And the music, my gawd...the music! Too good.
"Handheld does suffer a little bit more. By no means is it unplayable, but the smaller screen, lower resolution, and tiny characters all conspire to make it a slight strain on the eyes"
This is concerning due to the fact that handheld is really the only reason I'd pick this up again after dumping hundreds of hours into the PC version. Will do more digging, but would appreciate to hear the experience of folks who pick it up.
Huh...with all these late announcements on crappy sound, suboptimal controls, etc...it's a good thing you got that 9 out of 10 review out of the way early, eh NintendoLife?
@Kalmaro I appreciate where you're coming from, but to respond to a couple of these...
"The problem isn't that it's not a Nintendo IP. It's that they are literally just button masher that don't Eben have the power of Nintendo IPs to help out."
You literally made my point in this first paragraph.
"FE:W actually has depth."
It's still a pretty laughable level of strategic depth, if we're being honest. At its core, it's a button masher, because that's the genre we are dealing with. And I noticed you didn't include Hyrule Warriors, which doesn't have the same depth and still suffers from optimization issues as well. You can't tell me with a straight face these games would score 9's without their IP.
