Not to be critical of this article in particular, but where the heck are the reviews?! We just got a dump of games this week, and this is what we focus on?
I'm typically a bigger fan of western RPGs, but this looks more appetizing than starting another playthrough of Skyrim. Will probably wait and see.
I am a little intimidated by Xenoblade's depth, and hearing about low-res assets seems pretty annoying after playing plenty of games on the system without that issue.
I'm hoping Doom sticks around and produces some steady numbers. That being said, it makes me wonder about Mature titles on the Switch. Unless it's an indie title, probably a risk with this user base unfortunately.
Stardew Valley and Fire Emblem Warriors are both two games that I originally had chalked up as insta-buys. Getting around to playing good games on the Switch has become a challenge though due to the sheer amount of choice available. Stardew remains on my short list though. It'd be awesome to see Chucklefish bring Starbound to the Switch too.
Jaysis, people. Chill. It actually runs fine. The frame dips are way overblown by most of the people here. There's a reason it's getting decent-to-good scores in all its critical reviews.
Was a day one purchase and it plays great. The action is so fast and furious, I really don't notice many of these concessions everyone keeps harping about.
Still haven't felt the need to buy a pro controller. The middle piece that combines the joy cons works just fine for Doom and Mario Kart imo. I played BotW with them separated.
My back catalog already feels enormous. Not shedding many tears over this. I view Capcom a lot like EA right now. They're simply not interested in my money.
@thefoxystoat "is there a tablet besides whatever the latest iphone that can run hearthstone at more than 10fps? i dont think so. a switch version would be amazing"
Not sure what devices you've been using, but I've played Hearthstone across 2 different iPads and 3 different phones (mostly Android) and it has aways ran great.
Huge Hearthstone player here. It's not for everyone, but it's been successful because it's a whole lot more accessible than other similar card games. That being said, having Hearthstone on Switch doesn't excite me very much, mainly because the touchscreen is small, playing docked with controllers seems like it'd feel awkward, and the Switch WiFi adapter is pretty unreliable on the go.
Maybe it's not technically the best, but there's something about Super Mario Bros. 1 that will always make it my favorite. The simplicity. The nostalgia.
@Phle Yeah, that makes more sense. Open world isn't for everyone. Curious if you like the other extreme though, which is adventure games - similar to what Telltale puts out.
I love Rocket League, and will buy this eventually. But my internet connection really sucks right now, so I'll likely wait for my inevitable move before getting this.
Year 1 has been a banner year and technically isn't over until March. That being said, I'm excited for what will follow. Nintendo has been pulling no punches.
Somehow I knew a certain someone would be on here, playing the role of wet dishrag.
In any case, I'm also interested in what Nintendo's post-holiday plan will bring. Looking at the backlog of titles releasing before EOY, there's more than enough to carry me to March already. But I suspect Nintendo will keep the pedal on the metal.
If Nintendo waited until January, they would probably have two guaranteed back-to-back GotY winners, with BotW and now Odyssey. I love how they're not holding back though.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - There Are So Many...
Will finish Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows, then round it out with some Doom and Mario Odyssey.
Re: Guide: The Top Nintendo Black Friday 2017 Deals in the US
Some worthwhile Switch eShop deals is what I'd like to see
Re: Nintendo Download: 16th November (North America)
@Bengals76 "No Netflix, web browser or virtual console on the Switch?"
Sometimes we're just not allowed to have nice things. Case in point, you still have Marvin Lewis, don't ya?
Re: Review: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Switch)
If Xenoblade disappoints I may come back to this.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry Gives Its Full Analysis of Skyrim on Nintendo Switch
Doom is a very well put-together port also. Bethesda is killing it with their Switch support.
Re: Music: Metroid, Kid Icarus And Earthbound Composer Has Released His First Album
@Damo Ah, gotcha. It's all out of love, man. Eager to read what you guys have to say.
Re: Music: Metroid, Kid Icarus And Earthbound Composer Has Released His First Album
@AyeHaley you're totally within your rights to be annoyed by me being annoyed...hopefully you can cope.
But seriously, NL...get the reviews out.

Re: Mammoth Super Bomberman R Update Goes Live With New Characters, Pets And A Grand Prix Mode
Nice update. It'd be nice to get some more story maps though.
Re: Nintendo Scoops Plenty of Nominations for The Game Awards
Breath of the Wild has got to be the GotY for most people.
Re: Out Today: L.A. Noire and Rocket League Lead the Way in Fresh Switch eShop Releases
Picking up Rocket League for sure. I'll bite the bullet for Batman once critics verify that Telltale didn't release another poorly optimized game.
Re: Out Today: L.A. Noire and Rocket League Lead the Way in Fresh Switch eShop Releases
@SLIGEACH_EIRE "Fresh ports you mean. The majority of those games are ports."
OMG, you're right! What on Earth would we do without you? So glad you could come set the record straight and save us from ourselves.
Re: Video: Check Out The Canned Justice League Game That Almost Came To Wii
@Fandabidozi Wonder Woman was good, but yeah they've already messed up their cinematic universe.

Re: Digital Foundry Gives Its Full Analysis of DOOM on Nintendo Switch
@ThanosReXXX From what I've seen on NL, the biggest critics of Switch games are the people who don't have one.

Re: Capcom to Bring Increased Support and Ace Attorney to Switch in 2018
@N8tiveT3ch "Hmmm ok then."
Pretty much my response.
Re: Review: DOOM (Switch)
While I already expected the mobile Doom to be the worst Doom from a performance standpoint, it still sucks to hear about frequent frame drops.
Still, probably going to pick this up. On Metacritic, it hasn't scored anything less than a 7.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Gets Expansion Pass and Surprise Breath of the Wild Crossover
Uh...so was this the biggest news that came out of the direct? What a letdown.

Will pick this up for Christmas
Re: Sky Force Reloaded Is Coming to the Switch
@Slug_Geek_Ire I agree that porting a phone game isn't impressive. But CoD, and No Man's Sky? Pretty sure any console can survive without those games.
Re: Sky Force Reloaded Is Coming to the Switch
Uh...is this different than the phone game of the same name? If not, there's literally nothing to get excited about.

I was busy wrapping up Rabbids last weekend, so this weekend will truly be about Odyssey.

Just no
Re: Nintendo Wants Everyone In Your House To Have Their Own Switch

I wouldn't bother. The Wii U already offers anything you could ever want.
Re: Super Mighty Power Man Is The Mega Man Game You Always Wanted On Switch
Well it's not going to win me over with its screen shots.
Re: EA Says It's Still Too Early To Judge Demand For More Games On Switch
Only thing I'm interested from EA is Star Wars and Madden. They can keep everything else to themselves - even their Bioware offerings.
Re: Random: Did Reggie Just Accidentally Reveal Switch's Next Big Game Announcement?
Makes sense that DK would be next, but doesn't look like a slipup.
Re: Bethesda Adopts "Popular Internet Saying" To Promote DOOM On Switch
Day one purchase for me. Taking Doom everywhere I go sounds so very cool.
Seems like a few Wii U owners here are having difficulty grasping that concept.

I think you and I have very different tastes, which is ok...but still...wow.
Re: These Are The Nintendo Switch's Million-Selling Games
With the success of the deluxe editions, I'm surprised we haven't seen a steady stream of Wii U ports.
