This actually crossed my mind after the complete absence of major 3rd party support from Nintendo's E3. But seriously? Everyone is just going to go to the same shop?
It's stuff like this that makes me wish Nintendo would have released a powerhouse console for twice the current retail price. Heck, I'm pretty sure a lot of us would have still bought it. Or why not both?
So does Fire Emblem Warriors run better in handhold than Hyrule Warriors then? If so, that's pretty much all need to know to finalize my purchasing decision.
The biggest disappointment for me was the lack of a third party presence. I figured Switch sales were strong enough to merit more support. Where was Blizzard? What happened to Bethesda? Did Doom and Skyrim perform so poorly all we could get was a mobile game this time around?
It'll be interesting if the Switch can provide a shot in the arm for these games (Paladins, Arena of Valor, etc.).
I would still prefer to see heavy-hitters like Overwatch make the jump, but if Blizzard decides it can't I suppose there's always Fortnite, which hasn't had issues moving to basically every available platform.
I'm actually entirely fine with having a game like this, targeted at kids. If you don't like it, remember that it's not always about you. A lesson some of us millennials have a hard time with.
I'm only in Chapter 4 (30+ hours in), so this take could be wrong, but I don't get the impression that this game needs more quests.
In fact, I've found myself avoiding side quests because they're very much of the MMO variety: fetch this, fetch that, etc. In short, they do little to enhance the world or story itself and ultimately feel like doing chores. Unless the approach has changed, I'm not sure why more of that would be a desirable thing.
@Whalehome "I loved Doom enough to double dip on switch, but I don’t think I’ll go for this one. I haven’t finished it because the difficulty seems obnoxiously hard at medium. Kinda ruined the fun in playing because of my frequent deaths"
I was right there with you until they released the motion aiming patch. Much more manageable now. That being said, if that's not enough, you can easily notch the difficulty down to easy at any time.
Most of the early negativity revolved around imbalance which required too much grinding. That being said, I understand it's been remedied with patches. Looking forward to playing this.
Games are inching closer to the Netflix equivalent, and I'm totally fine with it as long as they don't require me to be online when playing Super Mario Bros.
Looking for a Switch-centric Smash, which means this would be the opening lineup of my choosing:
1) BotW Link (check) 2) Mario with Cappy 3) Shovel Knight 4) ARMs character 6) Splatoon character 7) Minecraft character 8) Doomguy 9) Bayonetta 10) Rex/Pyra combo from XC2
Adopt the gaming-as-a-service model to ensure the game remains relevant for years to come.
After getting that motion controls update on DOOM, that's basically a requirement for me now when considering shooters for the Switch. The difference is night and day.
They should have combined the highlights of this one with the last direct. This might sound cold, but most of these didn't really need a direct to announce anyway.

Re: Wolfenstein II Developer Says Switch Port Will Have No Compromises
I love Panic Button and all, but c'mon "no compromises" is overstating things quite a bit. Happy to hear we're getting the full game though.

Re: Rumour: Even More Evidence For Fortnite On Switch Arrives In New eShop Server Datamine
This'll put a fork in Paladins for me.
Re: Hellish Sequel Doom Eternal Announced By Bethesda
I'm happy with the Doom we have on Switch. Will likely save this one for PC.
Re: Bethesda's Fallout Shelter Arrives On The Nintendo Switch Today
Yay, more games I didn't bother to download to my Android device

Re: Exclusive: Behind The Scenes On Switch MOBA Arena Of Valor's Audio
Tried it on my phone for a bit. It's impressive, but I definitely think it'll be an improved experience on the Switch. Will definitely try it out!
Re: Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate Hits Switch This August
A little late. This is at the back of my backlog. Maybe I'll get to it, but I'd like to see how it does first. Sound familiar, Capcom?

Was very close to pulling the trigger on Donkey Kong, but I think I'll pick this up and Sonic Mania instead.

Bunch of suits painting rosey pictures with their financials. Nothing to see here.

I'm good with retro. I feel like we have retro. I'd prefer some new games.
Re: Rumour: Did Bethesda Just Tease DOOM 2 For This Year's E3?
It probably won't be announced for Switch, but still excited by this tidbit.
Re: Preview: Getting Funky in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on Switch
If I play this, I'm not ashamed to admit it'll probably be with Funky Kong.

I was hoping for a graphics upgrade for the 60 fps mode, not some optional 30 fps experience
Re: Dragon Quest XI On Switch Will Arrive "Much Later" Than Other Versions
I'll check it out when it's ready. When it comes to the Switch, Square has been a lot of talk and not much else.
Re: Review: Castle of Heart (Switch eShop)
For a group that prided itself for making exclusive games for the Switch, this has got to sting a bit

Re: Funimation Really Wants Goku To Join The Roster In Super Smash Bros
I don't give a crap about DBZ, but I'd be ok with his inclusion. It's not like Smash isn't milking a bunch of commercial entities anyway.
Re: Review: Kirby Star Allies (Switch)
A sluggish 30 fps will definitely bother me. Pass.
