I love my Switch, but running Overwatch or Witcher on it is the equivalent putting a racing fin on a VW Bug and taking it drag racing. Sure it can be done, but that doesn't mean you should.
Usually I'd be for it, but in this case limiting it to just the Switch playerbase is probably a blessing. Overwatch has next to zero on-ramp for new players, and trying to start this game fresh on any of the other platform is like repeatedly slamming your face into concrete. At least that was my experience.
@RasandeRose Don't get me wrong, I get it. I understand it's a handheld. We're going to bring it on our next vacation trip, and it's going to be great for that purpose.
The thing is...I rarely game on the go anymore. It's not like I'm going to whip it out for restroom visits at the office. So it typically stays connected to my tv at home.
What I'm saying is I personally would prefer more power over portability. I recognize I'm probably in the minority here in saying that, but that's still what I think.
If Nintendo made more powerful consoles, I wouldn't feel the need for a second console. Oh well, I guess they got my $ anyway. The thing is, they could have had more of it.
From what I understand, even the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro chug regularly when attempting to run this poorly optimized game. Not sure why they would bring it to Switch.
I really don't understand the venom towards those who complained. I'm going to send all 4 of my joycons in, and just operate off the pro controller while I wait. Regardless of the motivating factor, I'm glad Nintendo chose to go this route.
@Anti-Matter "I wish Mario in Mario Maker can Flying in Happiness, Running in sorrow with Fake tears, Stomping with anger and Delighted with Recovery like Super Princess Peach NDS. The power of Emotions. 😆"
@Jin15 "It's legit, the first games I bought for my Switch were DOOM followed by Sonic Mania Plus."
Raised my eyebrows a bit when I noticed how many people downvoted your comment when you were merely listing the games you purchased. Maybe it was because there were no pure Nintendo offerings, or maybe because your comment didn't conform to their own world view. In any case, people can be drones sometimes. Smash isn't for everyone, and that's okay.
I'm happy for Witcher fans, but I'm not really planning to pick this up anyway. I would rather save my dollars for games that are especially made for the Switch, like Fire Emblem.
We have ratings that already inform consumers. Not sure why SJWs and others feel the need to force their world views across media and into law. Choice is a good thing. If you don't like something, you should vote with your wallet. Way to go, Nintendo.
They all look beautiful. Children of Morta looks like it could be something special, and I'm still curious to see how Northgard converts to Switch as a RTS.
I've been standing pat for a while when it comes to expanding my Switch catalog. Mario Maker 2, Fire Emblem, then Zelda... Heck of a lineup on the way.
Love that Wolfenstein and Doom are continuing to see representation. That being said, it'd be nice to see Fallout 3 or 4 make it's way to the Switch...or even the real Commander Keen games. That mobile version looked horrendous.
@NotTelevision Blizzard actually still supports HOTS. In fact, they just released a new champion. They just chose to ramp down the number of resources and updates they were pumping into the game. The gaming community of course took this as a sign that "it's dying" because if you're not catching up with Fortnite, what's the point, right? I actually really like HOTS and think it's by far the most approachable MOBA available right now.
Tencent is putting out a LOL mobile game anyway. They probably figure it'll be more successful with recognizable characters, so they're letting this one sit as-is in the meantime.

Re: Hades II Post-Launch Patch 1 Preview, Here Are The Full Details
I 100%'d the first game on Xbox. Holding off on this one due to my backlog, but when I eventually pick it up I imagine I'll do the same thing here.
Re: Xbox Reiterates Its Support For Switch 2
I was an Xbox guy for the last two gens. Microsoft absolutely killed any incentive to stick with their ecosystem.
Re: Plants Vs. Zombies: Replanted Has Been Updated, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
A classic, but it's been a staple of my tablet for so long I'm not really targeting this.

Re: Sony's MLB The Show Is No Longer A PlayStation Exclusive
This is making me so happy that I chose Nintendo and Microsoft.
I love baseball. Not having MLB the Show hurt more than any other exclusive. NO MOAR! 😃
Re: Review: Torchlight II - A Brilliant Dungeon-Crawler Expertedly Ported By Panic Button
Fun game, but old game. Guess I'm a little bitter we aren't playing Torchlight 3 by now.

Re: Talking Point: With Overwatch Apparently Switch-Bound, The Future's Bright For Blizzard And Nintendo
Not for me, but still huge news and I'm happy for those that will enjoy it

Re: Feature: Best Nintendo Switch Strategy Games
Darkest Dungeon deserved some love, though it might belong in a different category.
Into the Breach and Civ VI have been my favorite strategy titles on the Switch.
Re: Civilization VI Dev Explains Why Online Multiplayer Wasn't Included In The Switch Version
"Nintendo players can still look forward to the Rise & Fall and Gathering Storm expansions coming to this version of the game later this year."
How was this not the title of the article? Way more relevant to me than multiplayer. It's a Civ game, multiplayer has always been an afterthought.

Re: Soapbox: Sorry Nintendo, Joy-Con Drift Means I Won't Buy Switch Lite At Launch
As much as I love the Switch (probably my fav console of all time), I'm glad this drift issue has become a bigger deal lately

Re: Luigi's Mansion 3 Wins Best Family / Social Game At E3 2019
Kind of ironic that a PS4 game won "best of show" when Sony wasn't even there. Memes are going to have a heyday.

Re: Sega Not Worried About Overwhelming Audiences With Retro Content

That being said, I still need to play Mania. Will probably pick up that before revisiting the classics.

@nessisonett Aw, I loved Redguard
Re: Random: Respawn's New Star Wars Title Is Inspired By Metroid And Dark Souls
Got excited at first, and then I saw this -
NL: "it's already been confirmed the title won't be coming to Nintendo's hybrid system"
😑
NL (paraphrase): "But they're taking some of its inspiration from Metroid, so might as well do an article about it, right?"
😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑
Re: Vampire: The Masquerade Is Getting A New Single-Player Experience On Switch
Ready to bite into this once it releases. Refreshing to see a game focus on story for a change.

Great. Now bring me Madden or a decent baseball game please.
Re: Viking RTS Northgard Lands On Switch Later This Year
I've been meaning to pick this up on PC for a while now. Unless the reviews are outstanding for Switch, I'm still meaning to pick up on PC.
