As regular readers will know, each Saturday we all get together to discuss our weekend gaming plans and see what our fellow community members are up to. This week is a little different, however, with many of us taking a little time away to celebrate the holidays and enjoy time with friends or family, or even taking some much-needed alone time for a bit of peace and quiet.
As such, this week's 'What Are You Playing?' feature is dedicated to the holidays, all wrapped up in a super-special bumper edition. Feel free to read through the Nintendo Life team's entries, and then tell us about your own plans via the poll and comments below. Enjoy!

Christmas eh? What's all that about? Well, for me it'll be mostly tucking into some lovely Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but since it's that time of year when my family gets together, you can be sure I'll be making an exception for something.
That something is the N64. It's not the first console I or my brother (Simon) owned, that honour goes to the SEGA Master System, but the N64 was what we primarily grew up with after Si won it in a competition in the Beano. I mean, I was the one told him that there were actually 30 Party Rings and not 29 like he thought, but it's not like I'm going to bang on about it on a public article or anything.
So we'll be hooking up the old beast and no doubt playing the snot out of things like Mario Kart 64, and perhaps even something like Wetrix, all in gloriously bad 50Hz on a modern flatscreen with significant input lag on composite devices. What else says 'Christmas' more than that?
Speaking of which, here's hoping you all have the most splendid times imaginable this season! Whatever you celebrate, whenever you celebrate it, make it a cracking one for me all right?
Darren Calvert, operations director
As Christmas is a time for spending with the family, I’m sure I’ll be having lots of games of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with my munchkins aged 7 and 10. They’ve been practising tirelessly since it came out on the Switch earlier this month, so I’m sure I will get beaten mercilessly as I resort to button-mashing to survive.
When the wider family come over, I’m sure we’ll be having a few games of Super Mario Party to pass the time with the kids. It’s a lot more fun than Monopoly anyway. I’m hoping we can find time for lots of races together in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also, I’m quietly confident of holding my own in Mario Kart still. After a few laps of Sherbet Land we’ll all be in the festive mood. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!

This Christmas I'll be taking a well-earned break, but that doesn't mean I won't be catching up or completing some of the games I've missed on Nintendo Switch. So I'll be finishing up Manticore: Galaxy on Fire, Attack on Titan 2 and Armello. I'll likely be returning to my two portable loves - Paladins and Warframe - while continuing to shoot hoops and grind for VC in NBA 2K19. I'm nothing if not productive. Merry Christmas, all!

Christmas used to be a time to sit down with something shiny and new, but now it’s my chance to flush the backlog and catch up with things I missed throughout the year – Switch has made that list quite substantial in 2018! So, while I’ll be dipping into Overcooked 2’s free DLC with the family, I’ll hopefully get to chill the beans with Firewatch and ABZU once everyone is snoozing after overindulging on mince pies. I’m also determined to start Wolfenstein II so I can polish off those spoiler-filled GOTY podcasts that have been languishing unplayed on my phone since 2017 before tucking into this year’s editions!
Have a great one everybody!

So I haven't had much chance to play my Switch the past few months, as I've been an absolute heathen and have been mildly addicted to Black Ops 4, Elder Scrolls Online, and Guild Wars 2. I'm going away for Christmas though, so will have my trusty Switch to keep me company.
I've missed a couple of gems that I'd like to dig into, like Pokémon: Let's Go, Warframe, and Hollow Knight. No, I simply don't like Smash Bros. so I won't be playing that – it's just the way it is. No doubt I'll double-dip into Splatoon 2 and stuff like that too.
This is also my last one of these as I'm leaving Nintendo Life in January to pursue a different line of work. I'd like to say a huge thank you to the supportive and lovely staff, and to the readers who make this site and community as awesome as it is. It's been a pleasure writing for you all and I'm sure you'll see my name crop up occasionally as freelance. Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
Gonçalo Lopes, contributing writer
As 2018 comes to an end, you will find me doing the most cliché possible Nintendo thing one would expect: plugging in my SNES Classic and enjoying some sweet retro-gaming sessions for the holidays. The Super Nintendo reminds me of simpler times, exquisite memories, family and friends who are no longer among us. I honour all of those with a big smile from ear to ear you will rarely find among adults nowadays, caused by such simple pleasures as completing The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, finishing F-Zero on Master difficulty, enjoying the soundtrack in Secret of Mana, turning Dracula do dust in Super Castlevania IV or just replaying the ice levels of Donkey Kong Country over and over again. Oh yes, I will also re-watch Die Hard between SNES gaming sessions! Maybe this time Hans gets away with it...
This was yet another incredible year as part of the Nintendo Life crew, one I could never have imagined in my wildest optimistic expectations. I do not know what the future holds in 2019 (hopefully a new F-Zero to go along with Metroid Prime 4), so allow me to take this opportunity to wish YOU, fellow gamer reading these humble words: Happy Holidays, tons of awesome video games, and all the joys this life has to offer.
Liam Doolan, news reporter
This Christmas I intend to play a lot of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!. When I'm not in either of these games, I’ll be attempting to wrap up multiple other titles before 2018 comes to an end. This includes Diablo III: Eternal Collection, Katamari Damacy Reroll and my most recent eShop purchase, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero.
As none of these games are actually Christmas-themed, I’ll have to go elsewhere for my appropriately-themed fix. Maybe Rocket League’s Frosty Fest will be able to help me out. Else I’ll build a snowman in Minecraft.
Ryan Craddock, staff writer
As horrifying as the concept sounds, I'll likely be spending the majority of my Christmas break away from games for once - even working here at the Nintendo Life Factory of Dreams and Magic™ can take its toll after a while. Having said that, I have been working towards unlocking as many Super Smash Bros. Ultimate characters as possible for any potential games with family when I go to visit, so I doubt my gaming break will last for long.
Similarly, I've already planned to pack Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Party, and maybe even Pokémon, Let's Go, Eevee! for the odd multiplayer session (or in Pokémon's case, just to show off my collection). Now that I think about it, it doesn't sound like I'm having a break from gaming at all, does it? Ah well... Happy holidays, everyone!
Steve Bowling, US editor
The holiday means we have a long break ahead and things will be a little quieter than usual. For me, that means it's time to sink my teeth into some of the Switch's more time-consuming games. Over the holiday I'll be playing Octopath Traveler and Valkyria Chronicles 4. I've been curious about Octopath since its reveal and have somehow managed to remain spoiler free so far, but I have a feeling I'll be working on both of these games well into the new year.

Smash and warframe here.
Smash Ultimate and Phantasy Star.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
I've booked holiday and we don't have much planned so I'll be able to get plenty of game time for once.
It's guaranteed that I'll be playing Diablo a lot but I bought Civ 6 the other day so I'll be putting some time into that too.
I plan on giving Smash another go to see if I can get into it this time and then there's Train Sim World on PS4 which is bound to get a good few hours over the next week.
My mum loves Mario Kart so will be taking that up when I visit at new year, but will more than likely be going through Diablo, Harvest Moon, Football Manager 19 and Pokemon
I don't celebrate, so there's that.
on the 25th, I'll probably just be playing Smash Ultimate just like I have been since December 7th.
Smash, Mario Kart 8, Splatoon 2 & Mario Party for Nintendo, with a light sprinkling of Human Fall Flat on PC & Halo 5 on Xbox One.
For Christmas I’m getting Smash so I’ll be playing that until next Christmas nonstop.
If I've been a good little boy I'll be getting Pokemon for Christmas. Other than that I've decided to go back and hunt down the last few Moons in Mario Odyssey
1. Animal Crossing New Leaf (3DS)
Playing my first town, Neptune. I can't believe I still play ACNL until today since 5 years ago.
My cartridge sticker looked a bit yellowish on the top due to be inserted inside my 3DS XL frequently.
BTW, take a look my gaming time since 5 years ago.
2. ARMS (Switch)
Joining in Party Crash Event as Max Brass. 😎💪
See you Glen! (@FoxyGlen)
Thanks for all you have contributed to this site and all the best for the future!
My son and I will likely be utilising your Pokemon Let’s Go guides after Christmas (which is what we’ll be playing this Christmas). So you’ll live on here.
Probably won’t be much time for gaming, but hopefully a little bit of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as well as giving my christmas present, Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, a spin.
I am mostly playing through phantasy Star series for the first time (absolutely loved the first one and I am currently missing one character on the second. So far I feel the second is not as good as the first but I am enjoying it. And I am afraid of third as I heard a lot of bad things about it)
I will be getting some time into smash (I never played smash before and I in general don't care about fighting games nowadays but a few mates at the office got switches for it and I will try to get into it for some multiplayer action)
I will be playing Youtube app this Xmas. Long haul playing videos of people streaming games so I don't have to waste time playing them.
My most played Switch titles are Civ6, Cities Skylines, but there're so much more great games on other platforms, especially Wii U, PS3 & 3DS, my backlog should be reduced.
I'll be working this Christmas. Too bad, but I'll have a lot more time for family and games before and after new year.
Forza Motorsport 7 !
i will probably be mainly playing my new ukulele thought it was time for an upgrade my mom helped me out getting it
I’m getting Smash and Katamari, so I’m really looking forward to those.
I’m tempted to download Into The Breach too.
Into the Breach and Diablo!
I will also play my SNES classic for nice memories of the past but I also have the Switch Mega Drive collection to play as well. Plus Smash Bros Ultimate.
To play over the next week:
Mark of the Ninja Remastered
Okami
Shantae: Half-genie Hero
LA Noire
Captain Toad
Hollow Knight
Yay!
Mario + rabbids!
I started Crash Bandicoot the other day, so I’ll be playing that. I’ve never played a Crash game before, and I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I’m enjoying it!
I've been enjoying me some Dragon Quest XI.
Smash, Skyrim, Breath of the Wild, and some other games.
Smash on Xmas day, still trying to conquer the world in Civ 6. Still need to complete Dragon Quest Builders, need to start Skyrim and that’s before anything I pick up in the sales!
Splatoon 2, Puyo Puyo Tetris and one of Steamworld Dig 2 or Hyper Light Drifter. I've owned both since they released but they've just lay in my backlog unplayed. Can't decide which one to play first. I've been slowly working my way through my enormous backlog and catching up on past titles I've missed, like Golf Story which I absolutely loved.
Diablo and smash
Mario Kart 8 deluxe is still the most played game that hasn’t only just been released.
We're halfway through a ten-day road trip, currently spending a few days in New Orleans. My Switch is with me but hasn't seen a lot of play. Mostly playing R-Type Dimensions and a few Dead Cells runs.
I'll be opening my present that I am 99% sure it's Super Smash Bros Ultimate but while waiting for that, I'll be playing Breath of the Wild, Super SMash Bros melee, and Paper Mario and the thousand year door. And some Mario odyssey.
@JoeDiddley well worth it, Into The Breach is amazing. It seems infinitely playable
Some Smash Ultimate and Mega Man 11 but mostly XB1 stuff as I already have over 1100 spirits in Smash Ultimate and its online is still poor.
I’ll be playing more Horizon Chase Turbo, it’s got that ‘just one more go’ trick down to a tee. I can’t stop, love it!
I'm going to play BOTW on Christmas morning at 5AM while I wait for the rest of my family to wake up.
I will be playing kirby star allies and pokemon let's go pikachu.
Hopefully finish Okami HD then back onto Smash - or even back onto Splatoon 2 to finish that single player mode which I've kept putting off...
Smash, V-rally 4, Gear club U2, FIFA19 and Cities Skylines will always be around for shorter play-sessions, but I plan on finishing Torna. After that I'll hopefully treat myself with a runthrough of Firewatch and then Guacameele 2 if time hasn't run out!
SEGA AGES Outrun and Oxygen Not Included
I'm almost done with World of Light, assuming the campaign isn't gonna have another twist revealing another 4 hours of overstaying its welcome! Considering I can only see 2 captive fighters on the assumed final map, and my roster is missing 4, I see that as a legitimate possibility.
If I do manage to beat it before Christmas, I'll likely be going back to Spider-Man to try out that DLC I've been missing out on.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate, getting in a few online matches. I’m gonna try to squeeze in some Mario Tennis Aces, and SNK Heroines as well. I will be playing SNK Arcade collection and the Monster Hunter game when Christmas gets here.
Octopath Traveler. It has the best looking snow in the gaming business.
Smash and jogging in the park
My brother-in-law is getting a Switch for xmas and a copy of Smash, which means I finally need to purchase Smash so I can establish my dominance.
Apart from that, I’ve been loving Hyper Light Drifter and Skyrim.
I get a week off from xmas to New Year’s and I plan on getting to all of my backlist: Dark Souls, The Messenger, Hollow Knight, Yooka Laylee... plus more Mario Odyssey Moons, and maybe even back to Zelda... I’ve been stuck at 114 shrines for months!!
Happy gaming y’all, and happy and safe holidays to everyone. Be good to each other.
And thank you NintendoLife staff for giving us great games coverage and providing a (mostly) nontoxic forum for discussing the things we love. Cheers!
Smash, TWEWY, Okami, Octopath and Great Ace Attorney will probably soak up most of my time. Nearing the end of Great Ace Attorney, somewhat established in Octopath and TWEWY (but nowhere near completion) and haven’t even touched Okami. Then I’ve got another pile of video games waiting for me when I get back home. Eep!
This will possibly be the first Christmas where I wish for no more games!
Just finished Firewatch about 5 minutes ago. Definitely gonna play most Smash, gotta finish unlocking all the characters. Got my physical copy of Katamari in the mail (it just came out in Japan, but yay physical copy!) it should be here tomorrow. Always play some Hearthstone on occasion. Going to see my buddy after Christmas and we're gonna Mario Party and Smash. Some Stardew Valley too.
Between the actual holidays and my requested time off, I got a nice, solid 2 full weeks off! Not going back to work until January 7th!
So Probably gonna start playing Either Diablo 3 or The World Ends with You, both of which have been sitting on my table for about a month or so.
I need to pick Okami and Valkaria Chronicles 4 back up too. Left both unfinished...
Smash of course and a handful of others in between. Been tempted to take on a brief atmospheric journey and I have a little eshop credit, not sure if I should take the plunge in abzu or go adventuring in firewatch. Any recommendations?
I'm traveling again, so as usual, my 3DS is on the road with me while my Switch stays at home. I'm determined to finally beat SMT IV Apocalypse, and I'm rediscovering how fun Culdcept Revolt can be.
After nearly 100 hours in just over two weeks, Smash has finally just become another game in my library, freeing me up to play other things. I’ve dabbled In Fortnite’s season 7 and I’ve even picked up my 3DS and restarted Codename STEAM, a game I’ve been wanting to finish for a long time now.
Discounted starlink for me!
Also smash and katamari!
Dozens of games on me NES & SNES minis
Got Yokus Island and Owlboy to start. But seriously considering dropping the digital dollars for Monster Boy as well.
Planning on finishing Dark Souls in the next week or so. Waiting to start Hollow Knight soon but I might change the pace a bit and go for Banner Saga first.
Having the annual Best Friends Christmas Bacon Breakfast tomorrow, so there will be presents and laughter. Followed by cursing and tears, as we tear into each other in Smash.
After kids open presents and are playing with them... I'll sit down and play Xenoblade Chronicles 2!
This week I will be mostly playing Smash, with a bit of Pokémon SoulSilver
It's a Smash Bros Christmas!
@NintendoFan4Lyf , beat them on my 7 try without summining. Too bad Smough died last. I am so deep into this game it is not healthy anymore. Got Smash and Starlink on backlog and Diablo on snooze mode for now. Eshop sale only added more games as i finally got Octopath and Rayman (ok this one for my son but he loves to play couch coop). Tempted to get Civ VI too but i amnalready sleep deprived as it is
My nephew is getting a lot of games for Christmas, and I'm sure he'll want to play with me... which means Skylander Imaginators and Pokemon Let's Go! Eevee (everything else is on 3DS).
Personally, I'll continue working through Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice on 3DS, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on Switch, Tetris Effect on PS4 annnnnnnnd... I'm thinking about starting up my PS1 copy of FF9. I dug out my PS1 and everything (playing on PS2 is fine, but I want that genuine PS1 experience, y'know?).
@CdrJameson I’ve never played any farming, train, flying or other similar sims, and I’ve always wondered who these games were really for. How do you feel train sims or other similar titles compare to other games? I’m looking for your own personal opinion as to which games you’d prefer less to play than a train sim.
Honestly, I’m not making fun or anything, I’m just curious
Some brawlhalla until Xmas arrives ( or should i say, smash arrives). Maybe splatoon, Rayman legends, and Ive got 2 dungeons left in Oracle of seasons.Merry Christmas to everyone and happy New year
Smash (if I don’t get it as a present, I’ll be using pressie money to get it!)
World of Final Fantasy
Gris
And even though I’ll try not to I bet I’ll manage to fit in some Stardew Valley, like I always do.
Not a lot as far as Nintendo's concerned; mostly Final Fantasy XIV and Earth Defense Force 5, and something I can beat quick (thinking Far Cry Blood Dragon) so I can round out my game clear count for the year at 50.
Obviously, Christmas is a great time to play some local multiplayer with friends and my family, so i'm looking forward to playing Mario Party/Tennis/Kart, Bomberman, Worms and so on.
I'm also playing RXN -Raijin- again these days, i'll get Play-Asia's limited edition for Christmas.
As with a lot of people here, I'll be playing Smash on Switch.
Over on PS4 I'll be playing Titanfall 2 (on the chance I complete it, I'll start up on DQXI).
@sikthvash what's Halo like nowadays? We stopped playing after reach and I heard the next game didnt have local offline and forge??
Okami HD on Switch.
After unlocking all characters in Smash Ultimate and finishing World of Light once, the buzz has worn off. Gonna jump back into Starlink and possibly get Diablo 3 over the holiday and put some time into that.
Starting every character's chapter 4 in Octopath Traveler and Fitness Boxing Demo.
Depends what I get
Katamari Damacy, Nefarious and likely some Mario Tennis online.
Just picked up Nefarious for 5 bucks, so prett excited to finally play a game I've been watching develop the last 2 years (backed like 2 bucks just to keep an eye on it).
@thesilverbrick How do you find time to play nearly 100 hours in two weeks?😮
Splatoon 2, Smash and I just got Bendy and the Ink Machine as a gift, so that’s what I’ll primarily play. Happy holidays to everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful time with friends and family.
Well, away from home. So
1. Starlink on my Switch on the trip there
2. Madden NFL cousins Christmas match-ups once we all start to show up
🙂
Tanglewood for the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive. There's a copy all wrapped up and sitting under the tree just waiting to be opened and played. =) Until then it's Contra: Hard Corps and Rocket Knight Adventures.
BREATH OF THE WILD AGAIN!!!❤️
Christmas smash bros is actually the best part of my Christmas. But I should return to Diablo, Dead Cells or downloading the messenger. But maaaan I just can't close smash bros, there's always one last fight and another one and another one....
Much of my 4-day break will be spent celebrating Christmas with family, but I will be shoving in some gaming. Unfortunately I'm the oddball as far as games go, so no local multiplayer here. Instead, I'll be playing some Majora's Mask 3D on the 3DS front. On the Wii U, I'll likely end up starting Super Paper Mario.
Have a safe, blessed holiday season everyone!
I'm loving the Katamari love in the comments! I'm out of school for a few weeks so I'm playing the heck out of Smash and Katamari Damacy Reroll. On my PS4, I want to finish up Spider-Man, Darksiders III, and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep.
Smash Ultimate with my brother. Maybe some Everspace as well. But mostly Smash.
@Anti-Matter Holy moly, that's like twice the amount of time I've logged into Fire Emblem Awakening!
I’m still stuck on Pubg mobile for the last 7 months
@FoxyGlen: Happy trails friend! Good luck with your career change, and don't be a stranger here!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!
@DABYX Really good actually - I don't bother with the campaign, but the multiplayer maps and modes are the best since Halo Reach. They continually add new community made maps too for modes like Zombies. Halo 5 Forge is also available for PC which is great as it's far easier to snap maps to together with a mouse & keyboard.
Valkyria Chronicles 4
I got Super Smash Ultimate for the kids for Christmas, so I assume we'll be playing LOADS of that, alongside the usual Fortnite grind. I'll also be jumping back into my Wii U for a few Kirby games and Nintendo Land. That game is still $$$ with family : )
Grimm Fandango Remastered
@sikthvash Nice sounds like it's back on track!
Just finished Let's go Eevee so I will be playing the other Pokemon game on switch - World of Final fantasy. About 7 hours in and loving it so far.
Mainly just smash. I was playing it with my wife which was tons of fun but I think she’s bored now so I’ll prob just work my way through world of light.
Shame online is unplayable...
Finally got Dark Souls.
smash, eevee, retro switch games like atari, snk, sega, namco, neo geo & arcade archives
@Sinton By missing out on a lot of sleep. I’m not proud of it.
Been playing quite a but of Smash unsurprisingly. But I need to go and finally beat Let's Go Eevee, and I've also been slowly tackling Doom which I bought during the black Friday sale. Still, all of this has kind of taken a back seat to my decision to replay Fire Emblem Path of Radiance. An amazing game that deserves some kind of second chance.
SSBU, Mighty Gunvolt Burst, MK8 DX, XC2, and Splatoon 2. I may even try to get in some Stardew Valley. 5 day weekends are the best.
More Smash as usual! World of Light is getting even better as I chug along!
I’m picking up a physical copy of Katamari Damacy REROLL at GameStop later today; I played the demo and enjoyed it!
For Christmas on Tuesday I’m getting Pokémon: Let’s Go! Eevee and Starlink, and on Wednesday I’m getting an NES Classic!
I also picked up Donut County and have been enjoying that. It’s very quirky and very fun.
Everyone have a safe, blessed, merry Christmas! 😃 Make sure you spend lots of time with those you love, and stay safe traveling!
Smash Ultimate, StarLink, Super Metroid, Super Mario Bros 3, Warframe, Pokemon Lets Go, Donkey Kong Country, Zen Pinball FX3, Black Bird, Runner 3, Sonic Mania and Super Mario Odyssey have all been getting some play through the days up to Christmas, all of which are fantastic titles it's been a phenomenal year for gaming .
@OorWullie I have recently played both of your “up next” games and if you are open to recommendations I would 100% recommend steam world dig 2! You can beat it in a couple days and it is a great “chill” experience. Can’t go wrong with either though
Only Super Smash bros ultimate!
I’ve got Moonlighter and Starlink coming for Christmas so I’ll be playing with them, and Smash 😜
I'll primarily be playing my usual Smash Ultimate and Zelda BoTW, with a dash of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for good measure. I'll be showing my cousin my Switch and he's into retro stuff so probably dabbling with some of the arcade downloads and retro compilations.
And, rumor has it I'm getting Starlink Battle for Atlas under the tree. 😉
Due to many Holiday sales, I have a mountain of great games to choose from. For Switch, I’ll dabble in Smash, Guacamelee 2 and Okami. I also just received my physical Switch copy of Yooka Laylee from Limited Run Games. Otherwise, I’ll be playing Astrobot VR, NBA 2k19, Devil May Cry 5 demo, Hitman, Horizon Zero Dawn, and maybe others.
Been taken to the cleaners by the final boss in Octopath Traveler twice now - though I felt pretty close the second time, and feel confident of finishing this off next time. Strategy all sorted. That means I will get to play something new - yay! Let’s Go Pikachu is under the tree for my kids, so I’ll play that, but I will also take on Dark Souls and Smash - both for the first time ever. Merry Christmas, or happy whatever holidays you choose to celebrate, everyone!
Ultimate,
Octopath,
Katamari
I'll be playing Smash primarily. Will probably hop online for a few races in Mario Kart at some point. Maybe Undertale as well. My family isn't much into games, so I'll be playing solo whenever I get a chance.
Monster Boy
Hyper Light Drifter
Capcom Belt Action Collection
Bayonetta 2
@NintendoFan4Lyf better drops from what i heard. I was just happy i stayed alive . From a boss fight point of view, smough is slow so his attacks are easier to doge when he remains last but Ornstein can be blocked relatively easy when left as last. I should hate this game for letting me die so often but every little progress is a victory that keeps me going.
Ps. I have no clue on how online works (yet) but i am happy to help you if it is possible to summon me for the fight.
I’m on vacation in Hawaii so not doing much gaming. Didn’t even bring my Switch but I did bring my 3DS so playing a bit of Pokémon Ultra Sun here and there.
Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you all get the games you wanted. Will be playing Disgaea 1 and hopefully Pokemon Let's Go as I see thats been discounted.
Hopefully a beautiful east Asian woman will visit me personally on Christmas out of the blue whilst I sleep. Otherwise I am content.
I'm mostly playing fortnite and horizon. I really like both, to be honest. Next stop on switch will probably be travis strikes again.
I’ve been diving back into Animal Crossing: New Leaf in preparation for Toy Day, my Animal Crossing Christmas Eve tradition for the last decade at least. I’ll also continue to play Smash solo and with friends as well as hopefully some Super Mario Party and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe time.
I recently came into possession of a lot of money, and didn't have a Switch until like a month ago, and this one eBay seller was selling a ton of Switch games for 35% off. ... I'll be playing everything this Christmas. O.O (But of what I've gotten around to playing, SSBU, Fire Emblem Warriors, and Xenoblade 2 have eaten the most of my time.)
SSBU and Monster Boy.
Aside from Smash Ultimate and Hollow Knight, which I chose above, I'll probably be trying to beat Sonic Mania Plus, Castlevania II on my NESClassic, and finishing Zelda OoT on my N64 for what feels like the tenth time.
Smash getting it for christmas. I got monster boy too but I am on a stupidly hard bit with the lion character.
Octopath Traveler and Diablo 3 for me.
Gris is cued up and ready. I’d love to finish Wolfenstein 2 and then I will treat myself to a new game for the time between Xmas and nye. Might have to be Skyrim . Even though I have it on the Xbox...
Or a couple of indies - I see Shantae mentioned , that’s been on the list for a while. Otherwise just a puzzle or something chilled out.
Anyway - happy Xmas all!!
@Dayton311 Cheers. I just started it earlier and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Loved the original, it was the first game I completed on Wii U. The sequel looks to be even better.
Finally got around to buying Splatoon (yes, the first one), and will probably be playing it through the holiday. If I am not playing that, I will be messing around with Hyrule Warriors because it is always good for mindless fun.
Smash Ultimate for the most part, but I also brought Tomodachi Life out of storage and popped that into the 3DS, wonder if we're gonna see another one of these at some point
Definitely playing Let’s Go but once Christmas Day has come and the kids have opened their presents we will be playing Kirby Star Allies, SSBU, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Paw Patrol and Just Dance 2019. Maybe also play some ACNL and Ultra Moon.
Merry Christmas everyone
I will tell you one game I'm not playing, Smash. Game sucks bad for new players!
Ultimate and Perfect Dark (N64).
Merry Christmas!
V-Rally 4 and Fate/Extella.
Also started Sundered, which is pretty cool. Love the art style.
Ended up starting Metroid on my NES Mini.
Merry Christmas!
Valkyria Chronicles 4 and Super Mario Odyssey for sure. Possibly some Hollow Knight, Wolfenstein 2, Rocket League, and Mario + Rabbids kingdom battle.
My gaming time comes when my five-month-old is sleeping and/or my wife is sleeping, and I’m foolishly awake.
On Switch, bouncing between Diablo III, Starlink, Celeste, Steamworld Heist, and maybe starting Undertale. Also thinking about picking up Moonlighter on sale. And I might be getting Smash for Christmas...
In the wee hours of the night (like tonight) or when I’m somehow alone at home, I’m finishing RDR2 on PS4 and starting Hitman 2 on XB1.
Smash Ultimate, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom, Battle Princess Madelyn, and the Streets of Rage trilogy on the Sega Genesis Classic collection.
Fallout 3 (Games For Windows) - Still working on a Let's Play
What in the World? (Windows Phone) - Almost done...
Rayman Origins (3DS) - Having a blast in the desert.
While I have many of the games listed, most of which I've barely dabbled in, my gaming time this Christmas will be primarily, if not wholly, devoted to MHGU.
Alex, I love you forever for mentioning Wetrix. Now there's a game that deserves a sequel on Switch.
Well be playing the Capcom beat email up collection and Sega mega drive classics golden axe and streets of rage tonight. Already clocked streets of rage 1 yesterday with my brother in-law, next we are going to continue our save game of Warriors of Fate!
I just got myself a limited edition Metal Slime New 2DS LL from a local hobby and toys shop and it came with Dragon Quest XI-this game is awesome-and I am going to be playing Buddyfight on it! And I just ordered Digimon Appmon and Medabots 9 Rokusho!
Smash and Civ VI
The super christmassy DK Tropical Freeze
I'll be playing Steamworld Dig 2, Civ 6 and Octopath. Will hopefully pick up Smash as well!
Not sure if I'm getting any games for xmas, but I'll probably find myself unabke to resist the sales. I've only just started Odyssey and mario bros 3, and still playing warframe, pinball fx3, enter the gungeon so should have plenty to do! I think santa may be delivering Lets Go Pikachu to my son, so may not get that much Switch time by myself!
Have a good one everyone!
For me since I actually have a little time off it'll be Super Smash Bros, Let's Go Eevee and some Bayonetta 2
