Tried it on Xbox Series X and it's the same as the 2 previous games, but with some new gameplay elements. I'm glad it is because I really enjoyed the previous ones and will most likely get this one. Good old platforming that is fun. Runs very well.
@GCBB I ended up buying it directly from Ubisoft since they had a sale and a 20% discount on top of that. Came out pretty "cheap" for the Gold edition.
Sonic Crossworlds demo was really poor (Xbox and Switch 2) because of the driving. If they can improve the driving to match an actual racer like Mario Kart rather than an arcade-only game, then it will be a blast and possibly equal to or better than Mario Kart.
It just feels really bad and low quality.
Can't wait for games to actually make use of mouse mode. I'm hoping some FPS or adventure games where aiming is required (Hogwarts, etc.) will make use of that.
@Yosher Lots of Nintendo games, those aimed at 1 player, have boring co-op. I wish they'd do a bigger effort. Even my children do not want to play like that in many of their games.
@OmnitronVariant I was thinking about that and wanted to reply here about how CRTs/old TVs behaved differently with low FPS. I was about to state that it's potentially due to the old screens compared to the new ones we have now, where having 60 is vastly superior.
Thanks for confirming it .
I tried the demo on Xbox Series X and it was great. High FPS, no issues. Excited for the full game since I loved the first one (first two actually but referring to the 3D platformer one). I'll skip the Switch 2 version then, simple.
You know, Nintendo keeps doing things that make me go "ok, I'll just get it on Steam/Xbox/GOG/laptop". Their loss. Obviously, exclusives must be purchased on Switch 2, but the rest, what's the point if it runs worse or is more expensive?
I honestly don't understand how others found the demo/test amazing.
I played it on both Switch 2 and Series X (way better on Series X).
The gameplay or at least the maps seem like it can be fun but the way they drive/handle is badly done. Poorly made. So much that I won't be buying this. Mario Kart (any of them) is way superior. Even the Nickelodeon one is superior.
Sonic All Stars Transformed was way better. It actually feels like they are separate teams working on this.
I'm actually really saddened by this as I was really looking forward to having a remake of Transformed or a new one similar to it. I am still hoping the test was to gather our feedback and that they'd fix the handling and driving.
Played it all, 100% if I recall completely, on Xbox Series X. Game Pass, to be precise. I do want to buy it but I'll wait for the DLC and buy both together.
Super fun game. Addicting. One of those games where you just don't want to play anything else since this one is so easy to start and play (Quick Resume really helps with that on Xbox) that you just feel like resuming it. Not being a chore to play really helps.
@Serpenterror Astro Bot ... And some other exclusives I guess. I don't have a PS5 since I don't see the need for it when I have an Xbox Series X and Switch 2 and laptop, but would love to play those one day.
Now that I look at the trailer, the game feels a bit too "dark" and lonely. I know Metroid always has that lonely feeling, which I don't like, but some were brighter and not so dark feeling.
Watching it again now, this is reminding me Dragon Ball Daima. Japanese people.. always copying each other in different ways, yet making new unique elements.
@tourjeff A lot of their Switch games felt abandoned unfortunately.. Not all though. Aces is fun, Mario Golf Super Rush as well. Switch Sports can be fun but they need to add more to it.
I'm not liking what they're doing though. Charge full price for games, not a lot of content, then launch another one in a few years. I'm not going to support that anymore.
Their lack of patches/content updates is shocking considering most companies are now adding lots of content post-launch and are surpassing Nintendo (have surpassed actually).
Happy to see fun multiplayer co-op content! It will improve this game.
I didn't really like the main game, unfortunately. It was okay in single player. Didn't like it in multiplayer. I found it strange and not as fun as New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe (can never remember the full name of this), which is way more fun.
That talking flower freaks me out for some reason. Its voice as well.
I think maybe it freaks me out due to its voice. It sounds like a human adult's voice rather than a cartoon character.
I'm also freaked out by the fact that they're adding that flower in Mario Tennis Fever.
@PlushiePlushie I would get it too but it doesn't have a 3.5mm headphone jack which is bothering me lol. That's the only thing missing. I do have hace the Pro Controller 2. I always use the headphone jack.
@Pillowpants that's because the demo showcases a different part of the game and doesn't start from the beginning. It's a really good game. Ubisoft ensures that it's AAA quality and the rest is fun gameplay.
I need the demo now to decide if I go for the much superior PC version or Switch 2 (thanks to portability and motion, otherwise I'd consider the superior Series X version).
I hope their "later this year" means 2 weeks.
The demo already exists on other platforms. I tried it. I even rented the full game on Series X from the library but decided I want to buy it after playing a few hours.
The game seems amazing.
I personally don't mind signing in since I have Ubisoft Connect everywhere and I have coins (points) in there thanks to playing their games, which gives free in-game items for any of their games, etc., and even 20% off any game on their website if you reach 100 coins.
I like the way they did it though. You download their app (Xbox, etc.), and sign in there. From now on, any game you play on that console, you're automatically signed in.
@roy130390 Nintendo deserves it though. It's entirely their fault they took 4 years to launch this way too late. Soooo many games were launched since then that should have been launched on the S2 but instead I got them on the Series X or laptop due to inferior and really poor performance of the Switch 1.
This game should never have been launched on the Switch 1 since S1 had 2 Mario Party games already.
It should have been launched on the Switch 2 with S2 graphics. Having the non-TV version lower res on the Switch 2 isn't normal for us who paid for the upgrade.
That first changelog point is really confusing and I don't understand it. Did they miss adding the word Switch 1 in there?
Tried it on both Switch 2 and Xbox Series X. Obviously better on Series X. I really hope that's the Switch 1 version, otherwise, it looks terrible and runs poorly with lower framerate. I would prefer getting it on the Xbox either way since it's a superior machine.
Anyways, sadly, the gameplay isn't the best. The driving is poor and feels like an arcade game. Transformed was way better and I always hope they can relaunch that game in a "definitive edition" with improved graphics and such.
Shocking how people are saying this is better than Mario Kart World. They almost sound like they're paid. Yes, this game has some nice elements but the way it plays is poor. I really, really hope they delay the launch of this and improve the way it drives/plays. Otherwise, it feels geared at children and not that fun. Too bad, was really looking forward to this.
@Davestator Lol! I did the same! I rented it from the library here in Canada, played it, and finished it. I ended up buying it second hand a year later as it's too good. Now, I'll buy this DLC from the Amazon Japan site for a lower price.
It only looks a bit better, obviously smoother, and of course sharper due to resolution bump. I'm not sure if they added AA or not, but, I was hoping for a bit more. Maybe some more details, more grass here and there, etc., especially since they're charging for this, and quite a lot (29.99 here in Canada).
This is the definitive way to play this and how it should have been in the beginning but it unfortunately was out on the rubbish Switch 1 first. Glad we're done with that now but the price should be half due to only 12 extra levels.
We really need Switch 2 updates (free) for all of them. Xenoblade Chronicles 1, 2, 3 and X. It would be shameful if they left those as they are, especially 3 and X.
@Paulo It's a sad thought but a real one and one that Nintendo does not care about. Otherwise, docked mode would have been twice or three times the performance while undocked would have been like now. They did not care to do that, unfortunately, so we must keep using other consoles or PC.
I don't understand why these companies are not adding a headphone jack. They add lots of features but omit that. No thanks.
The GameSir G7 HE for Xbox has everything plus the 3.5mm port.
Nothing so far for the Switch 2/Switch 1 apart from the Pro Controller 2, which is great of course.
@DennyCrane Same with Mario Strikers Switch. They allowed that game to be published without adding more features, fun maps, etc., and really ruined it for us who were waiting for this since the awesome GameCube one.
@Oldstalk They said updated graphics and frame rate for the main game. I wonder why they said main game. Now I'm skeptical if it's the whole game or not lol.
@Jack_Goetz Oh nice. I thought that they had some games that perhaps the software only had Japanese in there and then they would sell the worldwide version with more languages, but good to know they should all support English.

@SplatRay001 Because they're showcasing another part of the game and not the beginning. It's a customised demo.

@The_Nintendo_Pedant Same here. I sometimes wait a few years. I learned patience many years ago . It is necessary in this world.
Re: Review: Yooka-Replaylee (Switch 2) - Feels Like The Game It Was Meant To Be, Finally
@Anti-Matter Same but Xbox Series X.
Re: Review: Yooka-Replaylee (Switch 2) - Feels Like The Game It Was Meant To Be, Finally
@John_Deacon I believe it has to do with the dev kit situation so I don't think that it's Playtonic's fault but Nintendo's.
Re: Opinion: Sonic Racing Crossworlds > Mario Kart World, And It's Not Even Close For Me
Sonic Crossworlds demo was really poor (Xbox and Switch 2) because of the driving. If they can improve the driving to match an actual racer like Mario Kart rather than an arcade-only game, then it will be a blast and possibly equal to or better than Mario Kart.

@AgentGuapo and a headphone jack.

@Ultimapunch One of the best games ever to be honest. Of course, not about story but about gameplay. It's just so fun and replayable.

@HalBailman Does it have mouse controls (no one mentioned that ). Not gyro, but mouse with Joy-Con 2.

The one on Series X is very sharp.
