I need the demo now to decide if I go for the much superior PC version or Switch 2 (thanks to portability and motion, otherwise I'd consider the superior Series X version).
I hope their "later this year" means 2 weeks.
The demo already exists on other platforms. I tried it. I even rented the full game on Series X from the library but decided I want to buy it after playing a few hours.
The game seems amazing.
I personally don't mind signing in since I have Ubisoft Connect everywhere and I have coins (points) in there thanks to playing their games, which gives free in-game items for any of their games, etc., and even 20% off any game on their website if you reach 100 coins.
I like the way they did it though. You download their app (Xbox, etc.), and sign in there. From now on, any game you play on that console, you're automatically signed in.
@roy130390 Nintendo deserves it though. It's entirely their fault they took 4 years to launch this way too late. Soooo many games were launched since then that should have been launched on the S2 but instead I got them on the Series X or laptop due to inferior and really poor performance of the Switch 1.
This game should never have been launched on the Switch 1 since S1 had 2 Mario Party games already.
It should have been launched on the Switch 2 with S2 graphics. Having the non-TV version lower res on the Switch 2 isn't normal for us who paid for the upgrade.
That first changelog point is really confusing and I don't understand it. Did they miss adding the word Switch 1 in there?
Tried it on both Switch 2 and Xbox Series X. Obviously better on Series X. I really hope that's the Switch 1 version, otherwise, it looks terrible and runs poorly with lower framerate. I would prefer getting it on the Xbox either way since it's a superior machine.
Anyways, sadly, the gameplay isn't the best. The driving is poor and feels like an arcade game. Transformed was way better and I always hope they can relaunch that game in a "definitive edition" with improved graphics and such.
Shocking how people are saying this is better than Mario Kart World. They almost sound like they're paid. Yes, this game has some nice elements but the way it plays is poor. I really, really hope they delay the launch of this and improve the way it drives/plays. Otherwise, it feels geared at children and not that fun. Too bad, was really looking forward to this.
@Davestator Lol! I did the same! I rented it from the library here in Canada, played it, and finished it. I ended up buying it second hand a year later as it's too good. Now, I'll buy this DLC from the Amazon Japan site for a lower price.
It only looks a bit better, obviously smoother, and of course sharper due to resolution bump. I'm not sure if they added AA or not, but, I was hoping for a bit more. Maybe some more details, more grass here and there, etc., especially since they're charging for this, and quite a lot (29.99 here in Canada).
This is the definitive way to play this and how it should have been in the beginning but it unfortunately was out on the rubbish Switch 1 first. Glad we're done with that now but the price should be half due to only 12 extra levels.
We really need Switch 2 updates (free) for all of them. Xenoblade Chronicles 1, 2, 3 and X. It would be shameful if they left those as they are, especially 3 and X.
@Paulo It's a sad thought but a real one and one that Nintendo does not care about. Otherwise, docked mode would have been twice or three times the performance while undocked would have been like now. They did not care to do that, unfortunately, so we must keep using other consoles or PC.
I don't understand why these companies are not adding a headphone jack. They add lots of features but omit that. No thanks.
The GameSir G7 HE for Xbox has everything plus the 3.5mm port.
Nothing so far for the Switch 2/Switch 1 apart from the Pro Controller 2, which is great of course.
@DennyCrane Same with Mario Strikers Switch. They allowed that game to be published without adding more features, fun maps, etc., and really ruined it for us who were waiting for this since the awesome GameCube one.
@Oldstalk They said updated graphics and frame rate for the main game. I wonder why they said main game. Now I'm skeptical if it's the whole game or not lol.
@Jack_Goetz Oh nice. I thought that they had some games that perhaps the software only had Japanese in there and then they would sell the worldwide version with more languages, but good to know they should all support English.
This game's awesome and really fun, especially after all the updates. They fixed it all up and it's great. Lots of things to do, lovely graphics, world, UI. Very sad to hear they're cancelling the sequel =(. Hope they change their mind.
The big problem is that they are a huge company with lots of employees so millions of game sales isn't always enough for them, plus greed. They need to reduce their size and they'd be better off.
@Doctor-Moo And The Crew series also (I have them all), but the issue is the lack of analog triggers on the Switch 2, arg... Frustrating how shortsighted Nintendo is.
@Suketoudara - Ah.. I didn't know. I recall only hearing that they'll launch the Switch 2 with limited units in June, then next batch in October, but it seems I misunderstood the whole point as they keep launching more units here in Canada.
It's really a shame because I'm going to keep buying games on the Xbox Series X then for non-exclusives (and for when they run better on Xbox) over Switch 2. Their loss for taking their time. They're always too careful. So many games I'd like to play from the Switch 1 days but I am waiting for (free) updates.
I'm getting equally frustrated seeing the number of devs saying "we want to fix it but Nintendo did not send us a dev kit yet". I really want to know what's going on with that? Is it an unfortunate delay or is it on purpose?
@Jack_Goetz I did the whole thing, paid and got a game to test from Amazon Japan (Welcome Tour), got the code, but when I try to change my region/country, it says that since I have funds, I cannot change my region! Ah . I'm also maxed out on funds lol so I have about 325 CAD in there and now I'm forced to spend them all before being able to redeem this lol!
The link you shared to change the address doesn't have any address change setting. I found that in https://accounts.nintendo.com/ - is that what you meant?
@Spider-Kev I said the same though it's 99 CAD here in Canada! Quite overpriced. Should be 79.99 CAD.
However, I had one immature person mock what I said here on this website and downplay it, just for stating that 35 hours for 99 CAD was a lot. Nintendo fanboy at its finest. Reported him and put him on the ignore list. He seems deranged.
To those who are annoyed with analysis like these or those mocking or those that don't understand why these exist, then consider the following.
A person wants to buy Cyberpunk 2077 or other compatible non-exclusive games, and he wonders, where should I buy it, on the Switch 2 or on the Steam Deck?
It seems many of you are just bitter to be bitter, which I noticed on this website. Lots lack maturity and understanding.
So no, it's not only "different audiences". It's both different and same. Someone will wonder on which machine should I buy x game. Comparisons serve to help us all to take a better decision. Both are handheld and both play games.
Obviously, if you don't like Nintendo games, there's no need for a Switch 2 since most likely the next handheld from any company will be more powerful.

@SinisterWright I'm disappointed no third party company has a 3.5mm headphone jack so far (along with rear buttons of course). I know it's still early but I fear Nintendo isn't allowing that on purpose (I hope I am wrong).
It's annoying me lol because I find the Pro Controller 2 overly expensive and too slippery (I returned it). I'll have to buy it again maybe, on sale, since I don't feel it should cost that much. Anyways, was interested in this but no 3.5mm port, no buy since I have no need for another controller without it for the Switch 2.
I'm sure we'll see something soon, hopefully, unless Nintendo has this part locked down for third-party licensed controllers?
E.g., I have a GameSir G7 HE for my Xbox Series X and it's a superb controller (wired but awesome).
Seems amazing and can't wait to play it one day, but about 35 hours for 99 CAD? I knew it'd be somewhat short (glad it's not only 20 hours) so they need to reduce the price. Other companies launch 100 hour games for 69/79 CAD.
Love this game (and all 3). My favourite is Sunshine and always has been. Just wish they'd add in 60 FPS once and for all for Sunshine. And, they need to sell this again and maybe add more games to it. I don't understand why this was a limited time thing. Those are always very strange.
@gopher1369 How low of Nintendo (and of course many companies like Samsung, etc.) to try to get out of this by launching this 2 years earlier without a care in the world. Let's see what happens in 2027. Maybe I should avoid buying it for now.
@RobertCorwen I recall about this years ago and how it should have come to pass now in 2025 (maybe it's delayed?). You can see some laptop manufacturers like Asus working on this already with their 2025 laptops, allowing quick removal of the backplate.
They really should have made it thicker with better grip for the Joy-Cons. It would have run cooler and be more comfortable. And, more space for a bigger battery. Doesn't have to be that much heavier either. It's too thin for a powerful machine.
Does this game have any motion features? I'm wondering if I should get this on Switch 2 or Xbox? If nothing special on Switch 2, then perhaps Xbox is the way to go? Unless I want to play handheld of course.
I welcome opinions.
@Maulbert I agree lol. What a silly statement. They had 150m + Switch 1 sales and they 100% have a marketing team that scouts the Internet to see comments from people and they all well know that we were all fed up with the low performance and wanted a stronger machine.
They had a long time to start producing these. Anyways, I got 2 on launch day, returned one. I'm doing a warranty on a Joy-Con 2 and waiting for it to return (UPS has it). Not too happy with the Switch 2 anymore and am considering returning it to Best Buy to be honest and waiting for a future sale or refinement done to it. There's just not much to it and they're too slow to update old games (too many older games still not running that well). They had years to do this.
@Paddle1 You're right, but I am referring to Nintendo games (all Nintendo games), but true, they do own multiple companies or work with third-party ones. Here's hoping they can achieve that though .
@thaimbomb Agreed. It's been YEARS they were planning this and they have just over 2900 employees in Japan alone. They should do an effort and speed this up. I truly hope they don't leave us hanging with lots of their games like Mario Tennis, Golf Super Rush, and many others.
I see other small companies with 3 developers pushing out giant patches (adding new features, fixing bugs, etc., about 50 changelog items) for their game in 2 months. Nintendo is a huge company and hardly updates their games.
Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, and the team.
Reverting his design would have been nice too. He looks a bit too young, unless they want to state that this happened in the past?
@Jeronan I see, never knew! I don't know anything about Pokemon HOME. Can it cloud save Scarlet?
On Xbox, I don't control when or how it saves cloud slaves. It just does it on its own. I can't even force it to download, it's all automated. That's the only thing Nintendo Switch does better (well, image review also is better since I can zoom in and such on Switch while on Xbox it's a poor implementation even though it has other features), which allows me to control cloud saves download and upload, AND to see a list of cloud saved games. Xbox doesn't have any list anywhere visible to us from what I know. It would have been great to control that. The only thing is I can delete cloud save in a game where I manage its data, and I can choose to delete on Xbox only or everywhere, that's all.

@HalBailman Does it have mouse controls (no one mentioned that ). Not gyro, but mouse with Joy-Con 2.
Oh and, is it very sharp, like 4K sharp or is it a bit blurry?
The one on Series X is very sharp.
Re: Review: Star Wars Outlaws (Switch 2) - An Underrated Adventure, A Super-Solid Port
@CriticalHit Did you enjoy Cyberpunk on Switch 2?
I have it on GOG and haven't played yet but very excited to.
