Re: 30 Years After Nintendo's "Operation Midnight Shipping" And Console Launches Are Still Fraught With Danger

Rat *****
Unbelievable.
Will never forget a co-passenger/co-deliverer of the delivery guy from GLS stealing my moped's license plate. He came prepared as he knew exactly to cover his face in front of the camera. It was the only person who walked under my carport in 24 hours after noticing I was not home. As seen on camera, he was not carrying my parcel and remained there for almost 10 min and then walked away again stepping into the delivery van. What was he doing there for such a long time? Taking a piss? It could not be considered evidence as you could not see him committing the actual crime. But we all knew what happened.

Re: Scalpers Are Already Listing The "Limited" Switch Release Super Mario 3D All-Stars

I don't like this practice, but people buying from them are the actual issue here. That's what keeps this scalping alive.

It is starting to become some kind of vicious circle as well: maybe these scalpers want e.g. an Analogue Mini NT, means they need to put 1300 on the table. How to cover for that? Selling other limited items at a profit to make up for it.

Banks don't give you any interest anymore, so what is the alternative? LEGO, (Retro) Video Games, Figurines, etc.

Why aren't stock brokers called scalpers?

Re: Poll: Should Nintendo Release A Digital-Only Switch?

While a physical collector myself, at least for a handheld it would make most sense.
But in my opinion they should figure out a model where you get the digital version for free when purchasing a physical copy. Then you don't have to worry when going on Holiday.

I own all former SOR games and regularly revisit them. I have been skeptical about SOR4 for a while during production. Bought it yesterday and it's a beast. They have been listening to the comments with every production footage. Sounds have been updated and are great. It feels perfect gameplay wise like the former games. It is well thought out in terms of level design and putting respective enemy characters in the right environments. The blend between old and new is incredible. Love it and worth it for every SOR fan and beat 'em up.
If it is not for you, I am sorry for you that you are missing out
I can't wait to continue this evening!

GRID ticked all boxes for me, of course looking forward to the online multiplayer add-on!
It is incredible how they pulled this off graphically and 60fps. The difference in graphical fidelity is negligible when switching from quality mode (30fps) to performance mode (60fps). They even put in a battery saver mode and GameCube controller support!

The only "complaint" would be the outdated cars. But it reminds me of a time without downsized engines on the other hand

I know we do not need to have the same opinion, but looking at your own review scores over here, GRID cannot be in tenth place. I own all these games and believe me GRID deserves to be in 2nd or 3rd place. TT Isle of Man is also great if you can accept the lower resolution and set it to helmet view.

What a shame... I want to like it which I did, but there is too much that fails to impress looking at this footage. It is really drawn beautifully from an artistic point of view. However that will not be enough to compete with the first 2 (ok 3) masterpieces.

The music sounds more happy and chill out instead of dark and gritty techno like the originals.

The punch sounds are not satisfactory. The repeated "Gotcha" voice sample already annoys me from the start.

Missing the "hands up high" or whatever Axel used to say with his uppercut.

It is missing the aggression of the originals. I cannot put my finger on it. Maybe pace is slower?

But yes I will probably get it anyway, but it will be a 6 maybe 7 out of 10. Not the 8.5 / 9 everyone was hoping though. I hope it feels right as soon as I have the controller in my hands. A beat 'em up might look simple to pull off, but there is a lot that needs perfection in order to make it really satisfy.
