Crytek has posted to Reddit the patch notes for the latest update to Crysis Remastered on Switch.
It's a long old list of tweaks that we'll reproduce below, but while crash fixes and squashed bugs are always very welcome, it's the improvements at the top of the list which are perhaps the most interesting features in this update.
The game makes use of a dynamic solution that reduces the game's output resolution in order to maintain a stable framerate when onscreen action gets hectic, and it seems that update 1.6 increases the maximum possible resolution from its current high of 720p to 900p when your Switch is outputting to your TV in docked mode. Neat!
Check out the full list of patch notes in the list below (get that scrolling finger ready):

It's great to see the Switch port of the game getting the attention it deserves. We enjoyed our time with it (indeed, it made our list of the best shooters on Switch), but there's always room for improvement.
How have you found the game on Switch? Looking forward to testing the fixes and improvements above? Let us know below.

Bug fixes and improvements are always welcome.
"The alive, naked Ceph now has skin
What?
Now that's a lot of fixes. I once had a bug where when I went in to the pause menu, all I could do from there was unpause. Couldn't move the menu cursor. Hope that either gets fixed or was just rare.
Edit: after trying this patch out, I'm really glad they added the motion blur option. The game looks much better without it since the effect is so severe when it's enabled. It's odd because I actually thought motion blur made Doom 2016 on Switch look better which is why I thought it was odd that Doom Eternal on Switch had no motion blur. But here? Nah, it looks way better turned off to me...
@LillianC14 Sounds like some kind of crazy passcode.
This is just stellar work, parallax occlusion mapping adds a lot of depth to the terrain.
Now they just need to fix the walking/running so that normal running without Speed Mode is possible, like it's supposed to.
@Giygas_95 you're suppose to reply with "and he marches under a red sun".
I should have bought it during the last sale hahaha
Damn. I beat the game already.
Beat it a few weeks ago; never had a game crash on me so often.
@Slowdive Same here. It always makes me sad when a physical edition is created for digital only games but it doesn't include the "full package", as it were. Stardew Valley and Untitled Goose Game both had physical switch editions this year, with major updates still on the horizon. 😭
Already beat it but the continuous polish are welcome though.
@slowdive Ah, I missed something. What's with Limited Run?
Another game that I loved then got stuck. This update will be a good excuse to start over.
Wow now, this is the time to get it! Hopefully tomorrow sales include this one!
Gotta respect a company that stands behind its product this long after release. It's been on my radar, if the reported bugs are confirmed to be cleaned up I'll definitely buy.
@Slowdive As long as it's not handled by Limited Run.
What does LRG have to do with games updates in the first place. You sure go some tribal problems that isn't related to LRG to begin with.
Hmm I might get this for Christmas if it's on sale.
If anyone is listening, I would love a physical version of this.
Anyone?
" Neat!" Only a Nintendo fan site would say a performance boost on TV "neat" when it finally maxes out past 720 - saying as such likely out of fear that the lynch mob below might get offended by talk of higher resolutions being a necessary thing. This was very much needed. Visually dense games like this NEED to try to hit those higher marks (docked) or it is visually headache inducing to parse everything out from the muddy backgrounds. Returned to the game for a moment today and found the game MUCH better to play, easier on the eyes.
Need physical release, someone please make it happen!
@Friendly Nothing really. People just seem to think that the limited time preorder period is because they are greedy, rather than them being a small company that cannot afford to make large batches of games to send out into the wild.
One hefty update! 👍🏼
@Dang69 Need is a bit strong. The games entirely playable at 720p, and most people here probably won't even notice the difference unless they see them side by side.
No Motion blur!!! YESSSSSS!!! That was my main problem with the game! I played half of it and was done with all that blur, can't wait to go finish the game!
Well, we're just a deep sale away (50% or more) (or a physical release) (it almost makes me feel as if I should add "(8Mb) (PS2)" at this point of using so many parentheses, for some weird reason) from me purchasing this game, and I am looking forward to it, really.
@link3710 No...need. Being "playable" and being "good to play" are 2 different things. Visually dense realistic shooters need this, Wolfenstein 2 is another example. Something like Doom gets a pass for me, because you're fighting large enemies with enough of a cartoony (stylized) sheen to everything that it is easy to parse stuff out.
@Dang69 Considering I don't know anyone who was playing at over 720p when the game first launched, that didn't stop it the first time around. You needed a massive rig to manage 1080p back then (as is infamously known), and the 360 and PS3 versions were 720p as well. The game was built and launched originally at that res without complaint, so clearly it was good enough back then. I don't think it's a stretch to say 720p is fine for this game.
Very interesting.
These were like, the 3 biggest gripes I had with the game. Motion blur stinks, 900p in docked will look nice and the occlusion mapping will make the ground textures look far better like the other console versions.
I wonder if it can actually hold stable 30fps with these upgrades. Interesting.
@durr It taxing areas and can drop but it's not as bad as it used to be
