Nintendo ABANDONED all of us. We bought their products, and they gave us the big middle finger by shutting down necessary components for our purchased hardware.
Quite frankly, Nintendo does not deserve to have any say so in what we do with hardware that WE paid for and THEY abandoned.
I am tired of companies selling products and then choosing to abandon it later. I think when a company abandons a product line, they should give up all rights to it. It should become the rights of the people that PAID for their products. Either that, or give us a full refund for all hardware and software purchased for it with interest to cover inflation.
Stop selling us products and then ripping it out from under us later!
@GrailUK my thoughts exactly. Of course the person getting paid for voice acting of the character would LOVE TO SEE that same character in more games. hahaha.!
Somebody wanted to show off and dropped $1500 to do it. Sadly they got the attention they wanted by articles like this being made. Yay to him on doing something that literally anybody can do if they want to waste enough money on a game. What an accomplishment... whew... I am in awe of your ability to hit the purchase button repeatedly. lol
I just don't enjoy the open-world versions of Nintendo games nearly as much as I do the way they were traditionally made. Its the same reason I don't like Breath of the Wild nearly as much as the old Zeldas. The new Super Mario Bros Wonder was my favorite SMB game released on the Switch so far because I just can't get in to open-world games.
@Arehexes fan made items is a far stretch from a company made game that is being sold for money. I think you might be using what is called hyperbolic comparison to make an analysis that isn't even close.
@Serpenterror With over 34 million Switch units sold (across all versions), who exactly is rushing to buy another one this holiday season? Pretty much anybody who plays games has a Switch at this point.
Super Mario Party Jamboree just came out and has 366,484 total sales while The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom has been out for a good while now and has 294,371 total sales. This does not bode well for the new Zelda game. If it doesn't get some traction soon... will there be another one?
I think the thing that blows my mind the most is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still racking in the sales as old as it is at this point. Totally amazing.
Isn't it weird how Hogwarts Legacy is sitting at 4 while the brand new Zelda game has fallen to 6 already. The media is going to have to put together a second round of propaganda to remind everyone that Hogwarts Legacy is a bad game despite people loving it.
Us stupid gamers spending our money on what we actually enjoy playing. What is wrong with us! Hahaha.
Kinda reminds me of how I've found, throughout the five decades I have been alive, that when the critics say a movie sucks, it ends up being a movie I enjoy. Critics... so helpful in life aren't they, always telling us what to like and not like.
@Mr_Monochrome I believe all the servers except one are in the same datacenter here in the US. The only server that I know is actually in a different datacenter is the new Mordor server which is in a datacenter in Europe.
@Mr_Monochrome If you are on the Gladden or Angmar server, hit me up and I can help you with some gear or something. I stream most of my Lotro play sessions on youtube.com/pharone1 and twitch.tv/pharone.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with my current PS5 that would warrant me to go buy a PS5 Pro. Why anyone would by the PS5 Pro at that ridiculously outrageous price over just buying a PS5 is beyond me. The PS5 itself is light years better than its predecessor. Buying a PS5 Pro would just be a luxury purchase in comparison. In other words, just get a PS5. Nobody needs the Pro.
Companies that sell physical games end up getting 2 purchases from people like me. I buy 1 physical copy that I put on my shelf and buy 1 digital copy to actually download and play.
If companies stop making physical games, they will lose that extra income revenue.
This game is still to this day one of my all time favorites, and I believe that it has everything to do with his commitment to his work. If more people put this much commitment in to what they create, the world would be a better place.
I've been enjoying Luigi's Mansion 2 HD more than I thought I would. I mean, I was a huge fan of 3, but I figured 2 would lack enough to be ok but not great. I was wrong. It's a great.
What has this world come to when we enjoy games about doing work more than actually doing work? There's that office game in VR, Supermarket Simulator, Gas Station Simulator, Carwashing Simulator, and now this... a lawnmowing simulator. /sigh ... and you know I will have to play it. UGH!
The thing that irritates me the most is that they get away with it. Not only should the seller be held accountable, but Amazon should be held accountable as well. I truly hate buying anything from Amazon (even though I do because of the convenience...sigh) because about one out of every 3 items I buy is absolutely horrible quality.
Did I read that right? 1,800 employees was 25% of their workforce, so Unity employed 7200 employees. That's an incredible number of employees for a software company.
@IceClimbersMain 3DS XL is still one of my favorite systems of all time. If they would have just put an updated screen on it and a battery from today's standards, I would buy a brand new one right this second. The size and clamshell design made it super pocket-friendly.

Make better games that are actually fun to play. If you can't do that, then get out of the business. It's that simple.

@UmbreonsPapa ah ok that makes more sense.
Re: Palworld Developer Details Patent Infringement Claims From Nintendo's Lawsuit
Regardless of what patent they use to go after them, I can't understand how anyone doesn't see that Palworld is a ripoff of the Pokemon franchise.
Like Palworld or not, how can anyone think this wouldn't have ended up in court?

Its all fun and games right up until they pull the plug on the servers. Ask the PS Vita, Gamecube, and 3DS crowd about that.
Physical media is the ONLY way to actually own games and not just rent them.
Re: UK Charts: Zelda Falls From The Top Five As New Releases Shake Things Up

Re: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door And Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Both Surpass One Million Sales
I've said it before, and I will say it again... My favorite Nintendo franchises are NOT Mario nor Zelda.
My favorite Nintendo franchises are:
1. Luigi's Mansion
2. Donkey Kong Country
3. Kirby
My favorite Nintendo franchise games are:
1. Luigi's Mansion 3 (Switch)
2. Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (Switch)
3. Kirby's Epic Yarn (Wii)
Re: UK Charts: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Starts To Slip In A Quiet Week
Luigis Mansion 2 HD is still a really fun game even though it does struggle with bad controls. The game deserves to sell well.

Re: Random: The Last Pokémon Player On 3DS Online Shares Message Of Thanks
That was amazing. I still say the 3DS is the best handheld game machine ever made.
Update the hardware to modern standards, and I would buy a 2025 3DS today over a Nintendo Switch.
The form factor of the 3DS is a million times superior to the Switch.
As an official 3DS ambassador, I salute this person and thank her for doing her part to hold on to what little we had left.
